I needed to sustain myself while i cared for my Grandmother. CSL helped me when options were slim. I also helped others in return. Staff in Margate are friendly and professional. They expedite things as best as they can. Cherline is wonderful and the best phlebotomist there is! I do have a problem with them being open on Thanksgiving. I'm one single voice here and I realize that. Plasma has got to take time to get processed. So anything that they receive on sure would not be shipped out to someone in need that same day. I brought my service dog with me and a lady came in and ask me what I was doing there and if I knew that I wasn't allowed to have a dog there, I then proceeded to tell her this service dog, and so she had left and security came in, and the security guard was extremely disrespectful. Prime example - I went to donate today and Miriam blew the veins in BOTH my arms and then didn't offer me any form of aftercare and misinformed me about me getting paid. The first 2 donations were done very professionally. This time was very unprofessional! I knew immediately when she stuck me that something was wrong! I told someone and they kept moving the needle. I'm in pain now so they take it out. She told me they would try the other arm because they couldn't find my vein. I have never in all my years had any phlebotomist try to dig into me to find a vein that even I can see! I was concerned and said maybe I should come back! I was reassured the other arm would be ok. I am severely bruised and having issues with my left arm! They were all too busy talking loudly and having fun with a guy that came in that they knew! This is not social hour! This is someone's life that you are dealing with. There needs to be professional training here! I don't think that I will ever be back! The black lady who is a wanna be "physician" is so unprofessional and just doesn't know how to approach people. I walked in and as I'm waiting in the front, this lady approaches me and states " what am I here for?" With an attitude and she's looking at me as if I have 2 heads because I walked in 30 mins before their closed time. Then, as I explained that I'm obviously here to donate, I was told by someone who works there that I could walk in as a donor and they'll take me in right away. Nope. As the wanna be "physician" proceeds to tell me whoever I spoke too, provided me the wrong information and that I will not be donating because they have to leave at 7 and that their hours are cut short? How's that my problem? So since your hours are getting cut, you're gonna stop taking donors 30 mins prior to closing ? Never coming back nor recommending anyone to this facility. read more

I went to apply to donate as the money would come in very handy. People were great place is clean. Plasma donation can't be more difficult than giving blood. I was there for no less than three hours doing preliminary stuff. Questions questions questions. Everything was going fine until the last step. I have afib and that disqualifies me from donation. Why don't they say HERE'S A LUST OF THINGS THAT WILL PRECLUDE YOU FROM DONATING at the very beginning!! I understand the reasoning but I wasted three damned hours! read more

I went for the first time and Manger was extremely unprofessional. I had gone before with a different last because I was married. She ask for a copy of my divorce papers which was provided. In the State of Florida as long as you and provide a copy of your divorce you are allowed to go back to your maiden name after showing your Birth Certificate. My ID from the DMV has my new maiden name now but they would not honor it because it was not stated on my divorce papers. Clearly they are uneducated and should not be working at a professional capacity . She should have asked someone with more knowledge, but lazy to a fault the Manager was. the lines are super long no one and I do mean no one moves with Urgency you can definitely tell this is a scheduling issue whoever is the manager simply needs to get it together it's so crazy how the app can show you the forecast for traffic but the manager doesn't know how to schedule people so theres always coverage it's frustrating because we work in other facilities and they are always full staffed ‍ read more

They have some major problems to say the least. WE ARE NOT GETTING PAID BECAUSE OF SOME BREACH! More about that to follow. They have triple the floor space as Grifols but at Grifols you get to sit down. NOT at CSL unless you are in the exit room...as if we want to hang around for awhile after being there for an average turn-around time of about 4.5 hours. And then you don't get paid. That is how long you can expect to be standing in two different lines before you finally make it to the chair and even then, you cannot be surprised while IN THE CHAIR, they tell you to go back and retake the long version of their entry and then put you in the BACK OF THE LINE AGAIN. This is especially bad during your first month when they try to discourage you from staying the full visit! They did this to my fiancé on the premise "she doesn't speak English" when she speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese and made her verbally repeat the long version (over 60 questions) of the test AGAIN on her 4th visit. It gets worse: Now after expecting to find hundreds of dollars on our debit cards, we're finding that they are "invalid" and when you go on to their website, you are rerouted like a virus. They have the most inconvenient hours where Grifols is open with more of a staff and less turn around time. Grifols has it's own problems such as NEVER answering their phone and a glitchie appointment site where you show up and find your appointment has been cancelled and they have not contacted you. BOTH companies lie about their "$1000 in your first month" ad because they don't tell you that is only in locations with tiny populations. read more

Hmmm, I'm not sure where to begin. I generally donate at the Greenacres location but because I was in Margate, I decided to try this location. WOW WOW WOW, awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This location is disgusting, I got there at 7:30(am )and didn't leave until 10:15ish (am). So many people and barely any staff. I must say, the Greenacres location is by far the cleanest, fastest and competent employed location. Never again will I go back to this particular location . I wouldn't trust them with a dead frog........... There were large amounts of blood stains on the machine, it wasn't cleaned, just awful. There's all types of people who donate for there own personal reasons, treat the donors with respect and appreciation. I know I wrote a review before not sure where it went but... This place is dangerous!! My wife and I decided to give plasma we are regular blood donors and wanted to do more. We went in the first time and went through the whole process read all the literature etc. Everyone was very nice. From the desk to the young lady who set me up to donate. I felt a little off towards the end of my donation but nothing major. Went back 2 weeks later .. the lady taking my vitals grunted at me, never spoke. I'm like oookk maybe she isnt a morning person . Proceeded to the donation, the guy hooking up the machine had a crimped Budweiser cap in his braid. I was like that's so cute!! He grunts at me!! So I'm trying to make small talk ..nothing. more grunts. I am donating ,filling my bottle I did notice a man across from me giving his donation. I am playing games on my phone and i stated to not feel so well I put my phone on my chest. Next thing you know the guy with the Budweiser cap is smacking me on the shoulder " you aite?" I said "ya" because I didnt know where I was !! I was clearly disoriented! I had passed out ! The man across from me asked if I was ok I could only stare at him he said I had to get some help for you I noticed you werent doing well !! I said thank you. I felt very very sweaty. The budwieser crimped cap guy came back unhooked me said "Thanks for the donation" and walked off!! I then got up to leave feeling very weak and shakyand that's when I realized I had peed myself!! Now I read the literature I know this is a risk. But there was another tech right at the chair next to me she had to have seen me struggling !! I was embarrassed because I realized I peed wanted to get the hell out of there, made my way to the car. My wife was on the other side of the room and had no clue what was happening. 10 mins late she gets to the car im laying in the seat sweaty ,grey,not making sense she took me straight to the ER. I refused to get out of the car because I pissed my pants ( dumb for sure) we stopped and got me some oj I started feeling a bit better. Got home and it took a few hours to feel almost normal! So I stopped going of course! 2 weeks goes by and the supervisor calls me asking why I stopped coming? So I tell her the whole story!! Shes like omg!! I'm so sorry!! there are procedures that should have been followed they shouldnt have let you leave! we have nurses ! we would have given you clean scrub pants to wear home!! .she was supposed to have her supervisor call me .. nothin crickets!! My wife donated once more after that and she got the same treatment just grunting and rude staff.. not worth the risk not worth the way they treat you! Do yourself a favor and go to One Blood. I've been a regular donor here at this location and on Monday may 15th, 2023 I finally came back to this location after a month to get some extra funds for my trip to Ohio this Wednesday. I stepped on the scale and was really happy with my weight because I previously was in a lower weight class. The lady that was doing my vitals asked if I had anything in my pocket which she could clearly see my phone was on the table in front of me and I wasn't even wearing pants so I explained yes my pockets are flat and my phone is right there. She then asked when the last time I was here was and I explained over a month ago ( as they can clearly see on there screen the last time you've been! ) she then continued my entire screening and sent me off on my way. I'm happy as ever because I'm now in a higher weight class as I was over a month ago by over 6 pounds. I finish donating and get told I only collected $35 instead of the $47 I was expecting and I became overwhelmed and highly upset. I spoke to a staff member who looked into this problem who claims whoever did my vitals locked me in at 149. WHICH I KNOW FOR A FACT WAS INTENTIONAL AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Then when I asked the staff member well what was the name of the person who did my vitals ( as once again they can view that information easily by looking it up ) and he goes " oh I just logged out I'm sorry maybe come in tomorrow " ( it's currently 8:12 pm and the people in the front doing vitals already went home ) so of course i didn't go back in I legit leave to another state the next day and have plenty to do. I will be going back to this location, finding out who did my vitals and causing a scene if need be to get that staff member fired. HIGHLY RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL, AND NOT DOING HER JOB! Alternating your weight and alternating the vital screening is against the law!!! SHE SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR LIEING ON A SCREENING !!! I stopped in here to do my "Aquarius season" good deed. Every year around my birthday I donate blood, but this year I decided to try something different. Service was great from the minute I walked in. Friendly security, friendly and attentive staff as well. They help you through the whole process, explaining everything in detail. Make sure you visit their website so you know what to bring with you ahead of time. Getting paid for a good deed is like the icing on the cake. They give you a cash card so they can deposit your earnings each time you go. Plasma is in high demand right now so they do encourage you to continue to donate. So TODAY 7/26/2024 I went to donate, I had a express pass because it was my 2nd visit, they parked me by a wall and instructed me to wait until I was called, well the assistant manager waved at who I thought was me, well she informed me and not politely that she hadn't been waving to me, and that I had to wait until someone called for me, which I understood because I had been donating at CSL for around 8 years on and off. Well as I stood there waiting I could hear HER I believe her name is Chaniqe, not sure of the spelling, I could hear her talking to another donor that I must be hearing or seeing thing's, to say I was humiliated and embarrassed WAS a understatement, I completely understand why donor's are complaining about the professionalism of the staff on the floor, the first day I came in, a young lady was so immensed in dumping trash, she couldn't be bothered taking MYSELF and a gentleman off the machine, until the who I assumed was a supervisor had to tell her to take us off the machine if this is what I have to deal with, I'll go somewhere else, cause not for nothing, CSL doesn't pay enough to put up with the staff on the floor, BPL pays far more than CSL. I've been a regular donor at the Wilton Manors location. I've prob donated plasma around 100 times at this point. I came out here to Margate because there were 60 people in line at WM. Today is my first time in Margate and so far, I'm not impressed and I won't be recommending anyone go here. If this was my first time donating, I prob would never be a donor. The line was short upon my arrival with about 10 people ahead. I have issues with standing long periods of time due to an injury, so I usually always have someone save my place in line or sit in a chair because donates can stand upwards of a few hours waiting. The staff at WM know about this and have never questioned me or given me a hard time about it. After waiting in the screening line for about a half hour in a chair, one of the screeners by the name of Shaina told me that I had to go see medical. Of course there was a line to see the nurse Amanda. She was very nice and screened me in a timely manner, but then There was another wait because of some error in their system. At this point, I'm pulled out of the screening line and have to go through another nurse to get back into the ever growing screening line. I'm beyond upset because I've been here over an hour. The greeter/screener Shaina put some kind of medical hold and I've been here almost 2 hours so far due to her lack of common sense to allow a handicapped woman a chair. The security guard was nice and recognized me from WM. He said the policies are way different here than WM. The nurse was nice, but this matter wasn't handled in a timely manor. Waiting 2 hours to donate seems ridiculous. Also, there's no recycle bins and the bathrooms actually had TP unlike WM. I've also learned that after not missing any donations and successfully doing 52 weeks, donors are eligible for a line pass that's good for 2 months. After faithfully donating your time, rescheduling your life around donating, waiting in two hour lines, the only reward is 2 months of no lines! Seems like a pretty raw deal. read more

I come here fairly often, even though it's a drive from Hutchinson Island. I enjoy coming here- It's clean, the staff (despite other reviews) is fairly personable, and they give you some cash for donating. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I would give the no stars if I could. The CSL plasma in margate Fl off of 441 has the worst customer service. We have to wait in long lines, no chairs and they're always understaffed. I wait 20 minutes for my vitals check and then another 30 minutes just to donate. The staff is rude and won't even let you sit down. I hate going here I just need the money. This place has a low rating here and on some other business review platforms, but I'm giving a high rating of 4 stars because my first experience today went smoothly and was professional. It was my first time donating plasma and before actually getting to donate, there was an impressive thorough process which was administered well and completely. From reading the guidelines, to the orientation video, to the health questionnaire, to the nurse check-up, to the facility tour, I dealt with 3 employees during these and each served me well and answered all of my questions. It ensured a confidence in me for what I was getting into. I will admit that, as inferred by the reviewer Lisa G. below me, I did not see them sanitize the beds in between donors. Although I didn't think anything of it then, it is discomforting now. That is why I'm deducting 1 star. The first visit took a while with all questions and education but it was thorough and safe. The donation didn't go as planned and they didn't get a full supply because my blood flow wasn't sufficient and they couldn't return the red blood cells. For safety, i couldn't then donate for 8 weeks. At the second visit, the withdraw went well without incident and I felt better afterwards than I ever have when I donated blood. They were professional and respectful. Payment occurs as long as the needle breaks the skin. I have been able to get full first month donation payments by requesting an adjustment after each donation since the inability to donate wasn't my fault. read more

Does anyone else have a problem with your protein # when it's your bonus payout day? I mean ever time I go my protein # is good except when they have those bonus months, on your 6th & 8th time donating in a month you get extra money. Every time I'm on my 6th donation some how my protein # is not high enough, but every other time it's fine. Does any one else get told you can't donate because your protein # is to low when it's a bonus pay day for donation? Went there today. Everything was fine with the service until the nurse water or puddle.. oh aqua had an attitude for whatever reason and very poor people skills. VERY rude. I proceed to go ahead and donate because of helping a friend but couldn't donate but they didn't weigh enough. I then get in the back and the techs back there are rude and sarcastic about simple questions that anyone who was curious as to what's going with the process would. The only one that was nice was the one showing me the video that day. Finally my turn and they let 2 or 3 people skip me..seems like they knew them.. I apologize for the length of this review but it is necessary to convey the issues I had with this facility. If Yelp would allow me to rate with zero stars I would. My first experience started on Friday August 11, 2017. When I went in I was told that the wait time was 2-3 hours, it ended up being over 5 hours. I checked in, read the required literature and also watched the video with more waiting after that. Probably 30 minutes later a staff member came out and said. 'Now what are you here for?" I think they need to be keeping track of the clients as there was only myself, my daughter and 3 other individuals in the wait area. One thing I observed with the staff is how they stand around just having personal conversation. When I finally got called back for the preliminary screening a new staff member handled my session so he was shadowed by a senior personnel. During my session another staff member came in to discuss a negative call she had in front of me which I feel should not have been handled in my presence. After I completed the online questions I went back to sit in the waiting room. They never told me there was additional processing that needed to take place, so instead of calling me back in, they took the next person in. I finally got the pre-physical done, the person who did the physical was the ONLY personable person in that place. I final got to the donation room and it only got worse. The individual that was to oversee my process was SO impersonal, she tried to remember all the things she was supposed to quote to me (all the do's and don't while giving the plasma). I had a card that stated I was allergic to iodine and the first thing I noticed was she had latex gloves with Betadine residue on them so it was clear she had not changed her gloves, I had to ask her put on a new pair. While the process was occurring I was squeezing the 'folded up paper from that had contained the needle' they gave me. I closed my eyes and continued to squeeze and she said, "Ma'am you can't sleep" I said I wasn't, can't you see I'm still squeezing, just because my eyes are shut doesn't mean I'm sleeping. When she accessed my vein she caused a hematoma (they had to strap ice to my arm) she didn't even apologize for it. . I requested another technician, as I didn't want her to repeat the error. The team leader came over and was preparing to swab the puncture site, she opened a Betadine swab, I said what are you doing? She said and I quote, I'm using this to mark where your vein is". I said do you realize I'm allergic, she said, 'Oh I was using the other end," I said then why didn't you open an alcohol swab to to it? She said the liquid would get all over". Not a good answer, she almost used the wrong swab on me. She also caused bruising as well. I give blood frequently and have never had an experience like this. When I left the facility my daughter was waiting outside and said a guy came out with a shirt wrapped around his arm and blood was dripping. Came back this morning and they told me I couldn't donate as long as the bruising was present. They didn't tell me that on Friday or I would never come back so soon. They allow you to give twice a week. They compensate for the donation but they make it difficult for you to follow the schedule to receive the maximum compensation. Impersonal, and unprofessional on how they treat their clients. read more

I came here for the first time last Thursday. I never donated plasma before but from the moment I walked in I was extremely comfortable. I was greeted at the front office with a kind smile. I watched the video and was given crackers and a bottle of water. I went thru the exam and then to the actual donation room. I was really nervous but the staff put me at ease. The needle went in fairly painlessly. The only problem I had was towards the end of the procedure I started to get dizzy. I would like to bring the up in my review because the way the nursing staff handled it was outstanding! I raised my hand and told the nurse I was having trouble hearing and my vision was getting blurry. A team of 3 people assisted me immediately. They put a pack of ice under my chin and behind my head and rose my feet up. They fanned me and made sure I didn't pass out. By then I was almost finished with the entire process. They bandaged me up and I was on my way. I think that this is a great facility with great staff. The only thing that stinks is that it is somewhat tedious to register to become a donor.: other than that; this place is fantastic!! read more

I'm giving this a two star for some of the staff that works there, but I would give them a one star for the way this facility is operated. They do not sanitize the donor bed after each donor! In fact, when I asked them to sanitize the bed for me, they were snarky and barely sprayed any spray. I grabbed the sanitation spray myself and sprayed the bed with the proper amount that should be used! A few days ago when I went to donate, they did a much better job than today, but that was my first donation so of course they're going to act differently, though I still had to ask them to clean the bed prior to me getting in it. Also, when the gentleman stuck me with the needle, the blood squirted and got on my nice work dress. I asked to speak with the supervisor, in which I did, but they showed little concern. The blood did eventually come out. They also do not put a paper towel or something down where you rest your bare arm during the donation process, which is completely unclean and unprofessional. So, they give you an attitude when you ask them to clean, because you want to keep things sanitized, and they do NOTHING to keep the beds cleaned in between each client. I'm a hair dresser, so I'm very aware of skin conditions that can spread. I hope this review does something positive for this place of business, and they start treating each client with care!! read more

This location is filled with the most incompetent, disrespectful, and neglectful staff I have ever seen. The "manager" Amanda is no different. I was a donor and was neglected in my station. There was no staff in my area for when I needed assistance. They make sure and advise you if you need any assistance to raise your hand so you can get someone's attention. That only works if there is someone there to get attention from. I was also unable to move sake of the needle in my arm. As a result of their neglect there was an accident during my donation. I tried desperately to get help but there was no one there. That was a very embarrassing moment that could have been avoided if there was adequate staffing. What if there was an issue with my donation? I could have been put at risk for an unnecessary health issue because of their neglect. I left that day without any issues and was told the next day I can donate. 2 weeks later I tried to donate again and was not able to access the questionnaire. I went to the front desk and was pulled aside saying I was unable to donate because of my last donation. I was told the incident was under review. I found that strange because it was 2 weeks ago and I was told when to come back and donate. The person that pulled me in said there was a report that I urinated in the garbage can in an inappropriate manor. Needless to say I was livid. There was never a review if there was they would have pulled their cameras and saw me be neglected because of their staffing issue and they would have seen that I did not urinate in a trash can. I asked to speak to a manager. The person that came in was named Amanda. She was very short and did not give any explanation. She said there was no review and they just went based off of the report. So their staff is allowed to lie about their so called valued donors and not allow them to come back. I also asked for the corporate number before I left. They did not want to give me the number at first and when they did I was given a number that was disconnected. I honestly feel like this place is shady and trying to hide the fact they take short cuts in order to save money. Their donors pay the price for this. Never donate at this location!
