Tyler, my original "salesman" was professional. Came out and provided what appeared to be a reasonable quote given the nature of the work. There was a question over whether a discount should be applied given the cost estimate and the mailbox flyer they distributed, but he addressed that. The work was done in a day, photos taken, etc. The 1st red flag was that I didnt see hardly any debris or trash from the work. Only a few cracked tiles and some supplies. I presumed they put the waste materials in their truck and disposed of them. Because I had filed a homeowners insurance claim an inspector came out a few days after the work CSR had completed. That review painted a different picture from the pics I was sent. 2nd red flag. Crap that was supposed to have been removed wasn't. Bird spikes attached were done incorrectly with no netting. Some tiles were still loose and others cracked. Shortly after the work was done I received an email stating Tyler was no longer with CSR and to contact them if I had any questions. I sent them the concern over the work not being completed, including the inspectors report, and followed up with a manager over the phone. I was told they would send a team out in a couple of weeks to complete the work properly. After four weeks, I called back and emailed. No responses. 3rd red flag. I subsequently had to have another contractor come and paid them almost a 1/3 of what CSR received for the work they never did. There was a reason why I didn't see any debris in my garbage after the original work. A mound of debris was left out of sight under my solar panels with other debris in my gutters. 4th red flag. As getting on a roof is not something most people can or should do, you need to have a trustworthy, reliable, responsive, and honest contractor to do the work at a fair cost. CSR showed NONE of these qualities in their work or in handling this project. I would think twice about considering them for any roofing project unless you can physically watch them do the work. The new roof does not leak and looks good. Unfortunately that is the only plus side since there were mistakes made by CSR and especially their subcontractors. As a contractor overseeing the job, you are responsible for the companies that you sub-out to. The crew who tore off the old roof broke two lawn sprinklers that they tried to hide that I had to replace. They broke bricks that line the stairway to our front door and tried to set them back to look like they had not been disturbed. They damaged 5 screens which I had to get replaced. I do not think they picked up a single nail even though they assured me that they would. We picked up handfuls of old nails, hundreds, and one that went into my foot. The gutter company put up gutters that had all kinds of bends in them. Not huge bends, but for brand new you would think they would be straight. If you look at them from the side you can really tell. As for CSR itself, if they put up new wood it is not painted. Also looking at the attached pictures, they needed to get flashing under this area but never blocked the hole after they tore off the piece that was there. So they made the hole and did not fix it. This hole was big enough for small animals to crawl through to get into my attic. And that is just one of many holes that I have had to fix on my own. Also they need to realize that every piece of roofing that they cut and throw on your lawn in July will burn it. So if you want to spend $42000+ on your roof and garage roof, and don't mind cleaning up after them and storing their plywood sheets and 2x6's for two weeks in your driveway after they leave, go for it. Hired CSR for the third time (in Nov 2024) for routing maintenance; re-pitching 2 sections of gutters, cracked tile replacement and take care of poor moisture proofing below the tiles and pressure washing moss on the north facing roof. Due to the excellent past history, there was no reason for any suspicion. The delayed project reached December holidays and paused with 2/3 of moss still on the roof and a leaky gutter joint remaining with the promise that "everything would be taken care of fist thing after the New Year". Unfortunately, I paid off the invoice in full due to the trust CSR built historically with past work. This time that was not to be; multiple telephone calls to the owner (and then not answering my calls) I gave up. I will never rely on this company again. read more

Our first experience with CSR Roofing started with getting an estimate due to rotting eve boards. Tyler came out and looked over the eves and completed an inspection of the entire roof making recommended repairs. The cost of the repairs seemed to be very fair; I then inquired as to what the options and cost would be to have the entire 41 year old roof replaced. Again, after being provided our options and cost, my wife and I decided to replace the roof in lieu of making temporary fixes on an old, aged out roof in immanent need of replacement. Tyler drew up the contract and scheduled our date for install. Prior to the install we realized that the wrong roofing material was on the contract, we contacted Daryll the owner of CSR Roofing and this was easily corrected. Unfortunately, the day prior to our install date we were contacted by CSR to extend out the date of our install due to staffing, which was fine, not a problem. On the day of install - Tyler, Tanner and crew arrived ready to go. During the install a few hiccups developed, but due to their professionalism and honest practices everything was quickly remedied and the project moved on to completion. I want to especially thank Daryll for his customer friendly responsiveness to our concerns which deserves 5 stars on its own; but when you add the performance of the work crew (a well oiled machine) and the aesthetically eye pleasing roof - if 10 stars were an option, in our view they would deserve all 10 of them. We have used CSR Roofing many times in the past. They were the ONLY company that was able to accurately and quickly determine the root cause of leaks that had plagued us for years and previous companies were not skilled to find the real reason for the leaks. This summer, as we decided to paint the entire outside of the house, and in preparation of the project, we discovered several areas of dry rot. Repair of these areas required gutter and tile removal, then sub-floor replacement, and finally replacement of the roof. We also discovered a very small area in the house where water had stained the ceiling. Once again, CSR roofing quickly found the root cause and effected a repair. We also had them check all the gutters to discover any joints that might need repair. In the process we found that the west and south gutters were almost full of dirt and debris. This surprised us as we have no nearby trees. A very experienced man and his son cleaned out all the clogged drains and caulked some joints. They had to do this work when were we having the summer heat wave which made the job quite demanding. As usual with CSR Roofing, the crew cleaned up each night. They also walked the entire roof and found some cracked tiles that had been cracked during installation 17 years ago. After a big storm we noticed not one, but two roof leaks running down through our ceilings, walls and onto our floors. We called our insurance company and they told us that we were on our own for finding a roofing contractor to repair.
