From the moment we walked in, I loved the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant. Even the TVs showing beautiful scenery added such a nice touch. But what stood out the most was the warm customer service and welcoming energy from Teresa. I'm already very familiar with Peruvian food, but she still took the time to recommend different dishes for us to try. We ordered the ceviche, lomo saltado, and of course, we had to try the chicken! The ceviche was incredibly fresh, perfectly citrusy, and I loved the potatoes and white corn that came with it. The portion was perfect. The lomo saltado was also delicious the meat was tender, juicy, well seasoned, and full of flavor. And THE CHICKEN! We originally ordered just a 1/4 chicken, but after one bite, we ended up ordering another half chicken to bring home. That says everything! Now when I think of Peruvian chicken, this is the chicken I'm going to crave. The fries, salad, and sauces were all great too! Thank you, Teresa, for your amazing hospitality and welcoming energy. I was listening to several nostalgic 80s songs, including 'Til Tuesday "Voices Carry," Cyndi Lauper "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," The B-52's "Love Shack" and Naked Eyes "Always Something There To Remind Me." The playlist definitely sets a good mood and happy vibe! Menu offers a nice selection of savory, sweet, and specialty empanadas, as well as combos, Peruvian classic street food for salchipapas (french fries and hot dogs), sides, and drinks. All the savory empanadas are traditionally baked, but you can request them fried. Frying takes a little longer since it's made to order. Their most popular options are the steak, chicken, and ground beef empanadas. They offer them in two different ways, savory or traditional Peruvian. The Traditional Peruvian Style includes olives and raisins inside, that's what differentiates the savory from the traditional. They have a combo meal for 1, 2, or 3 empanadas that come with your choice of 1 or 2 sides (rice, beans, potatoes, or french fries). The most requested side is rice and beans. I ordered Meatlovers Pizza ($4.50) which is their Empanada of the Month for August. The empanada is beautifully baked to a golden crisp, inside has seasoned ground beef, pork sausage, pepperoni, melted mozzarella, and pizza sauce. It even came with a side of pizza sauce for dipping, it's great! For dessert, I tried Cheesecake Empanada ($4.50) and requested plain cheesecake. It's only available as a fried empanada, and made perfectly golden crispy, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, so yummy, not too sweet, and delightful! They also have other cheesecake empanada flavors that are worth a try, such as strawberry, white chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, guava, chocolate, and pumpkin. Service from owner Jose and Kelly is very kind, welcoming, helpful, and friendly! It was my first visit and they are so incredibly nice. I'm happy I got to try the Meatlovers Pizza empanada. The tortillas were made fresh, the meats were perfectly seasoned, and the rice and beans were on point. They offer three different levels of sauce, a green, mild, and a spicy red. I prefer the spicy red sauce and it has a perfect kick to go with the seasoning on the meat. Bottom line? This is definitely a place we're going to add to our taco list whenever we get in the mood.
