My husband and I just had a FABULOUS lunch at Rincon de Buenos Aires. We hadn't been there before, and all I can say is, "We should have tried them YEARS ago." The food was wonderful, and the service was even better. We ordered four empanadas and a choripan sandwich. After ordering, our server brought out housemade bread and chimichurri sauce. The bread was toasty on the outside and soft on the inside, and the chimicurri, was herbaceous and filled with fresh garlic. The empanadas were delicious, but the star of the meal was the chorizo, which also is housemade. It's extremely well seasoned, and it tasted like it was grilled on an outdoor smoker. It was juicy, and the flavors were complex. It may have been the best chorizo sausage either one of us has ever had (and we've enjoyed choripan sandwiches in several U.S. restaurants, as well as in Argentina). The sandwich was very generous - even for two to share - and we appreciated that it came dressed with chimichurri sauce AND accompanied by delicious French fries. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The steak was tough and not enjoyable, and the bread was completely flavorless. After we finished eating, our plates sat on the table for about 15 minutes without anyone coming by to clear them. Overall, the food and service simply didn't meet our expectations. The service was amazing. A sliced bread roll was placed at the table and dove right in. This bread was so soft and tender, with a crunchy crust. I've never been to this location before, but I brought my friends here for dinner after a fun afternoon day out because I knew this location has a lot of seating compared to the Spring Mountain location. My friends really enjoyed this place a lot. It was their first time at a Rincon de Buenos Aires and we have already made plans to come again. I ordered and split the Parrillada Martin Fierro with my friend and it was A LOT of meat! There were enough left overs to save for next nights dinner. We ordered medium rare but because the grill was still hot, if you don't take the meat off and put it aside, it basically continues to cook. Lesson learned. I'm not a big potato salad kind of person but the potato salad they serve here, made me ask for more. Next time, I'll have to order a side just for me. Our server was great. One piece was more on the medium side, which is unfortunate while the other pierce was cooked perfectly. I actually took one piece to go. The chimichurri sauce was so delicious that we use it for everything, including the freshly baked bread that is complimentary to diners. I bought a few slices home that day and it was still so good. I'm a sucker for cheese, so I was quite happy. Also got a ham and cheese empanada which was pretty decent Then the Parrillada Martin Fierro - This was good. The filet was the winner of the meats. Some of the cuts were pretty overdone (ordered med rare). The meat is served on a grill, and continues cooking. Next time I may order rare and that way it can finish cooking at my table. A couple of the pieces got tough, but overall it was good. I'll definitely come back and try some more menu items. Stopped in because we were starving after running a few errands. Found out they have the same menu all day. It's ok because I was just plain hungry! We were seated promptly (only patrons since it was around 11am on a Sunday). We then got to enjoy some warm bread with sauce Ended up getting a Churrasco Sandwich with a sauce and butter. Completely ate it all in a few minutes. After deliberating, ended up getting a side salad with a Churrasco sandwich (medium rare) with mayo (on the side), lettuce, tomato. Salad dressing was oil and vinegar. My husband got the Tierra y Mar surf and turf with fries for the side. That consisted of a 6 oz filet (medium rare) and some shrimp (with a sauce on them) with some mashed potatoes. The food all came out at the same time, which was just a matter of minutes. The presentation for both was pretty nice and since we were both hungry, we just ended up eating in silence for a few minutes, glancing at the tvs from time to time. The sandwich and meats were cooked perfectly, still juice and tender, and they used the same bread that we had as an appetizer for the sandwich. The fries had just the right amount of crunchiness and salt that were just right. I ended up taking half of my sandwich home for a snack, along with a few fries. My husband finished all of his surf and turf, which was also cooked to his liking, so it was quite the satisfying meal for both of us. I liked that it wasn't too loud that we could still have a conversation, but also not just crickets to where it was too quiet. Low volumes on all stuff, so a nice environment for us to relax and enjoy an early lunch. After being approached about dessert, we politely declined since we were extremely full. If you are looking for some fine meats from South America, Rincon de Buenos Aires is the place to go. The ambiance as you walking in feels like a 50s diner or a Japanese Sushi Bar, but don't let the stir you away from trying this niche Argentinian restaurant. This is their 2nd location in the valley. It's good to see that they are expanding and to have a location in Henderson, NV. The chimichuri sauce on the meats only enchanced the flavors to the next level. The bread that is given as a starter would work well as sandwich smeared with the chimichuri sauce and churrasco. All the food that was brought to the table was delicious in every bite I took. We had salads.....Main dishes were pounded out chicken and the sauces for both were good. Marsala sauce a little on the light side but still good...... Service was good... You can purchase wine or bring your own choice @12 per bottle corkage..Reasonably priced for what you get. I don't think you will leave here hungry. read more
