Authentic Cuban food, this place is it! After one successful UberEats order, this place when it comes to empanadas they've stolen my heart. The food was made with LOVE! I tried three empanadas (ground beef, pulled steak had chicken) they were packed with flavor, in every bite. I also ordered a Jabrito Steak Sandwich with was breaded in a crispy plantain, delicious! The chicken empanadas were excellent especially with the chimichurri sauce. I had the chicken jibarito which was good, but it was missing something. I then realized, I didn't put the mayo that was provided separately in a container. But I won't forget next time as there will definitely be a next time. My friend and I decided to try a new restaurant and boy were we impressed with the food. It was delicious and I'm definitely going back with my family. The owner Señor Cesar was very attentive and brought us different sauces to try with our food and we asked him about the cafe cortado and we were pleasantly surprised that he provided us this coffee on the house. I ordered the empanadas de guava and cream cheese, they were delicious and went well with the coffee. My friend also said she would be back with her family as well. We found out that there's another location. The original restaurant but, honestly this one is perfect and closer to home. We will definitely be back since this restaurant is closer from our homes. Sooo let me tell y'all. I just got off the plane at Midway. Ended up here due to another adventure with Vegan Mommy. She saw this restaurant had Vegan options & it was within a mile of the airport. Since we are on vacay we figured it's adventure time. Long story short, we are in a food coma. Me & my hubby (the meat eaters) had the sandwiches. The food is so authentic. We loved it. Don't skip the salsas (chimichurri, sweet habanero, mango bbq, etc). All bangers. Now mom has the Jibaritos, black beans, yucca fries. She's stuffed as well. Let me also thank the staff. To say that I've waited for this place to open up is an understatement. I mean, I WAITED! Now I have to be honest, I think i expected a lot from this restaurant, as there is no other in the area like it. But the food is not what I thought. First off: the rice was very wanna be Puerto Rican and didn't reach its full potential. I mean, it was okay, but it lacked the flavor that Puerto Rican rice is known for. Come on now, this is a Cuban spot and should serve Cuban rice. If I wanted Puerto Rican rice, I would have stopped in a PR establishment. I wanted Cuban rice, but this is what they had besides white rice. It wasn't crowded at all, but they took a long time to fulfill the order, which surprised me. But let's get back to the food! Jibarrito (Grewn fried plantain sandwich) again is Puerto Rican, not Cuban. And the taste is not at all PR. Stop it and stick to the Cuban food we were promised. I will give them a better rating if it's warranted the 2nd time around, and I want them to succeed, but so far, it's not what I expect. I have to admit the dining area is nice, and it is good to come in to dine in, but the food better pick up speed as this is not what I expected.
