I stop here once a week on my way home. Never been disappointed. Reasonable prices for the food and service they provide- obviously don't go in expecting 5 star cuisine, but do expect to be satiated. As I've sat here waiting for over 45 minutes for my French toast, I've downloaded an app specifically to go out of my way to leave a bad review. My first time. I've come to cubbys weekly for 2-3 years. This will be my last time. Between wait time getting longer, the horrible noise from the chairs, discontinuing brunch and the menu being changed, this place is no longer even a subpar restaurant. This is an update to my earlier post. I honestly wanted to love this place so I told everyone about it, even requested a gift card to this place for my birthday and finally was able to go back yesterday to try something new. Unfortunately the "Original Mr. Beef" did not live up to the the standard I set at the earlier visit. I got the Boy style sauce and the wet option. Let me explain, the meat had this sort of gamey taste to it, seemed like no seasoning at all, they added some vegetables on top, which was a nice attempt of getting vegetables into your diet, but they didn't compliment the sandwich at all. Then they dipped it, just like it says, into their "secret sauce" which gave the sandwich a musty BO flavor and left the bread completely soggy, to be honest it was quite disgusting. Overall I was extremely disappointed, I thought I had finally found a place that was decent & local with everything on the menu being above par, guess I was wrong. Incredible food for the price. I got the tri tip sandwich with buffalo bleu cheese fries and it was excellent. The tri tip was well seasoned and the sauce was very good. The portions are plenty big and the menu has just enough to give options without being overwhelming. We waited 50 minutes for 2 sandwiches tonight. Just as we got up to leave, and get our money back, they brought us our cold sandwiches and cold soup out. Teenagers ran the restaurant. Not that I have a problem with that, but none of them seemed To know what they were doing. Too many on staff, too many standing around. The tables were dirty, and it wasn't that busy. Cubby's is..... ok. Pretty middle of the road in terms of taste. The portobello mushroom sandwich leaves something to be desired. It could really use either something sour or salty or just... flavorful, to round it off. Lemon, balsamic... salt... whatever. The steak salad was decent, albeit tough-ish and pretty small for the price. It came with about 1 oz of sub par salad dressing (needs salt) and then they want you to pay $1.25 for another half full, 1 oz ramekin... yikes guys. The sweet potato fries are a little burnt, but good because their chipotle aioli is there to save their ass. I'll probably go again... eventually. read more

Other than it feels like there air conditioner runs is set at 65 in the dead of winter, it has excellent hamburgers and a good selection to choose from. Much better than CHOM's for about the same price. read more

Cubby's is a little spendy, but man is it good and you get huge portion sizes. The tri-tip steak sandwich and the tri-tip steak salad are definitely the best things on the menus. The sweet potato fries are good too. The only thing I didn't really like was the buffalo fries. They weren't bad, but they were swimming in sauce (which made it taste a little bitter). man i love cubby's! I've eaten at cubby's only a few times, but i usually order the Mr. Beef and also some buffalo fries. I've never eaten any of the salads, but my friends have and they look incredible and are loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables and tempting combinations. The sandwich is always delicious, and the fries are original and tasty. Cubby's is always really clean and the guy at the register is friendly. It's a cool place to eat, i really like the woodwork on the north wall which create some funky vibes. I look forward to trying other things on their menu. They claim to use only fresh ingredients, not to freeze anything or take anything from a can, which i really appreciate. The place is often crowded because it is so popular. read more

Fantastic! I regularly go to Cubby's now, usually for the Tri Tip sandwich. If I'm really hungry I get sweet potato fries on the side. Every 3rd or 4th time I get the Houdini just to change it up. The other sandwiches are great too (with the exception of the "Mr. Beef" - just don't get that one... ever. I'll bet every bad review involves that sandwich). Cockadoodledoo and Dragonslayer are esp. good, but I don't get them because it means not getting a Tri Tip or Houdini! read more

Very casual place. Expensive. Busy. Loud. Decent Food. I have been here a handful of times and have tried much of the menu. The burgers are too dry. Out of everything I have tried, I would only recommend the tri-tip options: sandwich or salad. Both excellent. The buffalo fries are the best fry option. I keep going around trying to find a sandwich that can hold a candle to Cubby's burgers, but it is a hard thing to do. This restaurant is seriously amazing. Personal favorites are the Houdini and the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese. The mixture of savory beef with vegetables, sauces, and seasonings makes for a heavenly experience. I order the rosemary fries every time. They're the best in town. They also surprised me with their salads. Normally I'm not a salad eater, but the salads at Cubby's are delicious! And huge. Kudos to anyone who can finish one! Few restaurants fill me with an evangelical zeal to share with friends and family -- but this place does. I salivate when I think of Cubby's Tri Tip Steak Sandwich. It is heaven in the form of food. Sincerely. I get it with Sweet Sauce, no onions, and Bacon Bleu added. MY hub gets the caramelized onions and the hot sauce. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with whatever combination you decide to get. They have AMAZING beef. Delicious soft cookies, and really great sweet potato fries. It's all just way too good to be passed up. Any time any one comes to Provo/Lehi area from out of town, asking for a restaurant recommendation, I immediately send them to Cubby's. No questions asked. Well, no questions asked after asking them if they like MEAT. Because, holy hannah, this is the place for meat. Cubby's has always been a favorite of ours since it opened a few years ago. The cock-a-doodle doo is one of our favorites and we always have to get the buffalo blue fries. I eat here at least once a week. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My go to is the tri tip salad with a side of Mac and cheese or bleu cheese fries. So good. Definitely the best restaurant that has come out of Utah. Everything always tastes so fresh, and it's a filling meal that doesn't make you feel gross afterward. Also, the Whoopie pies are amazing. Very disappointed on our last visit. My husband specifically made a trip to a separate restaurant because I was craving a blue cheese burger. When he got home the Dragon Slayer he purchased was a regular hamburger patty, no blue cheese. When I called and spoke with the manager she told me the blue cheese was in there, I have had this particular hamburger before and on this visit it was not a blue cheese hamburger. She offered me no solution and her response was "sorry". I don't think I will be going back to Cubbys, especially not the Provo location. I do realize restaurants are doing their best during Covid however my main reaction to the situation was how the manager handled things. Tried this place for the first time! Food was really good. We both got the tri tip salad, my husband is picky with his lettuce so they were able to substitute the arugula romaine mix with spring mix! Salads are big and come with the perfect amount of dressing. We also got sweet potatoes fries which were soooooo good! So crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside. My COVID experience here wasn't great, but the food is great as always. I'm not a huge fan of the tri-tip steak salad (although I typically love salads). This place used to be great. Been there many times. But the visit tonight was horrible. Everything was terrible order chicken noodle soup awful. Ordered tomato basil and they literally forgot that they stored it in the refrigerator and did not warm it up. It was ice cold one burger was orders with no cheese and of course cheese came on the burger another burger which was going to be split was ordered with pickles on the side but of course the pickles were on it, the sweet potato fries were good but for six dollars it needs to be more than just a handful. All the burgers have been shrunken down to miniature size. Please do not waste your money or your time. Do not go to this restaurant it's terrible. BTW, the reason I haven't been to cubbies lately is because the lines were so long because the food was great. The portions were big I just went there tonight at 7 o'clock on a Monday night prime time in Mormon Ville and the place was a ghost town, not a single person in the restaurant besides our group at 7 o'clock enough said. read more

During my viewing of the PBS documentary on the sandwich, I knew I had to get my hands on an Italian Beef. Alas, I have not made it to Chicago since I desired the Italian Beef, good thing I found Cubby's. This place is great. Sandwich was amazing, great beef, good bread and just juicy and spicy enough. Cubby's is great restaurant, I tried the tri tip sandwich and the "dragonslayer" Angus burger and both were incredible! Full flavor, the tri tip was smoky, nice and sweet with a hint of spicy in the sauce. The burger was really good as well, so tender and wasn't smothered in sauces or condiments. Like others have said, this place has great meat! The sweet potatoe fries were really great as well, definitely give them a try! TL;DR Meat lovers unite! Try the sweet potatoe fries ;) read more
