    I'm giving extra space one star because of price and security…read more Over the course of 2-3 years I went from paying $750 to paying $975 for my storage unit with no explanation why. After asking folks around me, each person was paying a different price starting around $850. It seems like Extraspace would keep raising rates to figure out what the market would pay, not because their costs were going up. I was on autopay, never late paying, and was rarely there. The other issue is that I was paying for a gate secured storage unit but more times than not I would show up and the gate would be wide open. I have also seen numerous people who didn't have storage units inside the gate, not secure if you ask me. The other issue is they did not have generator backup so if they lost power, you could not get into your storage unit. It happened twice and no outreach or reimbursement was offered. The employees were fine, I would never do business here, go find a locally owned facility so your aren't paying for the corporate greed.

Both of them answered my (many) questions and took the time to explain the different options I could consider. I reserved a unit remotely and hoped everything would fall into place when I returned to RI to move my items. When I got to town and finally had a chance to visit the facility, I was impressed by the security, cleanliness, and overall operation. I had a chance to meet Lori and Brian, and both were just as amazingly helpful in person as they were on the phone! If you're looking for a storage facility, look no further! Take it from me, this is the best one around!

When I arrived to pick up truck and auto transport the Auto transport was stuck in the mud and could not be removed. I told rep I would pick up auto transport another day as I had to still load truck. I drove the 26ft truck straight home & had movers start loading it. Monday I needed to move truck from driveway & wouldn't start, Ignition was preventing key from turning truck on as it seemed locked up. I contacted Uhaul & spoke w/2 individuals Keon being my main contact sent vendor to my house after 2hrs of waiting & having movers stand around because if truck couldn't be fixed I didn't want it fully loaded. When vendor showed up he said ignition needed to be replaced. Vendor installed new ignition & still wouldn't turn over unless using pliers. Regional Mgr said just do that. I had to drive the truck 1000 miles. I had no choice since I needed to be out of house within 24 hrs. When I went back to get auto transport the jack was hyperextended & would not lower. Field manager did fix problem. When I drove truck south I drove into a storm & wipers did not work. This was not told to me wipers did not work on a 2019 truck. I could not pull over due to heavy rain & a revine on side of road. This truck is not that old of a truck & is in unsafe conditions for the next renter. No one should be forced to drive with faulty equipment & for a regional manager to tell a customer that using pliers will be okay should not be representing a company. Uhaul has failed to correct this problem & issue any type of refund. Customer Service reps hang up as I'm telling speaking with them.

Is it hella convenient having your stuff securely stored right in your driveway to conveniently access? Absolutely!! Let's be clear. PODS is based on convenience and there's a price to pay for that. I booked my storage unit over the phone and that worked best for me. The website is great to manage billing and eventually arrange pickup but I felt more confident speaking to a person to get things rolling. Was there a long wait to speak to someone?? Yes indeedy. But I'm finding that long waits are the norm these days with the current pandemic staffing issues just about everywhere. The person who assisted me over the phone was pleasant and helpful. I clearly understood what was included along with fees. The delivery was exactly as promised and the gentleman who delivered was an absolute peach. It's quite an operation getting that storage unit placed but he navigated it like a pro! (P.s. - my kids were entertained for a good half hour watching the production) I will say the monthly rental price motivated me to get that unit squared away and emptied. Scheduling pickup was a breeze and they arrived at the time promised. I'd recommend and use again...

Then took another week to deliver it. They had the pod half the time I paid for. They dropped it off with 2 days left in the month. Promptly charge me an additional month "rental" on the 1st. I unloaded it by the 2nd...funny though when they were told it was empty they could pick it up early in under 3 days. Go another way. This isn't it. Terrible service.

    I had the worst moving experience with this company. I had a few large pieces of antique furniture…read moremoved from RI to MA. They sped through packing up everything in RI and I was surprised when I heard from my friend that they were already en route to my home in MA. When I returned home that evening (my husband was home during the move), the first thing I saw were 3 large pieces of an armoire placed on top of my trash barrels outside with part of the facade laid on top. The remaining parts of the armoire were broken in multiple pieces. One shelf was missing. A painted bureau that had been in perfect condition prior was found to have a broken base that later completely collapsed. Three of the legs were split with missing shards. Another bureau had black streaks on the front. Finally, they were also unable to move an armoire out of a room, a piece was successfully moved into that same room years ago and that I was to deliver to a friend. This was absolutely the worst job I have ever seen. They do not even deserve one star. I provided detailed photo's of the broken parts to the company, but they made up their own version of the events and did not agree to a complete refund ($1280 with tip). They offered us $100 initially and then $300 when we protested. I now have to pay for the repairs and am not sure I will see any of the money. To add insult to injury I am missing a pair of gold earings that had been left in my room and suspect they may have taken them. My parent's independent living facility required that I select a mover on their "trusted" list. My brother had used Lawton movers the week prior based on the price they offered him and their seeming nice to deal with on the phone. Had they been careful and gone more slowly, they certainly would have made more money. In the end it would have paid off for me.

    I used these guys three times. The first time was an awesome experience. The second time was pretty…read moregood. The third time was not great. This particular moving crew was pretty slow. But the worst part was when they were wrapping up. I had to run out to the store so my girlfriend was there to square everything away with them. Having used them twice before, I had a vague idea of what it was going to cost since we were moving the same items pretty much the same distance. Although this time, due to water damage and mold, I was only moving about half the items and furniture. She called me while I was waiting in line at the store, and the cost they gave her was absolutely astronomical. They were saying it was an eight hour minimum. This was not told to me the few times I spoke with them prior to the job. This also was not the case the two previous times I used them. If I had known that was the case, I never would've hired them because I knew it would only be about a four hour job (including travel time) tops. Knowing this, why would I agree to an eight hour minimum, doubling my cost? When I called them, the gentleman I spoke with was extremely aggressive and rude. He basically said there was no way this was not communicated to me, and I was lying. Since I was standing in line at the store, this was especially stressful and aggravating having to play he said/she said and argue in circles. I was shocked. Long story short, it was the end of the day, and this was a stressful move. He would not budge at all, and only agreed to charge for seven hours begrudgingly. This was basically extortion. We have 3 large men at your home with your girlfriend, and they are not going to leave unless you pay us double. I felt helpless. He was extremely rude, unprofessional, and argumentative the entire time. I would not recommend this company to anyone and certainly will not use them for yet another upcoming move. I thought I finally found a great moving company. Very disappointed.
