He was so out of shape that he was gassed in the first three hours. He stood and watched the guy in the truck pack the truck. Training is not supposed to happen on the job if a client is paying for you as a worker. I'm 57 years old and I had more hustle in me than this young guy. Half way through the move they sent another guy to help out and keep the cost of 3 guys but he had smoked-up and also ran out of energy before the job was done. My boxes were all labeled and they piled them up in the living room. I had to ask them to bring them to the kitchen etc. They wanted me to pay before they were even finished. There's more to write, I just don't want to relive it. Not once did anyone act with urgency, I moved the entire storage unit myself. If I would have relied on the movers it would have cost me two more hours. The trainee scratched my kitchen table, I brought it to the lead movers attention, it did not factor into reducing the cost. If I damaged a clients property I would expect to be charged, no consideration was given when we paid the bill.

In August 2016 J&M Moving of North Providence Rhode Island moved all my belongings from Natick MA into storage. I moved to a furnished condo in South Carolina and in February 2017 I called J&M to bring my furniture to South Carolina. In March a load arrived although the carrier had no help, and I had to hire someone to help him move my belongings. Much of my furniture was missing. I called J&M. They sent another load 6 weeks later and indicated that a top had come off a container with much of my fine china a crystal. I was never told this although I was present for the entire move. J& M arranged for another carrier to ship my fine goods. They arrived IN A CARDBOARD BOX even though I had packed everything carefully in a hard sided enclosure. Pictures of my broken items are shown later. Much of what was broken was priceless 19th century china. J&M paid a china claim but I believe it was because they put in a claim against the other carrier. I was still missing half of an oak vanity and a large container of horseback riding gear worth a great deal of money. J&M do not answer my phone calls or respond to my requests. The attorney general's office in Rhode Island has not responded to my complaints. I received a short email saying they did not know whose jurisdiction this falls under and were investigating this.

They totally didn't mind us helping the process along to get it done in as little time as possible, as long as we stayed off the truck itself. And bonus soundtrack of slow 90's R&B jams on truck: "Cuz tonight, baby, I WANNA GET FREAKY WITH YOU!" And then they drove on to another job for the afternoon! Everything placed just where I wanted it, nothing broken, this was the lowest stress moving day of my life. Highly recommended!

Regional manager never calls you back, even after being a customer for years when you try to get price adjusted. App doesn't work properly for payments resulting in late fees. No lights in units. Climate controlled units are nearly as cold and damp as outside in winter. Pigeons must be in units because some of my furniture had white bird poop spots on it. Just moved to a to facility, warm inside, lights and 1/3 the cost. Stay far away from CubeSmart.

Rodent infested- doors of the building left open. I rented…read moremy unit for over a year without any issues besides him raising the rent 2-3x. A few months ago I noticed mouse droppings in my unit so I contacted the owner who had been great up until that point. His response to my inquiry is below. The owner pretty much told me to pound sand and then started to charge my credit card a monthly fee to put traps inside of my unit. I stored nothing even close to food in my unit- only clothes and furniture. I took it upon myself to go out, buy mothballs and change them out every few months. I chalked this up to incompetency and simply poor business skills on the owners part until we ran into another issue.... Last Friday night we went to the storage facility to find the two front doors of the building completely unlocked! The key pad was working but the door never locked behind us. We waited 15 minutes to see if that changed but nope- the doors remained unlocked with no one else at the facility... The entire building was left exposed to anyone in the neighborhood with a set of bolt cutters. We took videos and pictures of this figuring it would most likely fall on deaf ears seeing how ignorant the owners first response to us was. We hired movers and had our belongings transferred to another facility yesterday. Once we got into the back of the unit we found the actual damage to our stuff. The mice chewed through wires and pretty much used our unit as a public waste area. Im well aware that every storage facility is going to have some type of rodent problem but to respond to customers who have entrusted you with their valuables in this way is unacceptable and a clear representation of what you will get if your store your items with this company. "Please keep in mind we have over 300 customers storing their belongings here. Our rental agreement states clearly no food products allowed however we cannot verify what people bring into the building at all times which is why every storage facility including ours contracts exterminators monthly to keep rodents and insects to a minimum. I've fined people for storing 10lbs bags of rice and pasta ‍ Keep in mind every restaurant you've ever eaten has also mice no matter if it's a Michelin star or McDonald's. I was doing you a solid by offering to check the trap. I will gladly remove our lock if this is going to be an issue. Please advise. "

I was led to believe that my furniture would be in its own little storage compartment and not get disturbed. The furniture that I kept was all mid century collectible furniture in excellent condition. I ended up moving back into my house two years later. Almost every single piece of furniture was damaged or banged up in some way. On one of the larger pieces was a sign indicating it was in a storage room for oversize pieces. For sure my furniture was not in its own little compartment, and it obliviously was carelessly moved around many times. They sent someone to "repair" the damage which basically entailed covering it up with a magic marker. A really disappointing experience. Would not trust them again with anything valuable to me.
