I replied that if they stopped me and gave me a fine, they would respond and he told me no. And just for telling them in an annoying tone that they should do their damn job, they reported me and now they don't want to rent me for expressing my feelings about the situation. It was better when workers with experience and desire to work took care of anything you needed and helped you. Now the young people, especially the manager, are very lazy people who cover what their teammates do.

Literally the worst experience ever…read more Last year I used their services for the first time when I was moving. I rented a 15' truck which moves 1 Bedroom Home - 2 Bedroom Apartment. I paid about $30 plus mileage. First time experience was okay. Since I recently bought a house, I needed to move again. This time I also needed a 15' truck again. When we were almost done, and ready to make a payment the cashier told me I was unable to complete the transaction because I had a "pending payment". Last year when I was returning the truck I asked the cashier if I needed to make any extra payments, she checked and said I was good to go. Now, this guy is telling me that because I didn't pay $1 "environmental" fee from last year, I wasn't able to complete my transaction. But not only that, $1 fee turned into a $50 bill for "LATE PAYMENT". Seriously? I've would have totally paid the dollar if I was informed in first place, but I never was. The lady even said that after returning the truck you have 14 days to make that payment at no extra cost. I am so mad no one informed me before about this, being that part of their jobs. I finally told them they were 3 times higher than same size storage nearby but they said it doesn't matter. So I moved to a competitor and now paying 1/3 rental rate. This is taking advantage of my need for this unit. This is far too large an increase, and $347.00 was already far too high. I could understand if I had more amenities, but it's only a concrete floor, the unit door is extremely hard to open, and dust blows in because the unit is not properly sealed. I know rats are in there because I have seen their turds. Insulation hangs from the ceiling. I will probably have to toss out a lot of things because of the rats and small animals.

It shot up to $224 (51%) from May to this April 2022 when it shot up another 33% to $300+. In effect in one year, it more than doubled: $148 to $300 = +$152 or 103%!!!! I have been a customer for more than 8 years and have had 2 Units at one point. The rates were reasonable, Management was very helpful. Location was great! Highway robbery you say? I think that this business is almost completely immune to inflation (brick and mortar) so why the ripoff. Demand & Supply? well OK - but don't rob us blind! Be extra careful - once you're in, and hooked, at an online rate, they'll raise your rates without notification, indiscriminately to whatever they see fit... I'm out of there... how about you?

Extra Space on N. Berkeley Lake Rd, Duluth, GA allowed building D to become completely invested…read morewith rats due to a customer who violated the storage rules. Our unit, not even close to the offending unit, was first covered in feces as the animals roamed the whole building. Then, when Extra Space got it together and took drastic action there were/are dead rats all over the building. I need to mention that everything written so far was not learned from Extra Space notifying us of the problem and how they were going to solve. No, we received NOTHING from Extra Space. No email or phone call that there was a problem. No notification when they treated the building, what chemicals were used, cautions. Nothing. When we moved our belongings out of storage last fall 2023, we didn't know what to expect. As soon as we opened the unit one of my hired moving guys pointed into the unit and said, "there's a dead rat". This was the start of finding four more dead rats in and around our belongings. We trashed about a third of what was stored in the unit due to the extent the infestation had. This was just our unit! The others, many, have to be similarly affected and contaminated. I requested three months refund to help cover our loss. Nothing. To date Extra Space corporate has not communicated in any way. Their response throughout the entire time from discovery of the issue to eradication of the animals to treating their customers like, well, customers who pay for the services Extra Space offers is nonexistent. It's either incompetence, cowardice or both.
