We have been on the road for several years and couldn't move out of this location, otherwise we would have. The staff cost us a LOT of money! We moved from a small unit to two larger units, then had relatives come by and take things out while we traveled. When they got us down to one large unit, we asked staff to make sure that we had the same gate access code. The person we talked to (Leo?) assured us that would be the case. A family member rented a truck and brought a friend out from Chicago to pick up some things. They couldn't get in, and since it was the weekend, nobody was in the office. So they wasted the cost of the truck rental and their time. Then after we got that straightened out, we were able to downsize to one smaller unit. I called Leo again, and he assured me that the gate code would be the same. Again, the relative rented another truck and got a helper - guess what, the gate code had been changed again, even though Leo promised us it wouldn't be. Asked point blank, Leo said he had no idea that gate codes changed automatically when renters moved into different units. It wasn't until AFTER this that we were told about the kiosk in the office entryway, but that might not have helped because when our relative arrived, we were out of cell range and couldn't have provided login info. Then when we finally left the facility completely, they wouldn't pro-rate the month's rent (we left on the 3rd). "Company policy!" I guess company policy overrides the money and time we wasted believing your staff when they said we could use the same gate code. And again, they had raised the rate on us. The new place we rented with a competitor cost us less than half what we were paying at Global Storage, and it has far superior carts for moving items into/out of storage. We often had to go hunting for carts because there aren't enough spread around. Also, the exterior doors have door stops on them, to prop open the doors - and most of those door stops are broken! The last day, when we moved out, a man was cleaning fishing equipment and other stuff right in the main entrance near our unit. He blocked access for about 45 minutes, so we had to go the long way around to our stuff. Staff should have noticed this on their video system and asked him to move. Currently, there are a lot of empty units at this storage facility, and now I know why.

I found the perfect sized unit at a great price, the unit was very clean, carpeted and climate controlled! And to top it off the renting of the truck for 3 1/2 hours on my moving day came with the rental. I though it was too good to be true but I called them anyway and all of it was true so they definitely won me over from Public Storage. Best Decision Ever!!

Since I'm moving, I had to get a larger unit for my move they made it seamless. It took less than 15 minutes to transfer for a new account which was time efficient. The facility is open until 10 pm which is great for people who work late hours and sometimes can't go during normal business hours. The rates are good and it's why I've stuck with them for the past few years.

The roof was caving in and particles kept falling on my items, mold was atrocious. Obviously, if I store it, it is important to me. However, not to them. The mice were also entering and eating any bags or boxes. It was very upsetting. Thank goodness for new owners. I was going to move the next hike in price when I decided to voice my concerns with new owner. Right away, Pricilla, property manager reached out and immediately moved me to a better, clean and close by unit. As difficult as it is to move, I immediately started to move before my belongings completely got destroyed. This new owner is awesome. Really know what customer service is. Comforting because customer service has long been gone and non-existent. Thank you, Priscilla. I was definitely on my way out to a new storage facility, however, having heard my concerns definitely made me stay here. Would definitely recommend, now.

I was inundated with texts and emails and ultimately had a $505.00 total due with $185/mo locker!! Beware!! Fat cat that ownes this place is a blood sucker that will jack your payment so high that you wont pay and they will slap a lein on you and they will take your possessions!

Although the facilities are nice, beware of large yearly increases in rent. There's no on site garbage either. And when I complained about the large price increase for no reason, the did come down a very little bit, until I told them I was moving my stuff out then my price was increased for the last month. We are extremely disappointed with U-Stor-It's communication practices. When we fell behind on…read morepayments, they failed to communicate consistently or clearly about how serious the situation had become. In the past, when something truly urgent came up, they would call or at least send multiple forms of communication -- phone calls, emails, and letters -- so we knew to act immediately. This time, they switched to only email without any phone calls or clear indication that an auction was imminent. We had no idea things had escalated so far until it was too late. If you value your belongings, be aware that their communication practices are unreliable when it matters most.
