Visited Cubist Circle for dinner after spending most of the day at the beach and was pleasantly surprised with their food! This restaurant is HUGE and has lots of seating. They also have a bar area, sushi bar, and a downstairs that can be rented out for events. We tried the salted duck yolk ribs, salt & pepper calamari, dan dan noodles, chili oil wontons, and mango green tea. The mango green tea tasted refreshing and similar to how they have mango green teas at boba tea spots. 4.5/5 The dan dan noodles were actually pretty good. I really enjoyed this dish and I typically don't enjoy dan dan noodles but this was yum. It had a peanut butter taste with a nice kick; I love peanut butter noodles. 5/5 The chili oil wontons were okay. They were a bit bland and wished it could've been saltier. Not much flavor for this dish. 3/5 My favorite dish we got was the salted duck egg yolk ribs! I highly recommend. The salted egg yolks paired well with the ribs. It was perfect! 5/5 My least favorite dish that we ordered was their salt and pepper calamari. They dressed it with a lot of cumin, which was fine, but the calamari itself was extremely disappointing because the "squid" was super soggy and had no crunch at all (slight crunch is usually expected with most Chinese spots' calamari). We actually were not sure if there was even any squid in this dish and if it was just batter. Would not get this again. 0/5 Overall, not a bad meal. Most likely never getting the calamari again. The salted egg yolk ribs were FIRE, MUST GET! As well as their green tea. Our server was nice and attentive. Every time she walked by, she poured us more water. We all each had 3-4 cups of water this meal because we were all parched from being out in the sun all day. Would come here again if in the area ;)

Found this spot as a place to go after the beach in nantasket. Over in weymouth we walked it it honestly have temple like vibes (what it may have been as a facility in the past) Open area seating, sushi bar room and drinking bar room. The place is large: The booths have a lot of space and as you sit down, you'll probably sink into the seats like we did and the table becomes pretty high to eat on haha. At first the menu was pretty large and pricing seemed a bit on the more pricey side, but we made a couple selections to try. Fried ribs in duck yolk was a 5/5 crispy, crunchy, flavor was had a good balance of saltiness and the yolk; you just wanted more. The chili wontons is as you would expect from a wonton/dumpling. Could have used a bit more seasoning on the filling, kind of wish they had baby shrimp in there or something for a difference in textures. Overall enjoyable. The dan dan noodles wasn't really sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised and we gobbled that dish up. It has peanut type sauce over top and hot chili sauce on bottom so be sure to use the provided Tongs to thoroughly mix. Scrumptious The green tea mango drink tasted yummy, like at a boba tea shop! The salt pepper calamari that i normally get at any establishment that we eat at, was the only real let down. Seasoned heavily with cumin i think, but it was NOT crispy and was just mushy with each bite. It made us feel the need to inspect to see if there was even any squid inside or was it just batter. I would NOT order this particular dish and opt for the salt pepper wings next time. All in all a good experience. Our server was super nice, she was working the room solo today, bussing, packing take out orders and serving tables. Cheers to her she kept our waters full and was attentive.

Great food at great prices! This restaurant is located in a weird spot, but the food is amazing and is definitely a hidden gem. I've only come here for a quick casual meal, but the vibes can create a more intimate dinner spot if thats what you're looking for. There's never been a wait the three times I've visited (weekday lunch and Friday dinner). Food is also quick to come out. I love the eggplant dish. I typically don't like eggplants, but the seasoning and sauce they have is amazing. Chicken in chili oil is also good. It tastes authentic, though it could use a little more flavor. The dry pot and fried rice were very good, but also very spicy! Definitely recommend a visit if you enjoy spicy Chinese cuisine. I would say the prices here are a lot better than the restaurants in Quincy/Wollaston.

This place is a bit obscure. They have large parking spot and the restaurant is spacious. No music was played when I was there and servers sure took their time before taking my orders. Despite the delay, server was nice and friendly. I ordered seaweed salad, steamed siumai, pork dumpling in Szechuan sauce, and beef stew noodle. Food was great. Szechuan sauce dumpling was less spicy than expected, beef stew broth was a bit bland but its great food nevertheless.

We enjoyed a nice, authentic sichuan Chinese dinner at Cubist Circle recently. it appears to be a pretty popular place as people are constantly coming in. The atmosphere is very hairy due to that extremely high ceilings and bright lighting, which I enjoyed compared to many other Chinese restaurants that have dim lighting or don't really have a nice decor. Service is very fast and efficient. We ordered fried green beans, spicy wontons, Dan Dan noodles and chicken wings which were all very good. Prices were reasonable at mid-teens to $20 per dish.

It's so great to find such a nice restaurant! The crispy pork rib with egg yolk was amazing! And the Sizchuan numb pepper chicken was really authentic! The Spicy Mung Bean noodle was okay, little bit plain. The overall food was pretty good, and the price was very good considering in MA. The staff were super nice and friendly! Strongly recommended!

Probably my favorite place for authentic Chinese food. The service is good. The interior is beautiful. Tonight, we got some new menu items like coconut chicken hot pot, Pickled Paper Bullfrog Pot, Honey Walnut shrimp and sweet sour pork. The Coconut Chicken Hotpot broth was delicious from the Two Whole Coconuts added to it. The Chicken was very Tender and Juicy. The Pickled Paper Bullfrog Pot was Spicy. The Frog tasted like chicken with A tender texture.Honey Walnut Shrimp had a Crispy Skin cover in Mayo. It was sweet and delicious. Sweet Sour Fried Pork had a crunchy skin with a sweet and sour taste. Also Fried Pork Ribs with Duck Egg Yolk, Orange Maki and Szechuan Steamed Pork Dumplings . Highly recommend to go

Our family of 7 celebrated my mom's birthday this past week at Cubist Circle. Since we usually default to Cantonese cuisine for authentic Chinese, we thought this would be a great alternative. The restaurant was spacious and bright and they also have 2 additional bars in other rooms, one for drinks and another for sushi; plenty of space if you wanted to host an event here. Per our usual, we ordered too much food but that just means I can dish out a more comprehensive review! I love the varied menu and that it's part Szechuan cuisine and part sushi so there's something for everyone, especially since we were a larger party with picky kids. As starters, we ordered some maki rolls (spicy yellowtail, Winter and the salmon avocado), crab rangoons, vegetarian fried dumplings, steamed pork and leek dumplings and the Circle Crispy Duck. Not bad for the first round but I wouldn't say these were the highlight of our meal (3.5 stars for the sushi and 3 stars for the dumplings and the duck). The duck was a little dry and we're probably just spoiled with the dumplings we're used to eating in NY and I know it isn't fair to compare like that. The favorites of the day were D.7 fried pork rib with egg yolk, D.15 fish fillet with chili pepper and E.11 Circle lo mein. For the first two dishes, it was definitely our first time having it prepared this way and it surprised us how tasty it was. The fish fillet came with what looked like spaghetti on the sides and while I questioned it when it first came to the table, the flavors went well when mixed into the chili peppered fish. My daughter had the teriyaki chicken entree and gave it a seal of approval as evidenced with her very clean plate. All in all, a very welcome addition to the neighborhood and one of a kind in the South Shore for Szechuan cuisine - very authentic.

Wow, finally found an authentic Chinese restaurant outside of Cambridge/Boston! I first found this place on Chowbus. Then read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a stand alone building right across from BJs. It has a private parking lot. Behind the building has a construction that looks like a new apartment complex. We came right at opening on the weekend, so not crowded. The inside is very spacious. Not sure if the tables have been positioned to be socially distanced or always this way. There is a main dining hall, with a sushi bar to the left. Looks like a private dining room in the back as well. We chose the main booth on the side. The menu is rather expansive. It starts with the classic Sichuan/Chinese with Japanese options at the end. We ordered eggplant, crab Rangoon, string beans, beef & tripe, and dry pot. They are all so so good! My favorite is always the string beans. The eggplant was also delicious! Crab Rangoon comes with 8 pieces of generous serving size. I was simply blown away! Despite the spacious dining room and high ceiling, the indoor air quality was borderline acceptable ranging between CO2 level 700 - 1100 ppm. They don't have outdoor dining as of October 2022. The food is amazing. That being said, it's not "cheap." Better come with friends and share some dishes! I will definitely be back again! Highly recommend it!

Authentic Chinese in Weymouth? Almost, but we're not Quincy are we. The Cubist Circle is by far the best Weymouth has to offer. Though lacking live fish wells, they do it right. The Salt and Pepper Wings were spot on. Beef n Broccoli... check . Scallion pancake, crazy flaky. The Crispy Duck stole the show. Dipped in hoisin sauce. News flash. Ducks have bones. Pork and Leek Dumplings, Devine. Get this, they had Bacon Fried Rice. You know I'm getting that right? Only complaint. Where da hot mustard?

The general gao chicken- the meat was cooked well. But the sauce was very nauseating, it was basically jelly when i received it and heated it up. I ate a few pieces and threw the rest away. When i tilted the spoon the sauce didn't move. That and they did not provide me with white rice- which is supposed to be included in the meal. The crab rangoons were just ok, some were over fried. The dumplings were good though. Food: 2/5 Prices: The prices are decent. Fair I'd say. Can't speak for service or ambiance as i ordered for delivery.

Cubist Circle has two locations: one in Weymouth and one in Brookline. The exterior of this restaurant might not look glamorous - but it's always fun to find hidden gems in the suburbs and Cubist Circle is definitely one of those gems. Food: Their menu is HUGE and offers a variety of dishes ranging from noodle, rice, soups, dumplings, to even sushi. Since they feature Szechuan cuisine, be mindful that many options are spicy. We ordered the following: 1) Dan Dan Noodle (spicy) 成都担担面 ($11.55) - 4/5, chewy noodles immersed in chili oil with minced pork on top 2) Beef Fried Rice with Pickled Mustard Green 酸菜肥牛炒饭 ($13.95) - 3/5, it was slightly too salty for me personally but overall still a very solid fried rice 3) Pea Pod Shoot with Garlic 蒜蓉豆苗 ($19.95) - 4/5, fresh and not too oily (I feel like this dish is simple yet tricky to master. I tend to order this dish as a staple every time I visit a Chinese restaurant just to see how they stir fry vegetables) 4) Chicken in Chili Oil 口水鸡 ($14.55) - 5/5, this is my favorite dish out of the five things we ordered. Very tender meat and refreshing as a cold appetizer. 5) Grilled Whole Fish in Tomato Sauce 番茄烤鱼 ($37.95) - 4/5, this was the main course of our meal - it came in a rectangular warmer. I wish I had ordered a bowl of white rice as well because this dish is perfect for that but I was too busy trying to finish all the other dishes. Environment: A very spacious environment for both large and small groups. Parking: There is a big parking lot available for customers. Overall, I would be interested in coming back again since their menu offers so many options!

I recently wrote a review for the 'Hot & New' Omori in Quincy. While I am not a detractor of Omori,…read morethe experience there left something to be desired. This is due to some creative decisions I disagree with and, at times, very little eel. Meanwhile, Sake Japanese Restaurant hits just the right spot! The creative decisions were excellent, with everything coming together splendidly. The fish was fresh and in more than generous amounts. This, in turn, makes the cost of about $20 per roll seem reasonable and makes it much easier to stomach (I didn't intend the pun, but I will own it). Regarding the Holiday and the Kevin Page, these maki rolls are similar. Both shine with the white fish on top and generous amounts of tuna (and salmon in the Holiday's case) within. The eel and cucumber add a pleasant new dimension to the pieces. I'd say these two are like identical twins adopted by different families. Each will have some unique personality and flair, but at the core, they are one. The crazy tuna brought something different to the table. While I am generally not a fan of the chopped-up style of fish, here it just works, and I didn't mind it. If I were to guess, this is because many places have more tempura than fish and add too much spicy mayo. Despite the style, the tuna was still able to shine through. For the inside, I enjoyed the crunch and freshness of the cumber with the sweetness and savory notes from the eel. Finally, the service was polite and speedy, though it wasn't bustling. Thus, not only would I happily return to Sake, but I would love to order the same three rolls again, for they were *that* good.
