I visited this restaurant for the first time today, and it will certainly be my last. Ordered almost $100 worth of food, made up of 5 combination dinner dishes. 3 of these were rice plates, with shrimp lobster sauce, and egg foo yung, all with fried rice. When I got home with these take outs, 30 min ride away, I opened my takeout boxes to have lunch. The two fried rice plates were spoiled, Not "not too fresh" or "a bit stale".. They had that outright spoiled smell, like when you leave food out un-refrigerated for about 3 days. I had to put these in the trash. Then I smelled the shrimp lobster sauce, which were packaged separately from the spoiled rice and didn't smell spoiled.. I had fresh white rice at home, so I added the lobster sauce to make my own lunch plate. Then I put the lobster sauce into my mouth and my head was filled with question marks.. The lobster sauce was SWEET! I've had lobster sauce from 2 or 3 hundred Chinese takeout places. Some are more salty than others, some have a black bean taste; it varies. But this is the first time when I've had lobster sauce where the dominant taste was sweetness. That's not what I wanted. It's like having coffee but instead of sweet someone added salt. Or having spaghetti but with maple syrup. It tasted weird, and unpleasant. I had to throw this out too. So, out of 5 dishes, 3 were spoiled, 1 was weirdly and inappropriately sweet, and the last one, according to my son who ate it, said it "wasn't very good". I write many reviews, and read them too. When I see a one star review citing horrible customer service or whatever, I mostly attribute those to the owners of nearby rival restaurants, trying to kill the business of a competitor. Here I am giving a one star review for the first time. If you feel skeptical, please feel free to read some of my other restaurant reviews. I tend to be very detailed and descriptive, and I call it like it is. I have no interest in artificially boosting or hurting a restaurant's ratings. I am just a guy wo eats out a lot and like to share my personal experience and opinions. So, for this time, my advice is to stay away from this very bad restaurant. read more

I've gotten food here many times. Great food, good quantity prices are average to other places. They do need to work on consistency on ingredients. I always get chicken fried rice and chicken lo mein ... Sometimes there was barely any chicken, sometimes no water chestnuts, sometimes it was overloaded with water chestnuts.. a couple of times the lo mein was just plain noodles.. no sauce. On average... Yay for the sushi, nay on the Chinese food... My husband and I ordered sushi & Chinese food for take out. Sushi tasted fresh and was a good portion size. For the Chinese food, I was impressed with the crab rangoon and beef teriyaki; rangoons were overstuffed and creamy as can be while the beer teriyaki was some of the most tender and flavorful I've had in a long, long time! However, the fried rice was not that great. It tasted bland like it was missing something. The major crime committed here: orange duck sauce! I prefer the brown kind. Sushi was good, but the rice was a little too sticky so it was a bit hard to eat and the aawsabi was little spicy bit not too spicy. Came out quickly and was hot so service is good. A small shop in the middle of nowhere but very nice and cute. read more

Quick friendly service, take out. Love all the food, but the spicy dishes such as kung pao or general gau are not spicy at all. Kung pao shrimp dinner had only 5 shrimp and not many peanuts. Quality of food is great but not enough spice where it should be. Egg foo young, rice, crab Rangoon etc, not a bad meal whatever you get. Tried this place on the way home on a whim because our usual place is closed on Tuesdays. So glad we did! Didn't realize it was takeout only, so had to hustle home with our grub. Hubs had the Hot & Sour soup & California Roll - he says solid 4.5 stars. Little Miss gives the steamed gyoza 4 stars (they're like dumplings). I tried the Angry Dragon - awesome! Delivery took longer than usual, over 45 minutes, but food arrived hot and I appreciated being able to swap the chicken fingers out with an egg roll. When it arrived it smelled fishy though I hadn't ordered anything with seafood; upon opening the miso soup, I realized where the smell was coming from and still attempted to taste it which was a mistake considering how awful something so bland can be...honestly mind blowing. The soup put me off for a while and I wasn't in the mood to eat anything else ordered, spicy edamame, white rice, beef teriyaki, boneless spear ribs and an egg roll. At least it's Chinese food and will be good later. Holy cow, talk about the whole book/cover adage coming to absolute life with this unadorned, and otherwise missable walk-in in Rockland. Big ups to Yelpers for floating Spicy E to the top. Chirashi is a hefty portion of impossibly fresh fish. I swear there's some magic in cryogenics going on behind the scenes here because each piece of sashimi was expertly cut, buttery soft and clean on the palate. And the veggies - bright, firm and crisp, complementing the their textures beautifully. I also went angry dragon roll because I thought I'd be able to eat beyond the salad and miso soup that came with the chirashi donburi (spoiler: I couldn't. This review covers two meals), and it's spectacular. Mango offsets a melange of spicy tuna, crab and shrimp tempura in a fairly unique maki. Hell, even everyone's favorite grease tube - the egg roll - was hot, crunchy and with no excess oil. This place is awesome - excellent food, reasonably priced and with zero food coma afterward. Get past the storefront and trust your gut, Spicy Edamame is straight fire. read more

Hey, every restaurant review needs context, and this one is rating Spicy Edamame 5 stars for being our go-to local Chinese food spot! The food probably wouldn't stand up compared to a gourmet spot in the city, or a super authentic spot in Chinatown, but when our family is hungry and dinner isn't planned, we pull up the Spicy Edamame app! Our regular order is the family dinner for 4 (leaves our family of 6 STUFFED, with multiple leftover lunches ready in the fridge afterwards - so much food! General Gaos Chx, Kung Pao Beef, Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, Eggrolls, Boneless Ribs, Chx wings, Chx fingers, teriyaki chx and enough duck sauce to take a bath in! We used to love this place and ordered take out and delivery a few times per month. However, we ordered a delivery online while driving home late from the airport and I accidentally forgot to include a tip (additional to the delivery fee). When the driver delivered the food, he yelled at my mother and demanded a tip (he frightened her), then called my cell phone multiple times (I was still driving and unable to pick up). We will not be going here again. There was no excuse for that aggressive behavior especially when we have always been generous tippers. read more

Tasty, well-prepared food in style of Japanese food and that of other countries. I enjoyed the sashimi lunch...It came with fresh veggies, very fresh fish, and tasty miso soup. The place is very, very casual...I think better for take-out. This is a Rockland diamond in the rough! I've ordered from Spicy Edamame for lunch and dinner countless times and the food has always been top notch. Simply outstanding! The quality of the sushi is fantastic, and the Chinese food selection is very good as well. I am so happy to have a great sushi option right here in downtown Rockland. The highlight for me about this place though is it's fabulous owner, Zhi Chen. She is incredibly friendly and outgoing, and is clearly focused on providing outstanding customer service. After stopping by a few times, she now recognizes me each time I am in, and treats me to a free surprise, whether miso soup, seaweed salad, or iced green tea on my last few visits. We eat here quite often, at least once a week. My favorites are the orange chicken, the beef teriyaki and the crab rangoons. The owners are super nice and the food is always ready within 15-20 minutes. I'm also a very picky eater when it comes to fried rice and they don't put the bean sprouts in it if you ask them not too. They always make my lo mein with just noodles and pork just how I like it. Would definitely recommend. read more

Love this little hole in the wall--our go-to for our sushi cravings! We usually get their Party Boat 2 and a variety of their special makis depending on how many people are eating. Food quality is always on point. Minus one star for misquoted wait times, 50/50 chance your order will actually be ready at the time they quote you. First time ordering and was a bit nervous due to problems with other Chinese places in the area. Despite this, the lady on the phone was polite and professional: as well as easy to understand and quick to make sure whatever we needed/wanted was taken care of. The food arrived very quickly and was obviously very fresh, both bonus points for me. They also packed the boxes to bursting, which is a huge plus. Ordered the crab rangoon and chicken fingers for appetizers, both were delicious. The slightest hint of spice in the rangoons was a delightful surprise and people couldn't get enough of them. The chicken fingers were crispy and not greasy, and well made. For mains we went with lunch box specials, the veggie and shrimp tempura as well as the general gaus with beef lo mein. The tempura was crispy and not greasy, as well as very fresh; and the accompanying white sticky rice was very flavorful and delicious. The general gaus was not as spicy as expected, one of the few flaws at this place; and the lo mein is a bit heavy handed with their vegetables, but that can be forgiven for the tender and well flavored beef. As a bonus we received some free spring rolls, a delicious freebie that was not greasy or too hard. The miso soup was flavorful and delicious, but the salad was lack luster and had semi-rotten cucumbers in it. Overall this is a 10/10 for me and mine, and our new favorite Chinese restaurant. May we'll order the general gaus extra spicy next time... :) read more

Food is always pretty good no complaints there the only issue really is that for the same price I can go to Brockton to get Chinese food that in my opinion is much better. The food is seasoned better and the portions are larger for just about the same prices. The food here is great just know there are better options less than 20 minutes away! read more
