I contacted DS Services/Belmont Springs to cancel my service and got a wonderful rep named Anthony who apologized profusely and talked me into giving them another chance. I agreed and am deeply regretting it. I was promised a new, in the box water cooler and I've been waiting 3 weeks now for it. They delivered the water but not the cooler. They never come when promised, just change the delivery date without contacting me and still don't show up. I've made at least 10 calls to customer service and nothing ever gets done. I'm at the point where I'm ready to drive the half an hour to their warehouse and drop the damn thing off myself. I've since cancelled our service and the cooler and bottles have been sitting on my porch for weeks waiting to be picked up. To add insult to injury, when I signed up they had a special going on and I was supposed to get the first delivery for $10. They ended up charging me more than twice that for the first delivery, then another $50 something after that. Three of the four bottles I initially ordered were exchanged (from purified water to spring water) and after that I was afraid to drink anymore because my entire family was experiencing GI issues. In total, we used 2 bottles. So I basically paid $70+ for 2-5 gallon bottles of water and cooler rental. Infuriating. Worst company ever. UPDATE: Thank you for your response, Debra. I sent an email yesterday and hope to hear from someone soon. I'm really at my wits end. UPDATE: After posting this review, someone did FINALLY come and pick up the water cooler but he was very rude. No apologies, just attitude. Whatever, I was glad to be done with it. I did end up getting a $20-something refund but that doesn't make up for the horrible, unprofessional service and all of the headaches. Never again.

When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.

On July 9 2026, I had a terrible experience with Alvin's Plumbing and Heating LLC. Before scheduling, I called to ask about their diagnostic fees to estimate a under-sink filter leak repair. A representative told me it would cost $60 to send a technician, who would then give me a price estimate. However, when the technicians arrived, they never mentioned a hidden baseline fee of $195 just to touch the plumbing. One technician immediately began working without providing an upfront estimate. He cut one inch of a small 1/4" plastic pipe, which fixed the leak. When I asked for the total, he revealed the $195 charge. I was outraged by this hidden fee. Since he was already there, I asked about replacing a bathroom faucet. I explicitly asked if the $195 would be separate or if it would roll into the cost of the new job. They told me, "No, the $195 is going to roll into the cost of the additional job." The office quoted a total price of $225. I agreed to this. After the work was done, they wanted charge my credit card $420 ($195 + $225), completely going back on their word. I requested the manager's number to dispute this overcharge, but the owner refused to honor the agreed upon price. Despite multiple phone calls, I have not received a refund. This company uses misleading sales tactics, hides fees until the work is done, and takes advantage of old citizens. I am submitting an official complaint with Better Business Bureau

Evan explained all the options from minimum work to maximum work with their pros and cons in detail. He also explained what can wait or not, which is one of the main reasons that I'd recommend his services because he did not steer us for the highest cost of services. On Saturday he fixed the immediate issue and we stated we'd decide which one of the options we'd pursue. Following Monday, issue worsened and we called him again late in the day and he came within hours. He put us in the schedule first thing the following morning, as the well had a leak which caused the old pump to work even harder. We decided to go with the med-to-long term solution of replacing jet pump with submersible. He explained every step of the work, what can be done in the future, what doesn't need to be done because of the relatively good condition of our well. He worked with our electrician to finish everything around the same time. More importantly, he was courteous, knowledgeable, treated us as "people" as opposed to "just customers" addressing every question and concern we had. He also followed up one day after the service to see if everything was ok. We'd recommend especially Evan, and the Thomas Nigro & Son Company any time.

While it was a weekend, anyone living in an area serviced by a well knows, how irritatingly inconvenient it is to be without water for more than 15 minutes. I had a similar experience this summer when we woke to no water and I called the local company I have used in the past. He failed to answer within a few hours, so I googled well service in Glastonbury and made calls to two other local companies. Within 10 minutes, Mr Ripley the owner of Northeast Well called back and said he could come out within an hour. "Believe it or not", he arrived within the promised time and thankfully diagnosed the issue as a simple blown switch which was replaced in record time. While here, he mentioned I should think about having the well cap replaced since it was loose and not secured allowing stuff to enter the pipe. He quoted me what sounded like a reasonable price and since he came so promptly even though we were not a longtime customer, I decided to give him the okay to do the work then if he had time. In no time at all, I had a shiny, secure new blue well cap! Mr Ripley, "Charlie" owns this Glastonbury business and has operated it for 30 years. Being a homeowner here for 25 years, I was surprised to learn this since there seems to be two other companies in town that everyone uses and I had never heard of it. I am happy to recommend this company and I will call Northeast Well Pump first if I ever have a well issue because of the way he handled my summer well issue and his prompt response to my friend this weekend. YES..he came within an hour for a weekend call.
