We went here for dinner and Emma was our great and attentive waitress where we struck a short conversation about how our names are similar in each of our families! The spaghetti dinner I chose came with a side salad and 1000 Island dressing was the thickest I've ever seen in a long time! The portion was so large I went home with half of it. Should I be concerned that we keep getting bothered by a fly on our table? My wife ordered the taco salad and accidentally ordered extra lettuce and boy did they add lettuce! Lol. The one thing I noticed was it was missing music in the background, a jukebox or something playing would've been better! We realized we were running late for an appointment and had to run out of there otherwise we would've enjoyed the restaurant more! To no fault of their own. I look forward to seeing us there again! Trying a burger or something else!

Upon arriving it so nice to see that all their entrances were wheel chair friendly for my mother. The hostess could have been a bit more helpful with how they work the seating, as in do we wait to be seated or seat ourselves? This being our first time here I wasn't sure. She acted as if i should know all of this and I was putting her out to ask. I'm glad to say that the waitress made up for the initial greeting. The waitress was so friendly and informative about the menus. She was quick to grab our drinks and the food came out so fast! We had the all you can eat fish and it was delicious! I had the breaded fish, it was wonderful not over breaded or greasy, large pieces! My mother had the baked fish and she said it was wonderful as well. Big portions and the atmosphere is very log cabin/ small town bar feel. It was so quaint, and so clean! With a large outdoor eating area. All in all I would definitely recommend the Cullom Knoll if you're looking for an amazing fish fry!

I hate to rate this way, since the food is usually good, but the last few times I've been here, service has been really slow and either the waitress never came back to check and when she did I'd already started to eat my pizza so saying the crust was really over done got a that's how they make it, reply, it took a long time to reach the table so I ordered another beer. I do not drink beer quickly either. and the second beer was ordered a minute or 5 after happy hour. I would have ordered the second sooner had she asked. Then I know mistakes are made, but ordered wings no breading, and they were made with, so they were remade but it took 45 plus minutes from the time I ordered to get them. So two demerits. I will probably order to go from now on. Just sayin, two in a row. Everyone there working is nice but I don't need to stick around forever. Oh and points. I always forget to tell them and they never ask. ???

We went on a Friday for fish fry. My complaint is that they did not have. The cheddar garlic biscuits. I so wanted to try that. Bummer. The staff was great. We were sat in a good location. I like other reviews I did not see a table by the bathroom lol. They do have two sides of dining area. We all ended up chop the same meal. With the exception I got the half half dinner. Ok the potatoes cakes. I did not like them at all. My friends all thought they were good. The fish was very good but still not as great as my favorite place. The server did let me get fries after I tried the potato cakes and was not happy. So my refill was fries. The baked fish was good I do enjoy some with no breading. Fried fish had a good texture and taste. The tartar sauce good with a nice flavor. Did not like the slaw at all it had an off flavor to me. Would definitely go back want to try the pizza next

Taste was good but don't call it a colossal blt when there is barely bacon on it. We also had boneless wings and normally they are good but a lil over done tonight.

Went for friday fish fry! Boy is this a popular spot! I didn't realize this place was so big! All you can eat fish fry (or baked) was good! Service spectacular! I would recommend!

Date of visit: December 13, 2025…read more I love a good Mexican place, and as much as I enjoy Carlos's, it is good to have other options for when I go to visit my friend in the McHenry/Spring Grove area. The restaurant is very large with a variety of seating options including some interesting swings. I say interesting because it's really more of a novelty than anything; honestly, do you really want to have a seat that moves while you're eating chips with salsa? The menu is interesting, with a heavy focus on birria (think brisket, if you're unfamiliar) including in a dipped/fried taco as well as a grilled cheese sandwich, which is what I went with. While the meat in the sandwich was good, there was very little cheese to speak of, and that should be an important component of a grilled...cheese. However the chips and salsa were excellent, with some of the best chips I've had in quite some time, they really taste like more. In terms of the salsa, they are not lying with the "Diablo" in their name. If you are not a fan of spicy, stay away from the salsas as even the mild is fairly potent after a few chips. Also note that sour cream is available but doesn't tend to come WITH things by default, so be prepared to ask for that if it's a key part of your Mexican meals. Also disappointing, the tacos come with raw onions on top. This isn't mentioned on the menu, and was a very unwelcome addition to the dish. Service was a bit of a mixed bag; Jasmine was nice and attentive but struggled on some aspects, including telling us what the three salsas were when she brought them to the table, and saying that birria was a "biscuit," which thoroughly confused us. She asked if we wanted more chips and we declined, but then she brought more anyways.

The service from Barbara could not have been more personable and attentive. We truly enjoyed her! She mixed a wicked Brandy old fashioned and was quick, but not too quick with her service. The food was all excellent from the relish trays, to the beer cheese pretzel ball and mozzarella sticks. Our dinners ranged from prime ribs...fantastic by the wAy, to meatloaf, butt steak, a burger and ribeye. All were cooked wonderfully. Excellent flavor, fresh salads and nicely prepared potatoes. They prepared a homemade birthday cake. Our entire experience tonight could not have been better in any way. Although it has been 20 years since we were last with you, it will be soon that we return.
