Being a little unsure I decided to play it safe and order one of the specialty summer drinks, "Almond orgeat, orange blossom Matcha" (with oat milk). Oh my Goodness!!! Truly the best Matcha l've ever had! If you're not familiar with almond orgeat, it is a lovely French syrup made from almonds and sugar and if it's a proper orgeat made with orange blossom water. This drink was like summer on Nantucket! The matcha was properly whisked (as a true matcha should be). Combine the matcha with the flavors of the orange blossom and the almond orgeat made for the most absolutely delightful matcha I've ever had. Now, let's talk about this quaint little roasters coffee beans! Recently moving to Arizona, it's been a bit of a task trying to find a good roaster that I can support locally. I love a well roasted Papúa New Guinea and Ethiopia, but my absolute favorite is the Mexico, Oaxaca. Which is very difficult to find. A smooth, medium bodied coffee typically with notes of milk or dark chocolate and sweet citrus or bright fruits. Unbelievably, Beal Beans Roasting Co., roasts Mexico, Oaxaca beans! I enjoyed my first cup of freshly ground beans at home this morning and they did not disappoint. The coffee was smooth with wonderful milk chocolate and bright fruit notes. Finally! Beal Beans Roasting Co., is a wonderful quaint coffee shop & roaster that is worth supporting. Blake, (owner) is incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable, and a side note and wonderful plus; all containers, straws etc are completely compostable! Now I know that coconut milk with Irish cream and hazelnut sounds like it won't mix well, but I wanted what I wanted lollll. Will I go back? Obvi. They also seem like they have a lot of regulars. Well, now I know why. It's super good. They have a few non dairy milk options: coconut, almond and oat. Otherwise it's nonfat, whole milk, half and half or chocolate. They also offer flavored milks for the kiddos and tea as well. I can't wait to go back and try other options. Interior vibes are what I feel like more coffee shops should be like - strong community feel, books, music, artwork...it feels like something will trigger inside and you'll find inspiration there. The place had a steady flow of people. Some people were clearly soaking in vibes, chatting, reading, and playing games at the tables. It looks like they make their pastries and food on site. The toasty flavor of the brown butter paired well with the almond milk and it wasn't too sweet with the brown sugar. If you like it sweeter they do have a condiment bar. Ample parking as it shares a parking lot with multiple businesses. FYI: the parking lot exit on the side with the light and the smaller side street is more "low car friendly". WeBe Coffee Roasters is one of those finds that makes you wish you had discovered it sooner. Even more so, I wish I lived closer. The space alone is worth the trip. The team put real thought into every aspect of the experience. The counter has a beautiful waved ribbed wood design, the colors are immersive without being overwhelming, and the whole interior has a visual balance that most designers would be proud of. There are flowers around the cafe that give it a gentle, unexpected touch. I genuinely regretted not bringing a better camera. But the coffee is the real story. They source specialty beans from different parts of the world and roast in-house on a Primo roaster, which is a hand-built machine that serious roasters invest in. I had a double espresso, something I cannot live without, and it held up to the room. The seating is comfortable and well thought out. There is room for conversation and room to get work done. I ended up staying longer than I planned, which is always the sign of a good spot. They also have a merch area with coffee gear worth browsing, and bags of their roasted coffee available to take home. On the back wall there is a mural that reads, "Making good coffee, good fun." That line does a better job describing this place than anything I could write. This one feels like it belongs in Scottsdale. North Phoenix is lucky to have it.
