    Oaxacan enchiladas

What a great new add to the area. Went with our team for dinner before Kings game. Location is great and food was very tasty. I had the Oaxacan enchiladas which obviously had mole but also a twist by adding tinga chicken inside for added smoke flavor and spice. Drinks were handcrafted and great as well.

Everything was amazing about this place. It was a slow night so the staff had samples of signature cocktails which were great. Our waitress recommended the aquachiles which were the best I've ever had. We shared the fig salad as well which was light and refreshing, not too acid/vinegarry which was nice. Chicken mole enchiladas were amazing. The saltado looked fantastic and even the rice with it was really nice. Very cool and trendy with an excellent patio area. Definitely put this place at the top of the list for downtown hot spots!

The restaurant is spacious and has a big bar to enjoy drinks at. It was rather quiet when we went in which is odd considering it was a Saturday night. Our waitress was friendly and helped us navigate the menu and make our selections. We went with the ceviche, aguachiles and Peruvian pesto. We started with a bang when we got the aguachiles first. Absolutely divine! Good portion and the avocado sauce was the perfect balance of spice and citrus. I absolutely loved it. The ceviche was decent. I personally prefer the fish to be cut up smaller as the big chunks didn't feel like they were 100% cooked through with the lime. As for the pesto unfortunately this was a fumble. The chicken cutlet was thin and crispy however the breading slide right off anytime I cut a piece off. As for the actual pasta and pesto I felt the sauce severely lack flavor. The creaminess was nice but for being a pesto the herbiness was definitely missing. Overall it was a decent meal.

I've been planning to visit Culturas since it opened, however, I was underwhelmed by my experience. I arrived on a Sunday, just after 5p, and there were about 4 people in the restaurant. I was greeted right away by the hostess/server who was very friendly and welcoming. She showed me to the table and made suggestions for food and drinks. I ordered 3 items: Whiskey Sour Cocktail, Brussels Sprouts appetizer, and the Lomo Saltado entrée. The seating was comfortable and with the doors open, the resturant had a nice breeze. I enjoyed the cocktail, but it took way too long and arrived after I received my entrée (the server apologized). The brussels sprouts appetizer also took way too long and arrived after my entrée and cocktail (a couple that was seated several minutes after I ordered, received their brussels sprouts first). I liked the savory brussels sprouts and would recommend ordering for happy hour. The Lomo Saltado was recommended by the server. The dish is simple; the meat was seasoned well but overcooked and tough. Although mentioned on the menu, I was disappointed to see the 3% Kitchen Fee listed on the bill. I thought restaurants had stopped charging frivolous fees. My experience didn't live up to my expectations or the total amount spent. With all the interesting dining options in DTLA, I'm not in a rush to return to Culturas.

The food and drinks were superb! I had the Oaxaca enchiladas and Peruvian pesto (not picture). My favorite dish would be the enchiladas. It is very rare to make a good molè and they succeeded. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Great new place in a great location; on Hope St. right across from Prank bar. We went for a Social District community breakfast event & Their breakfast dishes are awesome. Ambiance is great! They have indoor & outdoor seating. The service was also good

5-star Latin cuisine spot in DTLA -- Culturas! The flavors were bold, the vibe was on point, and every bite was an explosion of taste like nothing I've had before! If you're in LA, this is a MUST-try! Highly recommend! Let's support greatness! #CulturasDTLA #LatinFlavors #FoodieAlert Authentic. Bold. Unforgettable.

If you're looking for something a bit different come here. I was intrigued by the Peruvian menu. Some of my favorites: ceviche Seabass, tiradito de salmon and ribeye. I don't recommend the lomo saltado, the meat was very tough and ended up sending back. Guacamole was salty and Peruvian pesto was more Italian than Peruvian in my opinion. They only have paper napkins not fabric ones. Overall I liked the presentation and flavors.

Was actually walking to Starbucks and decided to stop in. The staff is unbelievably kind and accommodating. My waiter Bryan was the best! Food comes out quick and hot; full of flavor and the drink was probably one of the best Ive had in my 4 years living in LA. Everything is clean and they're super dog friendly (brought my dog water without even asking). The only feedback I have is the price. I was slightly disappointed the meal was $60. I didn't feel it was worth the price. The chicken was paper thin so majority was just fried batter. Overall it was okay and I'd go back.

I've been waiting for this corner spot to have a solid restaurant and this spot is phenomenal for food. I had their truffle fries, esquire, carne asada plate and fried calamari. The fries were excellent, extra crispy, just wish it was more of it. The esquite was the best I've had along with the fried calamari, they were both phenomenal. Their romaine salad was also really delicious and one of my favorite dishes. I recently had their steak cauliflower appetizer, it was phenomenal and probably the greatest cauliflower dish I've ever had. The garlic sauce was on point. I also had their salmon Chipotle and I thought it was good, the Chipotle flavor was good but I wish it had more sweetness. Overall it was a descent option. The carne asada was also very delicious, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Overall it was an awesome dining experience with great customer service, Thanks to Joshua. I'd definitely come back again to try their other menu items in the future. Location is solid and I expect this spot to get busier as it gets out there as a solid Latin food a lot. Hopefully some events for the local neighborhood would be nice.

5 Stars! A Hidden Gem for Latin Cuisine Lovers! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the trendy, hip vibe of this place it's stylish without feeling pretentious. We started with the guacamole, which was fresh, creamy, and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I had the Carne Asada plate perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas, and he couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were. The restaurant features a full service bar, and the bartender is truly on point. We had an Old-Fashioned, and it was one of the best we've had balanced, smooth, and they provided the right types of cherry in the old-fashioned for all the old-fashioned drinkers and crafted with real skill. What really stood out was the attention to detail. The food is clearly made by a chef who knows exactly what he's doing everything was phenomenal. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless, which is always a great sign of a well run establishment. To top it off, the owner a very kind and personable young man came over to check on our experience, which made us feel genuinely welcomed. This place is a MUST visit. We'll definitely be back, and we're already telling our friends to check it out! Thanks team culturas you are awesome

If you are ever in downtown, you have to stop by and check out culturas. They have the best craft cocktails & if you don't see what you like Juan can make you anything your mind could imagine. The food is amazing a Peruvian fusion that will blow you away with flavors. This place is perfect for date night, business meetings, or just catching up with friends the vibe is nice & they also have live entertainment. All the servers are so welcoming, kind & knowledgeable. Thank you for giving me and my friends a night to remember. 1111

Updating my review- last time I gave 4 stars, but after going back while they were serving their full menu on a Friday night, I definitely feel as though we had a 5 star experience. Same as last time, the food is ASTOUNDING. Truly some of the most creative pairings, beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. The service this time around was much better too- Alejandro was our server and he was great. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday night at 7pm. When we arrived, there was only one other table seated but it started to fill up later on for a live music performance. We ordered 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, and 2 entrees and the bill was $130. MUCH more affordable than their holiday set menu. Absolutely will be going back here and recommending friends to check it out as well.

(EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.

The tone and gesture felt dismissive and mocking rather than professional. Instead of addressing a reasonable concern with transparency, the response came across as defensive and condescending. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, bringing the total to $71.12 for two inconsistent Old Fashioneds. Under advice from Caña member Elite Yelper, Isobel L., who graciously took us under her wing, we ordered a shot of Nicaraguan Flor de Caña Rum aged 12 years that came with a cigarillo. We adjourned from the bar to the patio to smoke our mini-stogies and sipped our rum. We came early when there were very few members so it was the perfect place to talk and mellow out. Those who want a more animated crowd probably should come much later when lively dance music begins, and booties start to swing. Caña Rum Bar: 4 stars
