Me and some friends went for DineLA week where the dinner menu was $55/person. Half of us got the Picanha and the other half got the mango chicken. The picanha was average at best. It was kind of chewy and dry and under seasoned for beef. The mango chicken was dry. The side of mashed potatoes, mid at best too. Tasted like a mix between instant and actual potatoes. For $55, go to H&H or Fogo. Not only are they AYCE, but they taste better too. Lastly, they add a 4% CA benefit charge to every check. I hate it when restaurants do that. JUST RAISE YOUR PRICES BY 4%. The service was friendly. But it took them a long time to bring the cocktail we ordered. By the time they brought it over we were pretty much done. We found this new-ish place on the way back from another restaurant back in February. We liked their cocktails and said we should come back another time for the food. Dine LA rolled around, and we went on a Wednesday night. For Dine LA, they offered a set menu (house wine, entree, side, dessert). But then we opted to go a la carte and order our appetizers and drinks. The drinks were delicious as always. The meat entrees were soft and mild flavored. The ambiance was another highlight. The inside was well decorated. A DJ started playing tracks around 7 PM. A fire dancer went around dancing and performing tricks around 7:45 PM. I'm not sure if this is typical for weeknights or if it was because of Dine LA. We'll be back for golden hour (3-6 PM) or perhaps lunch. read more

Been meaning to check this place out now that I work across the street. Took a friend to work for lunch for her bday. The interior is very Tommy Bahama, in my opinion. It's a big space. We got there at 11:30 and were the only ones there but more people came as time went by. The staff was very attentive. We got our pick of dining area. We were given small cheese bread rolls that reminded me of the flavor of Cheez-its which I like. We both took advantage of the lunch menu ($25 for two items - you chose from about a dozen dishes). I got the salmon tostada and the shrimp taco. My friend got the tuna tostada and shrimp taco. I enjoyed the tostada and while the shrimp taco was good, it could have used more flavor. We were given some green salsa when they brought out dishes. A flan/chocolate cake was provided as a complimentary bday dessert. Came here for dinner with friends on a Wednesday night. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant. It's very spacious and nicely decorated. There was a DJ and a live Brazilian performer. Music was loud, so it's best to come on a Friday or Saturday night when you're in the mood to kickstart a night out. There are TVs at the bar, and people were there watching the World Cup. I enjoyed most of what I tried. My favorites were the shrimp à la casserole, picanha steak with chimichurri sauce, and branzino. Didn't really care for the tostada or Brussels sprouts. Their Brussels sprouts are pretty much only crispy leaves, instead of the traditional hearty sprouts. The passion fruit cheesecake was very good! Drinks were wel-made. I recommend the passion fruit caipirinha. Service was excellent. I highly recommend John Paul. Street parking is available very close to the restaurant but fills up fast. There is valet at the Biltmore Hotel (connected to the restaurant) for $50 or self parking in the garage for $15 after validation. Restrooms are an area for improvement and did not match the nice atmosphere of the dining space. Overall, this was an elevated restaurant with a fun atmosphere and an eclectic menu. Came here to check out one of the participating restaurants during dineLA week, which was also my first time visiting here. The restaurant itself was super clean and beautiful inside. We thought there would be a dj and fire show but found out that they only offered those on Friday and Saturdays. We were one of 3 tables filled in the restaurant so the service was pretty fast. The cheese bread was pretty dry but we ended up asking for garlic butter on the side which redeemed them. We ordered the steak and fish for our entries with mashed potatoes and rice on the side. The steak was cooked and seasoned well and it came with chimichurri on the side. My broccoli was cold and unseasoned. The fish was bland and the sauce it came with didn't help at all. The rest of the sides/app were great too. My least favorite had to be the tuna tower from what we ordered. Service was great by our server. Beautiful dim restaurant with cool decor. Biggest downside for me was the show. I went for the show specifically but it lasted about 3 minutes! Very very disappointing so if you're going for the fire shows, it's definitely not what they advertise it to be. They were really patient with us because we did take a while to decide on what to order since we were all lost in conversation catching up with each other. The appetizers were delicious and were large enough to share between all of us. I hugely recommend the truffle dishes. The fondue was absolutely delicious! We ordered the fish and tomahawk steaks and everything was so good. Be service was attentive and our server Igor was really good about anticipating our needs. The dinner also came with a fire dancing performance which was tell cool. The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and romantic with the mood lighting. Great lunch place for work days. I come here for the picanha steak and the bottomless mimosas, which is 25 with the purchase of any entree. The Brazilian bread is delicious and the hostess and server are friendly and follow up often. I've also gotten the Moca Colada, which is a mocktail. It's really good but a bit too sweet for me to finish the entire drink. The picanha steak is great, although I have heard people being surprised at the layer of fat, even when previously cautioned about it. I personally dont mind it but I know some do. I think this restaurant is more about the ambiance and drinks than the food. The space is cute and fun, and the fire dancer added a cool entertainment element. The drinks were great, and the bartender was fast. We had a party of about 20 people and opted for the set menu. The first dish that came out--the salmon tostada--had very little salmon. On top of that, they brought out one plate with four pieces and expected six people to share it. When we asked about it, the waiter said it would be taken care of, but the second plate that came out was still short. After speaking to (I believe) a manager, they finally brought out more food. I didn't want them to overcompensate or waste food, just to provide reasonable portion sizes for the number of people at each table. After that, though, there was actually too much food, which I'm not complaining about. As for the rest of the meal: the steak and chicken tacos were dry, the steak especially. The corn was good but tasted slightly off. The fish with the green sauce wasn't great either, and the soup thing was just okay. Honestly, the food overall wasn't very good. The best items were the cheese balls and the salmon tostada. Service was good, and the vibe was lively and loud--probably great for a fun date night or group celebration. I decided to give this place another try when it was less crowded since my first visit was very busy. I ordered the truffle fries again, picanha steak, mashed potatoes, rio margarita, Posto Oito cocktail, and S'mores Cookie The complimentary bread is VERY good, they are so addicting, be careful not to fill yourself up with those! The Truffle fries were once again a solid choice, great flavor, good shareable size, and came out hot, I would again recommend to order this. The Picanha steak was very juicy and tender, keep in mind this cut is not a melt in your mouth steak, it is a bit more gamey; however, it was cooked exactly medium rare as I requested which is very hard to do and most places struggle with that. The Chimichurri sauce with the steak was delicious, and asked for more. The mashed potatoes was a good shareable size, it had a nice simple buttery flavor to it and a fluffy consistency. Both Cocktails I ordered were very very good, well worth the price. I feel the drinks are a reasonable price and compare to what most places around charge for a drink. The drinks have a nice presentation, and even better flavor, I would recommend any drink on the menu. The S'mores cookies was AMAZING, it was hot, and had that melt in your mouth, I would highly recommend to order this! We had a great time! We dined here on fathers day lunch. Service was very good, friendly and very attentive. It's very beautiful and elegant inside. Parking is little far from the restaurant, they did validate to $15 for lunch time. but there also was other street options closer. We got picanha, truffle Parmesan fries. Queso dish, avocado crispy rice and breakfast picanha and eggs. The steak was very tender and juicy. Everything else tasted very good as well. Loved the cheese bread they serve on the house. They do have a dress code, so read the fine print before you go. We were seated right away, but could not sit in the main part of the restaurant due to a function they were preparing for that night. Our service was a bit underwhelming compared to the reviews I read prior to coming here. Even though the main event had not started yet, everyone was preoccupied with the people who weren't there (preparing drinks, place settings, ...)). instead of focusing on the people who were already there. We also had a new waiter who was timid and needed to be prompted to reside his voice so that he was audible. Our food was just okay. We ordered the main dish (picanha)) and the pork chops. The steak was flavored well, but chewy. It had fat, which I like, but it was so hard it was inedible. As for the pork chop, it was on the drier side. Mmm...Well our server was very nice and attentive. Although we had to send the first two batches of fries out for being cold our waitress promptly took them away and brought us out a fresh batch. The ambience is nice and the inside is decorated nicely...sadly they completely missed the ball on the bathrooms as they were littered with tissue and napkins and didn't have any seat covers...We also didn't see any of the dancers on our visit but my biggest issue was the sugary drinksssss. The enchiladas were amazingly done with a beautiful sauce and shrimp filling that'll have your mouth watering for more. The shrimp casserole was excellently saucy and savory with juicy and plump shrimps, clearly cooked with care and joy. The Picanha and eggs were so flavorful with asauce so good, I t'll make you say, "this is SO good!" We ended our brunch with the white melt brûlée and it did not disappoint! Parking is located on 5th and Grand at the Biltmore Hotel- $35 for valet (validation included) $15 for self park (w/ validation). There is hotel entrance to the restaurant in the lobby (left hand side) downstairs; you will see the door easel. It gives Tulum vibes but not trying hard either. This is Brazilian inspired - same owners as H & H Brazilian Steak House. It is a great open space perfect big parties or small. The ambience is loud but not too loud where you're not able to enjoy a conversation which I could appreciate. The fire dancers were a great touch to the dining experience. We ordered capirinhias- traditional for me and my sister ordered the passion fruit version. We then had truffle fries and Brussels sprouts both tasty. For our main my sister and I shared the three cheese filet mignon with broccolini and a side of mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the meat cooked to a perfect MR. For dessert we had the cookie with marshmallow and I believe caramel drizzle? I highly recommend dining here, I'm shocked it's not packed granted they just opened up in March I believe. Me and my best friend came here to celebrate her birthday. We ordered the enchiladas, mango chicken, street corn, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Biggest issue about the food, it came out cold. The mashed potatoes were the warmest but only once you got to the middle. We were warned about the enchilada plate being hot, but the food itself was cold. We spoke to management regarding it, and they offered to warm everything up but we declined as we did not just want the food to be throw in a microwave. After declining to rewarm, they offered to remake everything, but we declined as we had already eaten half of the food cold and knew we would not finish the new food they would make. So They decided to bring out 2 of their tacos for us to try at free of charge but the shrimp tacos we received looked very undercooked as one side of the shrimp were pink but the other was still grey. Safe to say we did not eat them. Overall, the place was cute, fire dancer was the best part of the evening. Staff were friendly and so was management and we appreciated their efforts to try to make things right, but the food was a definite let down.
