I love frozen yogurt, but I think I picked the wrong flavor. Was too full but was forced into this place. But ended up getting a Kids ($3.21)sized Pistachio with mochi. It's a bit of a walk for me but I really do enjoy their frozen yogurt so I make the trek. The place is always kept really clean and they have seats near open windows which is nice. They offer tasty and creamy fro-yo with lots of fresh fruit toppings. There is also a nice park across the street when you can enjoy your tasty treat. Probably some of the best frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. I've had the Vermont Maple (amazing, but really sweet) so I really prefer picking out my own toppings. I really loved the yogurt I got at culture. I love their concept of a yogurt bar, as it is healthier than ice cream for a late night treat ! I got the regular yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, and almonds as toppings. I was most impressed at how the plain yogurt didn't taste too bitter and how fresh the fruit was ! My boyfriend got the frozen vanilla almond yogurt with coconut macaroons as toppings and I also enjoyed it ! I would love to try more flavors of the frozen yogurt and can't wait to come back ! Saweeet! Cool spot for a froyo with a selection of about 3-5 flavors in froyo and regular yogurt. I tried the mint froyo sundae which included either honey or raspberry syrup; I chose berry. And a couple of toppings of which I selected blueberries and granola and it was superb. Fresh and #refreshing. On the other hand my kids didn't want anything from here as they like a sweeter variety that's often carried by bigger chains. I have to say though that I'm a bit surprised that the standard vanilla flavor was no where to be found on the menu. I've tried the Pina Colada and it's very good but just not my taste. The staff are very friendly and patient when it comes to customers being indecisive with what they plan on getting. I've lived just around the corner from Culture since October, and go to the dog run across the street practically every day, and on dog walks past the shop multiple times a day, yet tonight was the first time I actually tried their froyo. One of the employees was washing a mat outside, and I asked if it would be possible for me to bring the puppy into the shop. He said no, but I could tell him what I want, and he'd bring it out for me!!!! I had a small original and strawberry rhubarb with mini chocolate chips, and it was divine. The texture of the froyo here is perfect. They even put toppings at the bottom, so you don't run out! In the fall, I'd see all the kids from the middle school across the street coming here for their after school treat, and now I finally get it. What a dangerous find! There are four or five flavors at most with other flavors available in to-go pints in a freezer, and the toppings were pretty limited to granolas, nuts, and fruits. We came in on a day when mango was available, it's one of my faves. When I asked what toppings the server would suggest with mango, they said "I don't really like the mango", and that was that. So I went with the kids size and coconut flakes. My husband ordered a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake, which is made with the (tart) original flavor. By mid-shake, you could definitely taste more tartness than peanut butter chocolatey-ness. I love yogurt so much I find myself eating it at least once daily. I love it plain and full of fat! Being that it's now summer, I find myself craving those same flavors in frozen form. I thought I could get that fix from Victory Garden the other week, but I was disappointed with the sample I tried - it lacked the flavor and tang that a real yogurt has. Bestie and I made our way to Culture, hoping to find what we were looking for and indeed we did! This yogurt (either non-frozen or frozen) is the real deal. It's loaded with those sexy little probiotic organisms that make me so smitten. I had a small frozen yogurt - half original, half cocoa pebbles with cheesecake topping. It was everything I wanted! Toppings range from the typical stuff (50 cents each after the first choice) to more gourmet options ($1 ea) like key lime pie or cobbler topping. There are four flavors that rotate daily and your bound to frequently see a flavor you've never seen before (in a good way). I had the Nutella which was delicious. My cup of yogurt was too soft though, almost soupy. Judging by the photos on Yelp I probably just got them at a bad time. The prices are a little steep for the amount you're getting (a smallish medium cup was almost $6) and they don't take cards or have an ATM on premises. I'm still a huge fan of 16 Handles but enjoy the more mom and pop shop aspect of this place as well as their more creative toppings. It's also worth noting that they're located across the street from Washington Park, a great place to enjoy a fro-yo on a hot summer day. read more

I really love this place. The frozen and unfrozen yogurt is the tastiest I've ever had. The plain is that perfect balance of tart and naturally sweet and creamy. If you're feeling indulgent, get the whole milk variety. It'll change your life. (Maybe a slight exaggeration.) All the toppings I've tried have been delicious. I like the "specialty" topping combos--especially the maple and the pineapple. They've clearly done some research on delicious combinations and give you a few options so you don't have to think. Toppings portions are very generous. If you're going here with your baby, order a bigger size. Your kid will eat all of your yogurt, and you'll be left scraping the paper container. :( read more

Dang it, I'm a man, I eat my steak raw, my bacon crispy, and I haven't had a vegetable since my mom force fed me broccoli as a two year old. The first few times I passed Culture I avoided it, because who eats plain yogurt? Me. I do, now, because it's delicious. Caveat: they have a rotation of flavors, and as someone whose dessert preferences consist of more chocolate than the average Willy Wonka, I would come in and not see anything on the menu I liked some times. But other times, they'd nail it: nutella frozen yogurt was awesome, and so was their other chocolate option. Add on your one free topping of oreos and that usually made it chocolatey enough for me. A Park Slope summer cool down... There are a couple of great places in the Slope to cool down and while beating the summer heat. Culture is definitely one of them. I came in here on a Sunday afternoon. You can see outside on the chalkboard what the flavor of the day is. That's what drew me in. Strawberry Mango. Once I got in I noticed the many different flavors and special blends they have. That's when it happened... My brain stopped and didn't know what to look at. It all looked so good... I was thinking of the flavor of the day, but that's when I saw it. "VERMONT MAPLE" This special concoction consisted of Pecans that were in Maple Syrup. A generous helping is poured onto the bottom on the cup then filled with the yogurt of your choice (Plain is definitely the option to get). You also get to choose a fresh fruit of your choice. The choices are strawberries, blueberries and bananas. I went with the fresh strawberries. The blend of the pecans and berries with the cold yogurt was amazing. The Syrup made the whole thing pop. This definitely made the day. I was really satisfied with the service and the variety of toppings. The line of people should let you know that it's good. I was reading a couple of reviews and they all seem to say the same thing. One of them was just plain nonsense. If you don't like yogurt as your review seems to say. Despite other rash reviews that I write after just one experience with a place, I decided to give Culture a couple of tries before reviewing. I'm going to guess that 5 trips in 3 days are probably evidence enough.... LOVE the changing flavors (I came in the morning and by the afternoon, there were new choices - hence multiple trips in one day...). This is the real deal. Quality house-made yogurt without any frills. Toppings under the yogurt and on top (it makes a difference), cheaper than my bubble tea addiction, AND there is a frequent buyer card.
