I am a big fan of Culver's but they need to invest in this one. When I walked in there were people standing around behind the counter. I thought this was good. This means I will get my food fast. I ordered the cod dinner and a custard. I asked to get the custard after my meal. While I waited, I filled my drink and got ketchup for my fries. One of the ketchup dispensers was broken and the sleeve that holds the little cups was so worn out you could not get the cup out with your hand. I went to find a table and noticed the carpet was filthy. This didn't make sense with the people standing around behind the counter. My food came and the fish was a darker brown than it should have been. Classic example of oil not being changed often enough. And the custard was already on the tray. It will be melted before I can eat it. I remember when this one opened. It was top rate service and food. The owner needs to invest in maintenance and training staff. I wanted to love it, because who doesn't love a nice custard. But I'm not exactly sure we can call this custard.. or at least never in my years of eating custard have I had this experience. I ordered a plain vanilla custard pint. It's very sweet but it's expected. That's not where my issue lies. The texture is grainey and as you eat more of it, it starts sticking like a thick layer of butter on your mouth and you can literally pick the piece of butter out of your mouth. I have been a fan of Culver's Butter-burger for some time. I decided to invite my coworkers to order lunch today. All they had to do is write down their order and give me their money. The Culver's at Tanger Outlet is close to work, so it's very convenient. It ended up I had 6 orders, including my own. Being lunchtime the parking lot was packed. I went in and was surprised to find the restaurant full, but Joy was at the counter and greeted me as I walked in. I mentioned having multiple orders, all paying separately and she didn't flinch. She patiently went through each order, adding each name and verifying the orders. They were out of drink carriers and having six cups to transport might have been an issue. Not for Joy. She went to the back, found a box and then helped me make the drinks - and even labeled them with each name with a sticker to keep the lids in place. She placed the box inside a bag with handles and I was able to put it in my car and then come back for the orders. Each order had the receipt with the name on individual bags. She remembered ketchup and special sauce for those that wanted it and reminded me to get straws. Every Culver's I've been in is always clean and brightly lit and this one was also. I didn't take a picture of the whole order, the vultures, errrr, I mean coworkers dug in as soon as I got back to the office. Six carry out orders with drinks and not one mistake. Went to this location last night after wanting something sweet after dinner. We get to the speaker in the drive thru and the girl on the mic is getting impatient with us when we ask for a simple scoop in a waffle cone with sprinkles. We apologize that we realize we can't do that and said just a scoop in a cup is fine no problem. We get to the pay window and the window is closed and she's holding her finger up like "one minute!" When we weren't even rushing or even saying anything. She was rude in the interaction of payment exchange. We then were asked to move to one of the parking spots to wait for our order. One scoop of custard in a cup and a small concrete mixer. We wait about 10 minutes and our order is brought to us, melted. The concrete mixer was practically milk with a consistency of a milkshake and the scoop in the cup was melted down too. 1. Rude young black girl at the window. 2. Stopped by to get ice cream after dinner, and was very disappointed! They were not busy, but I had to go back up to the counter after over 10 minutes to find out where our order was! Then someone stepped up to find out what we ordered and immediately filled it. The ice cream is always amazing, and at our usual Culver's on Granada Blvd in Ormond Beach the service is excellent, but we won't be using the one at the outlet mall ever again even if we are in the area. So once upon a time, in Illinois, my husband and I were pseudo-regulars. I was working until 9pm and Culvers was one of the few places open. My husband passed away and since I considered it , "our place" I was going to take a hard pass. Fast forward to Saturday when I was starving and needed food NOW, I got Culvers. Culver's is a casual burger restaurant chain that operates primarily in the Midwest. The first restaurant opened in 1984 in Wisconsin. The franchises stayed local in the 90's but now they are on a more aggressive schedule of opening more restaurants as they advance across the country. In 2019 the Restaurant Business Association ranked Culver's as the number one burger chain in America. The menu includes frozen custard, burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries (not great IMHO), onion rings, pretzel bites, and their signature cheese curds. My favorite menu item is the turtle sundae. This Culver's is located on the outskirts of the Tanger Outlet in Daytona Beach. They are across the street from Buc-ee's which has everything but burgers. To their credit they were the only thing still open on this side of the street after 10 PM with the exception of the Miller Ale House and Twin Peaks. Came in 10 minutes before closing and they weren't salty about it. As far as fast food goes you can do a lot worse than Culvers. read more

I feel two are too much (for me) so I always opt for the single versus the double. You can make your order a basket ( their name for a combo) and get the crinkle-cut fries and a drink. Omg, what has happened to this iconic Wisconsin place, today was the first time we have been to Culver's. Had coupons for a Buy one get one free Butter Burger and was so excited to go. I couldn't eat mine, it's not a step lower than Steak and Shake. The Burger was so thin, I didn't know you could get one that thin. There was no meat flavor at all, just dark brown over fried very thin meat. The onion rings was even worst, greasy and onion skin not actual onion. I actually threw mine away, couldn't even eat it. Shout out to this location for being consistent in service and food quality. Typically on our way back into Jacksonville, we'll usually gas up at the Sam's off of this exit and stop by to grab a bite to eat. Although this is near an outlet, it's never been too crowded. One thing of note is they don't have an app, this was a surprise to me. I usually prefer mobile orders where it's quick and easy. You can make a profile online and order that way if you choose to do so. As a first timer or a regular, I'd opt for the value meal. In doing so, you're able to customize what burger, toppings and side you'd like. On my recent visit, I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with the crinkle fries. The chicken had just been dropped in the grease along with the fries .. no under the heat lamp type of vibes here. The wait wasn't very long either after ordering my meal. They also serve a flavor of the day for their frozen custards. I didn't purchase one this time but they're filling after you've had your meal. My favorite would be anything Oreo based! This Business is run by insane people. I have been going to the new Culver's in Ormond Beach now since they opened and won't ever go back. I was in there today and was threatened by management without explanation. I went through the drive through to order Ice Cream as I have been for a couple of months now. I ordered pulled up and everything seemed fine. My debit was recently compromised so to pay for things I had to go through this temp ID the bank set up on my phone. When I drove up and rolled down the window and she asked for the payment I had to get out my phone and shut the you tube video that was playing which I was listening to in my car and then click to get the payment app up. By the time I turned to hand her my phone she tells me you are rude don't come her again. Then closes the window and locks it. I am perplexed so I try knocking on the window and this lady runs away. I have no idea what is going on. So I decided to park and walk into the place of business and talk with the manager. This lady walks up with two employees and they push me out of the door and tell me not to enter. I said I want to speak with the manager and she says no, so I repeated that I wanted to with the manager. She says I am the manager I am the owner so I asked for the corporate number and she tells me no you are not allowed to have that. Then some idiot gets in my face and screams at me get the hell out of here and then says do you want to hit me. At that point I told him to get away from me. This other employee walks up and all I wanted to do was explain and he said no so I left. I have never been treated this way at a restaurant drive through in my life. So I called the Culver's management looking it up online to complain. I told them exactly what happened and they asked if they could share this with the owner, I said yes but I don't want her to have my number as I never want anything to do with them or that place again. I had to get this off my chest to someone in authority. I also explained that I was never going there again and was thinking of suing as they assaulted and threatened me twice. So two hours after that I get the police at my door as this women wants to trespass me and claims I pushed her. I touched no one at that place and never got near here. The only time she came close was to tell me she owned the place which I still half don't believe even now. I had to laugh as the cop is telling me never to go back there as that would never happen again. I don't know who that woman is or why this happened but this Culver's is run by people who are insane. What the hell is happening in the world where store owners scream don't come here, you are rude and then run away out of the blue and refuse to even simply talk with you and then go through this. Who doesn't love a great hamburger? Culver's is just another burger joint competing for our love of hamburgers in their category. I definitely think there are many levels to the burger war and it's not fair to judge one against another that's in a different category. So I try and bundle them and then try to stay in the correct lane when reviewing them. Category 1: McDonald - Burger King - Wendy's - Hardee's Category 2: White Castle - Krystal - A&W Category 3: Whataburger - Jack in the Box - Checkers Category 4: Steak 'n Shake - Culver's - In-n-Out - Five Guys Category 5: Your favorite burger of all-time - MaryAnn's (Broad St - Lake Charles, Louisiana it been closed for years so don't try and bookmark it) Certainly I didn't capture all the burger joints in each category but these are the types associated with these categories in my opinion. So let's get back to Culver's - I've only eaten the "deluxe" burgers here I don't really understand the butter burger hype it just doesn't appeal to me. So my norm is the double deluxe all the way and "crinkle" fries (my all-time favor type of fries in the fried potato category if you remove McDonald's) The service here was outstanding starting at the counter - our enthusiastic order taker was well groomed and spoke clearly with the appropriate volume. He repeated the order and thanked us for coming in as he handed me our unique placard to ensure the food runner could easily find us and we could find a comfortable sit while waiting on our food instead of hovering over the counter. The food arrived fresh and hot - my burger was exactly like I ordered it (okay I did peel off a few of the onion petals I wish they would slice them more uniformly and thinner) but it's not a deal breaker. I don't get to go to Culver's too often because there isn't one in my area but everytime I do come across one, it's a good experience. The hamburgers are delicious and made fresh. The day that I came, there was a long line so there were two employees outside taking orders. The strange thing is when they hand you a menu, there are no prices on the menu. Culver's needs put their prices on the menu. Other then that, there was a short wait for my food but as always the food was made fresh, hot, and delicious. They give you what you ask for. General Manager Christian is doing a poor job ensuring the young people working, (himself included) maintain safety protocol. I went in to buy the four pack of specialty ice cream. They had to mix the flavor. No problem, I waited patiently. The person working the ice cream mixture was everything less than professional. She's so busy talking to friends (coworkers), handing them personal ice cream then laughing and talking on the phone maskless over the products. The manager comes over to assist her in the process and demonstrates even worst safety practices. He's putting his hands inside the ice cream cups, gloveless having touch other items, register, money, doorknobs (back n forth from the office) etc. I brought this to the young ladies attention to inform her to request the manager change cups and stop the bad practice and she ignores my request stating "I can't hear you." How about walking around the counter to hear to a customer's concern? Too much to ask I suppose. I informed the Mgr of the concern and they remade the cups of ice cream. He wasn't happy about it but no worries, they will still sell the dirty cups filled with product I'm sure. Finally, it's time to place the tops on the cups so that I can get out of there and of course she gets another personal call. She stopped capping my product to laugh and talk. I informed her of my waiting and the ice cream melting... no concern. She finally hands me the bag with much attitude. No thank you for your patience or simply thank you, I did say you're welcome (hint, hint), to no avail. At this point, I requested to speak with the manager. Christian shows up again with no valid explanation of her performance (or his) other than, sorry. Yes she's sorry and he's a sorry excuse for a general manager. I understand how over tasking the job is and I respect service employees. However, mutual respect is required on behalf of all parties. Train them well, and practice what you teach. It was good stopping by Culvers of Daytona. So thankful they finally opened up, because they were still under construction last time I drove to Daytona. Culver's originated in Wisconsin. They are known for their Butter Burgers, Cheese Curds and their Frozen Custard, made fresh throughout the day. And aside from this, they also have many Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, Shrimp Baskets, Shakes, Malts, and many others that you can choose from. If you are a first timer at any Culvers and wonder what to try, then I invite you to try their what I will famously call as "The Signature Trio".. which is their Butter Burgers, the Frozen Custards and the Cheese Curds. This trio just never disappoints. And by trying all 3, you will get a taste of what Culvers is all about. The fam and I just loves this place and can never get enough of it. They also have Flavor Of The Day, which is posted on their menu board. I tried the Peanut Butter Salted Caramel. It was so good. Lastly, we received friendly and fast service at this location. Awww man. I love, love, love Culver's. I used to indulge in the butterburgers and frozen custard multiple times a week when I lived in Minnesota. So when I was going to Daytona for an event, and saw that a Culver's was there, I just had to try it. I got my usual - single cheddar butterburger snack pak. I usually get the custard flavor of the day but I'm not a coffee lover so the cappuccino crunch didn't appeal to me but the custard always does. I opted for a chocolate concrete with snickers and brownies mixed in. I could taste the butterburger before it hit my lips and I took a huge bite only to feel something pulling...a long strand of hair. Yuck! I went to the counter and asked for the manager. Instead, the owner, Kristen came up and I explained the situation. She asked what she could remake for me. Ummm...nothing. I was surprised by the lack of concern on her end regarding hair in the food from her line. She tried to justify it by saying that it is a natural phenomenon and since they all have hats on, perhaps it came from their clothes. I again showed her the very long strand of hair and she said she was sorry. I requested a refund. I won't be returning here - not because of the hair in my food but because the owner doesn't know the art of good customer service. This was the worst drive through experience we have ever had. It took us over 20 minutes to get through the drive through to get two concrete mixers and a large French fry. Unacceptable. The food was fresh and the person at the window was very nice. They were out of snickers so I had to choose another flavor. The speed was horrendous.
