Best quick hamburger in Flower Mound which is unfortunately very conveniently located on my trip home. They are quick, but slow enough you know they are doing it right. Get the double, it's worth it. It's not that the fries are bad, but the burgers are good, so do what I do. Eat two burgers. I'm not saying this diet was recommended by my doctor or anything. As a New England transplant is hard to find a good old fashioned style fish and chips and I never even thought to check a burger place like Culver's. Well someone suggested it and I was skeptical but decided to try it expecting to get a Long John Silvers experience. I was wrong. I don't know if the fish was ever frozen but it certainly didn't taste like it. It's not the best fish and chips I've ever had but it is pretty good for a Friday night fish craving and it's worlds better than LJS. Someday I'll try a burger and fries cheese curds. So, let's say that I am in charge of franchising at an up-and-coming fast food restaurant chain. It might make sense to try to expand into the D/FW area, where there is a huge market of people that love to eat fast food. But why would I pick Flower Mound (and McKinney and Rockwall) as places in the D/FW metroplex to expand into? Don't get me wrong, Flower Mound seems like a great place to live -- my kids go to a farm there to play and pick pumpkins every year; I guess I'm just bitching that if I want to go to Culver's I have to huff it all the way to Flower Mound. There is this whole genre of "burgers and custard" fast food places that I suppose started with Dairy Queen. Culver's, however, is clearly the best of the bunch. Their butterburgers (which sound disgusting but are some of the best fast food burgers that I have ever had) are excellent. Their fries are the old-school zig-zaggedy cut fries. They have quite a selection on their menu, as well, from the usual burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, etc to stuff like Philly cheesesteaks, Reuben sandwiches, and fish platters (all of which I have had and are decent.) If that isn't enough, their custard is really good. They have vanilla and chocolate every day, but then they also have a "Flavor of the Day" (which usually is just something mixed into vanilla or chocolate, but sometimes is a novel flavor) which is what I usually get (they list the flavor of the day on their website.) My favorite is cherry chocolate chip, but I pretty much like most all of them. I had lived really close to a Culver's in Austin (William Cannon and Brodie) so I could easily go anytime I wanted. But having the closest Culver's in Flower Mound has been tough for me since I moved here. I finally made it up there this past weekend after some shopping in the Grapevine Mills area, and it was totally worth it. read more

I've driven by this location a couple of times since moving to Flower Mound last year, but it's always just been out of mind when it came time to get something to eat. Fortunately, I had a weekend day where I had free reign to choose where I wanted to go and made the trek. I'd had an idea of what Culver's offered as far as food (frozen custard and burgers), but was surprised at finding fried chicken and cheese curds on the menu. I'm wary of places that picture most of their burgers as double-meat, because that's what they expect you to order. It usually means that their patties are smashed thin and you end up with as much meat as most other place's singles, albeit at a higher price. (I'm looking at you Freddy's Steakburgers!) However, my double-cheddarburger had two nice sized patties on it, although I had to ask for mustard since it comes with mayonnaise. Haven't these people heard that cheeseburgers always come with mustard? Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have crinkle-cut fries, which are hard to find outside of an Ore-Ida bag. They were nice and hot and salted just right. Another bonus was that they make their own root beer! Every time I go to the Culver's in Flower Mound I always leave quite filled up & satisfied! I usually go 2 or 3 times per month. The food is always fresh & outstanding! Besides the fabulous, tasty burgers, they also have a complete menu of chicken, fish, potatoes, salads & desserts! The employees are always helpful & efficient! Not it's usual good place to eat. The fish was way over fried to an obvious burned making the fish inside the batter very dry. The French fries as well as the cheese curds were also fried too long. Very disappointing visit. read more

The burgers, fries, and onion rings are yummy. Staff is very nice and brings the food out to you. They also come by and check on you. Culver's root beer is a favorite of the whole family. My wife, Michelle ( I use her name because this is her Yelp account, I have never had a reason to post on this site before), wanted pot roast and so I looked up online restaurants who served pot roast and found Culvers. Drove 40 mins to this place. Ordered sandwiches, onion rings (we order Onion Rings every time we go out to burger joints as we prefer them over fries) and drinks. Greeted at counter nicely, ordered then took our cups to get drinks. Their Rootbeer is very good (has a bit of a birchbeer flavor to it and quite nice). We sat and chatted as this was a cheap date night for us and waited on food. Noticed the kids all chatting at the counter while the place had more straw wrappers on the floor than it should but not too dirty as tables and chairs were all clean. Well they bring food, with 1 order of rings and 1 order of fries. Told them we order rings only and even had a discussion with girl who took our order because it was our first time there (Flower Mound location). So I asked them to bring me rings. They said they could not as I was charged for fries and rings cost more. He then said I could come to the counter to pay the extra cost and they would provide me with the rings that I ordered. He then took the fries back to the counter and I left my wife and the rest of the food at the table and went to the counter and gave them the extra $1.08 and then asked to see the manager. This kid comes out and I told him about this issue and how I had to leave my wife at the table to come back to the counter to pay an extra dollar. He said sorry and that the girl that took my order must have gotten confused and that was that. Wow "NO" customer service there. 1. You need to learn from McDonalds (again another company trying to obtain good customer service like the #1 fast food place - Chick-Fil-a). McD's teaches all of their cashiers to read the order back to the customer after it is taken to catch errors. 2. Train your kids that when they have nothing better to do other than stand around chatting that they might want to clean the place instead. (5 straw wrappers on the floor around my table alone) 3. Teach your managers that when a customer is upset they should try to accommodate the customer. (I went to Red Robbin a few weeks ago with my wife, she got rings and I got garlic fries). Well they brought out regular fries for both of us. They apologized, gave us the regular fries to keep and eat while they brought out additional orders of rings and garlic fries so we would have a side to eat so as not to let our food get cold whilst waiting upon the correct sides. Nor did I have to leave the company of my wife to eat alone while I dealt with the screw up. They even absorbed the whole $1. Not sure how they will ever stay in business eating a whole $1 while delivering excellent customer service... Oh and your competition, Chick Fil A - I once was given the wrong sandwich there. It was far more expensive (at least 2 dollars) than the one that I had ordered and do you know what they did. They let me keep it "and" then they brought me the regular #1 that I ordered WITHOUT charging me extra (I know insane right) and as the late great Billy Mays used to say "but that's not all" - they even brought free refills of tea and lemonade to my table... and to top that, My wife and I got to eat our lunch together. HOW DO THEY DO IT!?!?! Yeah the food is good at Culvers (that I have to admit, even the onion rings) but the service is horrific - That one dollar that I had to get up and personally hand deliver to your counter while you counted the fries that you took back to make sure I did not take one... Yeah - That is the last dollar that I will ever spend on your POS franchise... read more

Yum! First time coming here and it was yummy. I had the butter burger with cheddar cheese. Omg this was so good. Not sure if it was the beef or the bun or the mixture of both. I also had the salted caramel brownie ice cream thing. Yum! I normally don't eat ice cream but that was so good. I almost could stop eating it. I definitely will be coming back! Service was okay. I ate here Thursday with my husband and daughter. He swears we'd been there before, but I'm pretty sure I'd remember this place. I had a chicken sandwich and fries--nothing to write home about. It's not the menu that stands out; it's how well they do the basics. The cashier was friendly and personable, and she wasn't in a major hurry, so she got our orders right--including all the condiments. The food took a few minutes to prepare, and we sat in the cheery dining room, while I sipped a great diet root beer. The food was hot when we were served. Crinkle cut fries made my husband wish he wasn't dieting, and the chicken was tender and yummy. We ordered a chocolate heath concrete and shared, and wow, that was almost too much. The only negatives are it's a bit pricier than fast food, and it's hard to get in and out of where it's located.
