All Culver's are not created the equal. The staff truly make all of the difference and this location is testament to that. We were hungry and had been on the road for over 4 hours. It was 114 PM when we exited at Jenison, MI to grab a lunch at Culvers. We're both huge Culvers fans but other than one visit to a location in New Glarus WI 20 years ago have not had any in the City of Chicago till a couple of years ago and its been a treat each and every time. Unfortunately the customer service in Chicago isn't always friendly as the staff usually act as through they are doing you a favor by taking your order. I've never waked away from the counter with a smile until this visit. Culvers #263 in Jenison MI is clean, safe, delicious and very friendly. I saw that they had a new limited edition burger that I had to try and am I glad that I did. A TRUE GAME CHANGER: The Pepper Grinder Pub Burger. It was so good that I bought another on my way home to Chicago. But it wasn't just the burger that was impressive. The clerk at Register #3 at the 1 PM hour was very friendly and referred to my LA GUNS shirts and talked about how much he likes the band and wanting to see them live. My friend who was driving on this long road trip had the Mushroom and Swiss Melt which is her favorite and she mentioned how rare it was to have very friendly and pleasant service something that is very unfamiliar at a particular Chicago location. Drive through with lots of options. The restaurant offers drive through or dining in. Service was good. They market themselves as making food fresh so it does take a minute. The food was good and packed neatly. No items were missing. We like that although it's fast food they offer salad options and unique things like soups, ice cream, shakes and so much more. Great place to grab some fish, burgers, salads or chicken sandwiches. Staff seemed to communicate well making too! We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, side salad, cheese curds and onion rings. We are regulars here. Usually find the Burgers and soups always fresh and full of flavor. It is usually kept clean and service good. The prices do keep going up. On this visit was disappointed with the fish basket. Super greasy could have used a paper towel instead of the plastic plate they put it on. The roll that came with it soaked up the grease -not tasty. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant and the tartar sauce was meh. It seems at the higher price point for Culver's $9+ the dishes should be just as good as the rest, if not better. read more

Something is wrong with the custard. I have tried it from here several times and there is something not right about it. It has a gritty almost curdled texture to it. I am not sure if they clean the ice cream machine but it is only this location it happens at and it's every single time I've come there. Curbside was supposed to be ready by 1:04 (I ordered at 12:53). I was there at 1:04 and let them know. At 1:09 I let them know I was there still, and replied to the email that I was there. At 1:20 I called the restaurant and finally reached an employee who said they were bagging my food. When it arrived to my vehicle, not of the soda's were marked which they were. I was missing utensils and napkins, straws, and I was missing the applejuice for my granddaughter. The employee wasn't helpful in replacing the missing items nor in trying to calm the situation of being over 15 minutes late. I called the store to ask for the manager and an employee finally answered. I had to repeat the managers name (from the receipt) 3 times, and then after a long pause the employee asked if I wanted to speak with him. I explained that I was upset at the service and was missing items, and yes I wanted to speak with him because that's why I called. I could hear the owner in the background telling the employee just take a message rather than servicing a customer. I highly recommend never going to this Culvers location and question utilizing and Culvers location in the future read more

During a time of restaurants being short staffed and struggling to find good workers, this Culver's has plenty of hard workers who serve you with a smile and always work at 100%. We started to go to Culver's for a late night bite a few weeks ago, and now we go almost 4-5 times a week here. The service is always amazing, especially from Gaby who usually is the one who ends up making our Concrete Mixers every night and always has a smile when taking our order. The back kitchen staff seems to consist of the same guy every night, and he's always made our food exactly right and it always comes out tasting great. Usually when we go get fast food we expect one or two things to be wrong, but we have never had any issues here. For a place that has fairly young workers, a large constant traffic flow of customers (drive thru is always jam packed full), and an expansive menu this place does everything right for fast food. I cannot recommend this specific location highly enough if you're getting hungry around 10pm and there are limited options. The workers do such a great job, please give them the decency to treat them with respect if your food takes a long time, it's amazing how well they can work with how busy they are. I hope the workers here have good management and appreciate their hard work, because without them this Culver's would not survive. It's always the same people so I have to assume they are being appreciated, and we will always be repeat customers at this location because of them. read more

The person taking the order had a bad attitude after trying to sneak in extra toppings to add to the cost of the order and didn't seem happy when they realized that their little game was not going to work. I went to this Jenison Culver's last night, and it was a disaster. All we ordered was one concrete mixer, and we waited in the drive through line for 30+ minutes. Ten or so people behind us got their entire meals before we got our one ice cream. I went inside to go check what was going on, and I was told that our order was lost. Finally, after like five or ten minutes inside waiting for them to figure it out, they finally remade it... and the order was still wrong! Felt bad at first but the staff have zero awareness to stop taking orders and try and get some food out that was luke warm to people who had been waiting 25+ minutes. Honestly for a fast food restaurant they aren't the fastest because they serve fresh to order food. At least this location does. And it hasn't been a let down yet. Their cheesy chili fries might be the better than checkers. Good spicy chicken sandwich too, but might not be as good as chic-fil-a and Popeyes. We regularly visit this location. I hopped on to check their hours for today (a holiday) and noticed their rating. After reading a few of the reviews, I noticed that multiple people mentioned they have visited this location multiple times and had good food and good service, until one time they didn't. And they chose that time to write a negative review. What in the world. The world would be a better place if people chose to write reviews after their good experiences, not just their bad ones. I would say that 90% of the time, we have fast, excellent service. Once in a while, it's just not super. And that happens...especially in the fast food industry. If you haven't tried to run a fast food restaurant in this time in history, please make a choice not to leave a negative review. If you don't get your custard in 25 minutes and see 10 cars behind you leaving, have some common sense to realize that your order may have been misplaced. It happens. This is the second time I've had TERRIBLE service by Catie. This time my son and I waited and waited for our food only for me to go up and find out Catie gave me the wrong number. And so instead of her offering to refund for my inconvenience I was just expected to wait even longer for them to remake our food ... so when I stated this I was refunded my money and then I had to leave with my son. Very disappointing when you waited over 25 minutes for food and then to be told to wait longer to get it right but no offering to refund and still get the food. She was very rude and didn't have the capacity to offer customer service. read more

The food was always good, until this last and final trip. I waited 20 minutes for my food, with 2 cars ahead of me. They didn't put all the condiments on the burger, they forgot the fries for the chicken basket, (not to mention how tiny the 2 pieces of chicken tenders were for an adult). Great sandwiches! I love the crispy chicken sandwich and the cheddar butter burger. I was a little disappointed with the Cod sandwich though, I thought it would have had more tartar sauce. The onion rings and french fries are hot and crispy as well as the mushrooms and fried cheese curds. The chicken strips are always hot as well, however, the chili I found to be watery, which was disappointing. The custard is delicious though if you like hot fudge or caramel on your ice cream and it comes with it, I would ask for extra...I feel they don't put enough on. Recently I ordered a banana split but there was no banana or extra fudge, just strawberries, whipped cream and ice cream. I may have gotten someone else's by mistake. Who knows. This is my second review on Yelp, but the first restaurant. I am not one to complaint and am usually pretty patient. Last year during the lockdown, this location was non stop busy and they served the community beautifully with good food and great service. This year, there must have been a tremendous change in management, for the worst. One can almost understand how on a Wednesday, one would wait a half an hour in a short line, as the manager sent everyone extra home including their "food runners" But on a Friday night at 7:00, a restaurant should be running on all cylinders. Food ordering went as expected when busy, but once waiting for the orders, that's where two long lines of cars sat. No food orders coming out for 15 minutes. After another 10, one customer went in. He said all the orders were just sitting there and his was cold. About 10 minutes more, finally receiving my order, after being assured "our orders wouldn't be cold" I got a cold burger with rubbery congealed cheese. 1st I asked for my order to be "to go" and it was brought to me on a tray. 2nd I ordered a small concrete mixer with Oreo cookies and cookie dough bites. When I got home and took a bite of the concrete mixer it had Oreo cookies and peanut butter cups in it. I'm HIGHLY allergic to peanut butter. I had serious allergic reaction after eating a bite of my mixer. I called the store and talked to Kaylee a manager and told her what happened. She apologized and told me to come in and when I said I'd be there after 4pm she said she would be there from 4-10pm. When I got there another employee said she wasn't there. I told them the situation and they didn't apologize for the serious mistake. They offered to make me a new mixer but I said I was about to go out to eat with a friend could I get a coupon instead and she said yes and "went to get them". She went and got a manager instead who then gave me my money back and that was it. No coupon no apology nothing. This was a serious mistake to make. Peanut allergies are highly common and if I had been deadly allergic to them it could have killed me. I work in a cookie shop and completely understand the seriousness of allergies and that yes though you can get busy employees need to be mindful that they have gotten a customers order correct. Employees need to listen better, pay attention, and be better at customer service. read more
