The hospitality at The Cheesecake Factory in Kentwood was top-notch for my wife's birthday dinner with her bff. Our waiter did an amazing job making sure we were taken care of, and he even brought her a nice birthday sundae to celebrate. My wife and her friend loved their food, but my dinner didn't live up to the rest of the experience. I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Gumbo. Coming from Louisiana, I have high standards for gumbo, but this turned out to be incredibly bland and lacked any traditional Cajun seasoning or spice. Learned recently that The Cheesecake Factory is mostly a scratch kitchen?! What an incredible thing to do while having a giant menu to boot. I ordered the Chicken Bellagio and it was delicious! It came with two large chicken breasts that were lightly breaded and fried, a slice of Prosciutto, some arugula, and a large portion of basil pesto pasta. If you like pesto and thinner pasta with a lighter flavor, this dish is for you! I was full after eating half of my entree and I didn't feel bloated like I usually do when I eat pasta. My waitress was friendly and attentive. I went in the early afternoon on a weekday, so it wasn't packed like it usually is. Looking forward to trying some other specialty dishes next time I'm there! read more

We had a pretty good experience here! Our food was delicious and very hot. The cheesecake was also delicious and the slices were huge. I appreciated the free birthday slice as well! Our server was really kind and attentive. The only reason I gave 4 starts is because all but one of our forks had dried, crusted food all over them and my iced tea had chunks floating in it (from dried food on the dirty glass.) Meeting my daughter for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory on 28th Street was nearly derailed by the chaotic mall parking situation. After a quarter-mile trek, we were pleasantly surprised to find immediate seating--so don't let the parking fool you. The menu is famously massive, and we got a laugh when my daughter couldn't find what she was craving until page 8. Some items appeared more than once, which added to the confusion. That said, the service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean and comfortably cool. Honestly this is a no for the Cheesecake Factory. I've been to other ones in other areas but it's been years. My friends and I went to the GR one on a Monday afternoon. We were sat in a booth by the bar. So the bartender was our server. I really hate when restaurants do that as the bartender gets busy and struggles to wait on tables. He was very nice. But this place is asking you to pay $30-$40 a person for food, pop, and a tip. Service and food isn't even close to that level. There was three of us, we didn't order anything special. One chicken sandwich, one eggs/potatoes/toast, and one lunch portion of meatloaf. Two of the items came out and not our waitress dropped them off and then left. Nothing was said about the third meal. We waited a few minutes while my friend found out her fries were cold and old. Food had been obviously sitting waiting to be served for some time as the plates were super hot. We flagged down our server to find the third entree and take back my friends fries. The plate of eggs/potatoes/toast is finally delivered. Eggs are super well done (supposed to be over easy). So we send that back to be fixed. The food was super subpar for the price. The fact we had to flag down our waiter multiple times. I've worked in restaurants for a long time. This one needs help. You need way better food for the price. I'd also like to point out we were there for an hour and 15 mins. That's quite long for the food we were given. We sat at the outside patio, and the service given was good. The music playing was very loud and odd we couldn't gauge what theme they were going for. I recently visited the Cheesecake Factory on Friday for lunch. We were seated right away. The service was slower after being seated. Brown bread is always on point! We ordered the following: hot wings, bone in buffalo flavor, spicy chicken nachos and the chipotle chicken penne pasta. The chicken wings were from the appetizer menu. They were $17.50 and you get a decent amount. The sauce is really close to just red hot and a side of ranch. For the nachos we added on the spicy chicken which is an upcharge. The total for nachos with spicy chicken was $17.95. The nachos have lots of toppings but are very greasy and ours were a little overdone as you can see in the picture. If you are looking for regular nachos, a comfort then these are a good option minus the overdone part. The lunch portion of the penne pasta was generous but it was also $17.50 for a lunch size! It tastes exactly as it sounds like chipotle chicken! They do put a lot of parsley though! Our server only came to our table once after someone else on staff brought our food. We did wait quite a bit to get our bill. I would say if you are going during your lunch hour, build some time in. read more

Had a really great experience once again at The Cheesecake Factory. My Georgia Peach drink was superb. First time trying the fried Mac and cheese and now I will always have to order them. The chicken potstickers were amazing. I was able to order the lunch portion of the Orange Chicken and it was the perfect portion. It was hot, crispy, and so flavorful. So let me start off by saying my waitress was super sweet and bomb! Her name was Dairee. Pronounced Dairy! Sorry if i misspelled it! But she was legit amazing and gave great recommendations and answered our questions honestly! For a Thursday the place wasn't too packed but had a nice crowd. I got the ribeye, mashed potatoes & spinach. Now everything was good but the spinach needed some salt! My steak was ordered "medium" and you all cooked it JUST RIGHT!!! Thank you!! SkinnyLicious Lemon-Garlic Shrimp was the perfect portion size and delicious. I'm one who loves that the calories are listed in everything. This restaurant is known for their HUGE portion sizes. Knowing this, you do sort of feel jipped when you get a plate with the smaller portion size, yet paying similar prices as the full dishes. Once I got over that, I enjoyed every single bite of the Lemon-Garlic Shrimp. I also ordered the Beet and Avocado Salad from the SkinnyLicious menu. The server came back saying the avocados were not ripe enough to serve. Slightly disappointed at first, I do appreciate the attention to the quality of ingredients being served! I think I chose a side Caesar instead. After the salad and dinner, I was stuffed and had no room for cheesecake! If I did, I would have ordered the Basque cheesecake. I haven't had it here butI have from Japanese bakeries and I love the slightly charred top with the smooth richness of the cheesecake. It was the perfect evening to eat outside on the patio! Our wait was quoted for 50 min so my girlfriend and I just sat in the waiting area and caught up. You go in expecting a wait (like most restaurants today), and you can always go next door to Barnes & Noble or explore the mall while you wait. My friends and I visited The Cheesecake Factory in Kentwood, MI on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday--but the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. We first tried using the Cheesecake Factory app to make a reservation. While the app was functional, it only offered us a reservation time 2.5 hours later, even though earlier slots should have been available. Despite that limitation, we made the booking and headed to the restaurant. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be under an hour, so we decided to stay--though it was frustrating to wait that long when several booths sat visibly empty. Once seated, our server greeted us warmly and asked if we were celebrating anything special. We shared that we were celebrating a birthday. She politely took our drink orders and gave us time to look over the menu. After 10-15 minutes, our drinks arrived, and we asked to order the Crispy Fried Cheese appetizer. A few minutes later, she returned to tell us that the last order had just been served and the item was now unavailable. By this point, we were already hungry from the wait and delays, so we decided to skip the appetizer and place our entrée orders. My friend ordered the Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp, his mother ordered the Veggie Burger, and my mother and I both ordered the Madeira Chicken. The waitress also mentioned that no bread was currently available, but fresh bread might be coming out shortly. Just 5-10 minutes later, the waitress returned again--this time to say that the Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp was no longer available. This was frustrating and unacceptable. Running out of popular menu items, especially back-to-back, suggests extremely poor management and inventory planning. My friend ended up ordering the Spinach Dip with Nachos instead. He even asked the waitress, half-jokingly, if that was still available. She smiled and said she'd check. When she came back to confirm, she added that this kind of thing happens all the time at this location--and that sometimes the list of unavailable items is "a foot or two long." When the food finally arrived (after another 15-20 minutes), things only went downhill: The Spinach Dip was bland and lacked any seasoning--it was just melted cheese with wilted spinach. The Garden Burger was, quite frankly, inedible. I took one bite and couldn't stomach any more. The Madeira Chicken, my usual go-to at Cheesecake Factory locations (whether in Chicago, Hong Kong, or elsewhere), was a major letdown. The sauce was overly sour and unpleasant--I had to scrape it off just to eat the chicken. This visit left us completely dissatisfied. Nothing about the experience--service, food, or management--was redeeming. I would absolutely not recommend this location, and I strongly urge Cheesecake Factory's corporate office to investigate the management practices at Kentwood. After our visit, I read reviews from other customers, and even the generous 3-star average now makes sense. Sadly, it seems this kind of experience is more common here than it should be. read more

The Cheesecake Factory has been open since 2019 but Nate and I finally decided to check it out since we had a gift card we could use. I'd been turned off by the reports of super long wait times even after they'd been open for awhile, so when we arrived around noon on a Saturday I wasn't surprised when the quoted wait for our party of two was 40-45 minutes. They don't use buzzers anymore, they'll text you when your table is ready and you have to be there within 10 minutes. We debated heading across the street to run an errand at Lowe's, but it's a good thing we didn't, because the wait only ended up being about 20 minutes. The restaurant space seems really large, especially compared to what used to be here - I think a Bar Louie. I love the amount of comfortable booth seating. Our server, Audrey, was great. She was patient and gave us plenty of time to look over the massive menu, which can definitely be overwhelming. I stuck with the lunch specials page which gives a few options from each section at smaller portions and slightly lower prices. I didn't realize they also offer some breakfast items all day, as well as weekend brunch. We started with an order of the Brussels sprouts which were really tasty - super crispy and a good amount of bacon and a slightly sweet glaze. Then we got some bread dropped off to our table, which was just ok. I thought the crusty sourdough bread was way too crusty and tough to eat, but the brown bread was better. Nate ordered a Perrin Black and they have a variety of cocktails and beverages like lemonades. At $7 it was a bit pricey for a local beer but he enjoyed it. I ordered the spicy chipotle chicken pasta (penne pasta, honey glazed chicken, asparagus, red and yellow peppers, peas, garlic and onion in a spicy chipotle parmesan cream sauce) and Nate got a combo with a margherita flatbread and a Caesar salad. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was hot. I was surprised by the pasta - it was flavorful, not spicy at all, and had some nice veggies. The amount of chicken in the dish was decent too. It had a pretty pronounced sweet note from the honey glazed chicken, which I actually liked. The portion was still pretty large so I had leftovers for a snack the next day. Nate's flatbread was delicious! We both loved it. The flavors were fresh and bright, and the salad was also a huge portion so we got to share that. Of course we had to get some cheesecake - my go-to is the white chocolate truffle, which we split. It came with two massive clouds of whipped cream - so indulgent! Overall it was a nice visit and I'm glad we finally checked it out. It was a bit pricey for a lunch date, we spent about $70 after tip. I don't think I'd make The Cheesecake Factory a go-to place but it's nice to have in the area as an option. read more

We love this location!! Every time we come here we have a wonderful time. Everyone is so professional and works so hard. The food is incredibly delicious and reliably good every time we go. (We had the Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was so good it's now one of our favorites!!) It was particularly busy tonight, but our food came in a timely manner. The staff here is like a well oiled machine. We even saw managers on the floor helping and supporting their staff! That is what I love to see. Rachel we have had as a server a few times and she is incredible! Always has the best recommendations and she is so incredibly sweet. She treats our toddler like a part of the table and is a ray of sunshine. Made our rare family night out a treat. Kaylee is an incredible server! In the face of an obviously difficult table (by no fault of her own) she remained professional and pleasant. She is attentive to her tables, uses great communication about delays and is courteous to coworkers. To the server who gave my little one stickers you are her hero.
