    Memorial Day tribute.

Burgers are always an American stable. They make a good burger, and pretzel bites are awesome! My family and I have been to Culver's in at least 5 different states. They have ALL been friendly and prompt. They are clean, but this Memorial Day Weekend got me. They had a table set, to honor, and remember our fallen. It meant so much to me I wanted to share. Here are the pictures. Thank you, God Bless!

I'm thinking of taking Culver's to court over what can legally be called "deluxe." Also "It'll be 60 cents for that ranch dressing" is a great way to ensure I never eat at your establishment ever again. Take note, corporate data collectors: condiments should be free, especially when the food looks like THIS.

Waited in the drive through for 12 mins waiting for one of the more simple orders of the day. Food was cold and I was upset. The location had no one waiting at the time and I was the first one in the line. Very disappointed due to the fact a single deluxe burger is now over $5. Prices are through the roof and as someone from Wisconsin, the quality just isn't the same from my home state.

Ridiculously small portions (10 fries in a large order) a double patty means that you take a normal patty and make into two.

I think I think the 3x3 more than the double double! The staff was very friendly. Although there was a little bit of wait, it was forgivable considering how busy they were when I arrived. Two of my traveling companions insisted that our road trip could not proceed until we made a pilgrimage to the location on Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. Because we live on the East Coast where this particular brand of fast food does not exist, they spoke of the restaurant with a quiet, holy reverence. One would think we were approaching an ancient mountain sanctuary rather than a burger joint with crisscrossed neon palm trees. The parking lot was a scene of controlled suburban chaos. Inside, the dining room was intensely clean. Young workers wearing crisp white aprons, red paper hats, and giant safety pins moved with the focused speed of emergency room nurses. Behind the counter, an employee was actively converting raw potatoes into fries with a mechanical slicer right in front of the counter. I ordered a Double Double, an order of Animal Style fries covered in "spread" and grilled onions, and a lemonade. The beef was fresh and never frozen, the lettuce was crisp, and the total cost was surprisingly reasonable. It was a very good, highly efficient lunch. This is where I must commit a mild blasphemy: I still prefer Five Guys. Somewhere in California, a true believer has just dropped his burger in absolute horror. Five Guys offers chaotic brown paper bags spilling over with greasy fries. In-N-Out offers geometric perfection, extreme order, and a secret menu that everyone on earth seems to know about. In-N-Out has mastered the art of doing a few simple things with absolute precision. I respect the machinery of it, and if I am ever passing through Arvada for some reason again, I will happily stop for another meal. I will simply leave the religious devotion to someone else.

The sauces were good and flavorful. The chile rellanos were soft which is not my preferred style (I like crispy), but they were great. They came with rice and beans and sour cream and guac and were smothered with a tortilla on the side. I really enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly. There is an interesting quirk to this place, I think it is the only place I have been to that has the drive-through on the wrong side. So, you pick the order up through your passenger window. I wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but it was fine. The person at the window stretches out to you with a tray and uses this method to hand your payment and food back and forth. I will say, part of the menu board was hard/impossible to read with the way they have it set up. I had to pull up, read the combos, then back up and enter the drive thru. Not a big deal, but this is one place that makes this place a little different than the rest. I would say that the strange drive thru configuration may impact you if you have a handicap and cannot lean far over your passenger seat to get your order and pay so keep that in mind if handicapped. Overall, it was great. I will definitely be back.

The broth was deep and aromatic and the portion size, especially with the beef rib, was massive. Everything was so impressive that since that visit, this place has been on my regular rotation for pho. Beside Pho, they have a few other offerings, one of which is rather unique. For the more adventurous, Faifo offers a spicy beef pho. This is a dry-style pho serves with all the fixin' and a spicy sate style sauce that makes for an amazing meal on a hot day. It also comes with a bowl of pho broth for satisfying sips between bites. This is easily one of my favorite dish on the menu and a must try here. Beside that, I've also had their Bun Bo Hue, which is pretty dang tasty. The broth is very tasty, though not as funky or spicy as ones I've had in Vietnam. Nonetheless, it's a mighty tasty bowl and something to get for the colder days here in Denver. Both the Bo Kho and the Banh Canh are also very good as well, though not a must compared to other dishes on the menu. Overall, Faifo is a great Vietnamese restaurant. The value is also tremendous given the portion size. This is an easy 4/5 for me.

Their bò kho definitely reminds me of my father's recipe, which is rich and not overly sweet. This aromatic Vietnamese beef stew is a fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, star anise, and spices. It's a bowl of distinct and complex flavor profile that balances savory, sweet, spicy notes, with a vibrant brick-red color from the annatto seeds. The cuts of beef shank, flank, and chuck were soft so you know they spent hours simmering to achieve this level of tenderness. The deep beef profile is highlighted when adding bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime juice to cut through the richness and carrots provided a natural sweetness to the savory broth. Bánh canh is a Vietnamese noodle soup featuring thick, chewy noodles made from tapioca flour, rice flour, or a mix, served in a flavorful broth with various toppings like pork, shrimp, crab, or fish cake. The broth is clean from the hours of simmering bones to create a savory, collagen-rich base. You can taste the freshness of the soup garnished with fresh cilantro, green onions, fried shallots, lime, and chili oil. Plus you get a boat load of proteins and garnishes - shrimp cake, imitation crab meat, shrimp, quail egg, mushroom, tapioca noodle, onion, cilantro and black pepper. We'll be back and try the bún bò huế and cá ri.
