    Coffee options!

So I love me some QT but that gas station is no where to be found up north. We were out and in need of some (not gas) but medicine lol. We were not near any drug stores or grocery stores so we decided to check here. Cumberland is a super cool little store in addition to a gas station. They had a medicine section (of course more expensive as it would be for any gas station but they had what we needed ! ) We also got a few coffees they have iced and hot options small and large both are 99 cents (a great value). I got the French vanilla cappuccino which was delicious! The store was very clean and those working there were very nice and willing to help. The gas prices were also good that day. Cheaper than what I saw anywhere else in that area actually! A good spot for a quick meal, snack or beverage!

Store #1700, just opened 8/31/17 on Route 7 in Latham. Gleaming new, moving aggressively into Stewart's territory, this location has everything. Huge amounts of parking, 8 pumps, its own traffic light (plus right turn into the parking lot westbound on 7), and lots of space inside. The restrooms are large (but not unisex) and tucked in at one end. Everything about this on Day 1 is nice except they're still working out staff issues, of course. I predict it will be bad news for the Mobil down the block in one direction and the Sunoco Xtra Mart at the Niskayuna line, but Stewart's will do fine -- it's on the opposite side of the road, at a crossroads, and it's Stews. Despite the smaller footprint there's nothing Cumberland Farms has that Stew's has. The gas prices are currently 2 cents less per gallon for non-members than the Stewarts, 12 cents less - Cumberland Farms' gas loss-leader MO. (The Sunoco's a full dime more expensive even than Stew's). It does not have ethanol-free gas, though, unlike Stew's high-octane 91.

Looks like a nice location but it doesn't help when they lock the doors and shut off the gas pumps at 8:45pm on a Saturday night.

I've debated many times about reviewing here. Most experiences are decent. However, every time this…read moreold lady works there, she's super rude and sarcastic. I went in for ice cream but was taken aback by her rudeness. I walked out with nothing. If I pull in to get something and see her there I will not go in. I will not subject myself to her demeaning attitude. In the past i gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe she just had a bad day. But every time I go there, she is awful! Terrible for business.

I am not a Convenience Store person for the most part, having a limited appetite for lottery…read moretickets, cigarettes, and forty cents a can beer. But Stewart's is so darn cute it's hard not to like, and it's sort of unique in my experience among convenience chains. First off, it's locally-owned, and Stewart's has been a good neighbor and corporate citizen (such as these things go). Their employees are far less surly than typical convenience store folk, sometimes (as at this location) downright chipper. I also am keen on their diagonally-oriented aisles, which break up the store and tend to lessen the usually glum looking-for-a-Ho-Ho experience of a quick trip to the 24 hour store. The thing that makes Stewart's, though, is their continued use of modest seating areas inside. It's far closer to that old general store vibe than anything out there in the retail world these days - friendlier than the post office, more amenable to conversations with strangers than Starbucks or Dunky's, and with their relatively brighter stores with exterior views out from the eating booths, it's (strange to say) not that bad a short hang out spot. This particular location is an upgraded large-format Stewart's, and the staff have been pretty good. Only the occasional creepy character has darkened its doorstep in my limited patronage, which is well above par. You can enter from both Vly and Route 7 fairly easily (except at rush hour), particularly heading eastbound. And compared to the Xtramart across the street -- which is larger but far skeevier -- it's a more pleasant experience.

I recently had a disturbing and infuriating experience at this Cumberland Farms location. I went in…read moreto purchase two Gatorlite drinks, advertised as 2 for $5, but they rang up as $5.50. With tax, the total came to $5.94. When I pointed out that the sales tax should be $0.40, not $0.94, I was met with disbelief and outright hostility. The employees insisted that the $0.94 was the correct tax, despite it clearly being an error in their system. Instead of addressing the issue, the two employees--both of whom were of a different race than I am--ganged up on me. Their behavior quickly escalated from rude to what felt like a racially motivated attack. They repeatedly insisted "it's the tax," in a mocking tone, refusing to listen to any explanation. I was laughed at, ridiculed, and made to feel as though my concerns were invalid simply because of who I am. It felt like I was being singled out and demeaned based on my race. Eventually, they asked if I even wanted the drinks, making it clear they had no interest in resolving the situation or treating me with basic respect. What's even more concerning is that they claimed every customer is told "that's the tax" and no one ever complains. If that's true, then Cumberland Farms is potentially collecting illegal sales tax on thousands of transactions per day. Now that this review is public, if Cumberland Farms doesn't address this issue with these employees, they could be guilty of negligence and should be fined. I hope New York State gets their $0.94 tax on this transaction, which I doubt will happen under these circumstances. For reference, my receipt number is 221-2080, in case Cumberland Farms wants to do their due diligence and investigate. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I've ever had, and the fact that it appeared to be racially motivated makes it all the more unacceptable. Unbelievable that this is what customer service has come to today. I would recommend screening and better training of employee's zero stars if I could. This was definitely not about the 50 cents per transactions theft , but the principle of the matter .

The two girls at the counter said that the restroom key was with a lady who was using the ladies' restroom. I told them to give me the men's restroom they said they have only one key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told them I can't wait, I will pee in my pant, so they started laughing while I was suffering. I am a 75 year old diabetic person but they didn't respect my age, they were laughing. This happened today at 4:10 pm. Those employees must be fired, and the person who is responsible for training new employees must do a better job preparing the employees to deal respectfully with customers.
