Too much sauce. There aren't enough vegetables to balance out the meal. It is just protein, carb, carb, and a minute amount of cabbage. Their dumplings weren't fresh and a little cold. Super lame food for a fairly high price. I got the number 4, the barbecued chicken bowl. I gave it to a friend so the remarks on the food are hers. You get a choice of rice or noodles and I got the rice which was just standard white rice. The rice was cooked nicely, not overcooked or gummy. It was served with about 3 oz of barbecued chicken that seemed pretty fatty and gummy. Other than that, there wasn't anything. No vegetables, no toppings like onions or wontons for crunch, just chicken and white rice. For $10.50, this seemed really basic and boring. It does come with your choice of sauce, and there are 10 different varieties, ranging from mild to very spicy. I went with a 5, which looked like a teriyaki sauce. It apparently was a little sweet and gingery with a touch of spice. The service here wasn't very friendly, and when I asked for suggestions I just got a shrug. They asked if I wanted a meal combo but I'm not sure if that's just a drink along with the bowl or something else. Along with barbequed chicken you can also get fried chicken, spicy fried chicken, steak, pork, tofu, veggies, or potstickers. There are kid's sized options as well, and you can get sides of potstickers, rice, noodles, or veggies. They do have gluten free options and vegetarian and vegan options. Sauces are marked for allergens, which is nice. The space is kind of funky, in the old Thomas Hammer coffee shop, and has beautiful tiling. Saw Cupbop on Shark Tank and HAD to try. It was very "meh" to me and I'm sad to say that Shark Tank led me in with high high expectations. I tried a combo bowl to get a few different tastes and the food was good but I felt like something was missing. What I really disliked was the mayo and lime sauce (get that on the side just in case). This was soooo delicious. My first meal right after landing in Boise and maybe the best I'll have while I'm here. We stumbled into it because of the interesting premise and were greeted sooo kindly by the staff who walked us through the process. Then they gave each member of my family and I free potstickers since it was our first time. The food was ready instantly, and when we tried it, we were all amazed! Such delicious flavors. Ok, I believed in the Cupbop hype after watching them on Shark Tank. Gotta support my fellow Asians and I happened to be in Idaho over the summer. The food did not disappoint! I ordered the KKO KKO Bop which has Korean BBQ chicken, noodles, rice, and cabbage plus the #3 sauce. What I really love about this biz is how they are making Korean food more accessible and approachable. I grew up around Korean quick service restaurants and I want to love Cupbop so much but it's just too saucy for me. I love the concept of a Korean Chipotle type of model but maybe I just haven't figured the right way to order yet. I got a level 7.5 combo with their fried chicken and beef bulgogi which came with their glass noodles, rice, and cabbage. I do like a bit of spice, which is why I got level 7.5 but once again it was just a lot of different sauces that were not necessarily spicy nor were the sauces something to write home about- so it just really overwhelmed the bowl. I also ordered a side of their kimchi, which I admit I am a bit of a kimchi snob but it was very sour and not very spicy. One thing I really love are the different Korean drinks that they offer here! I got a Korean melon drink here once before and it was delicious, even though I probably looked a little odd in line only getting a drink. read more

Highly recommended by several people at work. I had the Korean chicken no rice, spice level 5. The service was outstanding the gal who took my order offered extra noodles in place of rice which I declined since I'm really a meat and vegetable fan. The guy who finished my order added a complimentary pot sticker since it was my first time at Cupbop. I really enjoyed the shake to mix everything up. I would have rates a 5 except the cup was too light on the cabbage mix. That was kinda disappointing. When I go back I'm gonna have the beef, extra cabbage, spice 7 and let it sit and marinate an hour because I couldn't finish the cup at lunch and a few hours later the flavor was ah mazing. read more

We ordered the rockbop(spicy lvl:3) and hotbop(spicy lvl:5). The hot bop was a little sweet and not very spicy. It was good but I just wished it had been a little spicier. The rock bop seemed spicier to both of us. Both were pretty good though. Not phenomenal but definitely worth a try if you are curious. read more

I got a combo noodle bop bowl with tangy (rock bop) chicken and mandoo at level 3 spicy, and it was fantastic! The bowl isn't the prettiest aesthetically, but it is sooo good lol!!! I ordered through Grubhub, and they packaged it very neatly with the option to either use chopsticks or a fork (both of which they provided with napkins). They also remembered to send a straw for my drink. Overall, I will definitely be ordering this again before I leave the Boise area!! read more

I was so disappointed with my experience at this location on 7/14 for dinner with a friend. The staff was rude, I usually get the combo with no rice and extra cabbage, I had to ask the girl 3x's for more cabbage then I got attitude from the sauce person! The portions were so small! When we went to sit down all the tables were dirty. This experience will not stop me from eating at one of my favorite places just not this location. The Meridian location is so much better, friendly staff who says "Hi" to each customer when they walk In the door no matter how busy they are, the restaurant is clean and no attitude. These 2 workers at the Boise location need some training in customer service! read more
