Me and my guy decided to have a lunch out and decided to go to Rice in Eagle. We sat at the bar and ordered from the lunch special menu-drunken noodlea and panang curry. We enjoyed a bottle of plum wine and this delicious, flavorful food. Everything was fresh and delicious and our bartender Brandon was amazing! In fact all the staff were friendly. The atmosphere is filled with plants and decorative lighting. It was a nice respite to or a little getaway. I highly recommend this as a lunch spot! It is a little gem in Eagle. read more

The pairing of flavors on this one absolutely divine! Tuna ceviche tower - yum!! Not totally sure if I'm getting this right but the waiter suggested a short rib Massamun dish and that was a nice surprise! Good first experience at Rice on Thursday, which turned out to be live music night--and happy hour too. My mom loved her mango paradise mocktail (drank two). HH priced potstickers were good. K-beef tacos were a good bargain--I can't say more because my mom repo'd my tacos for herself. We packed up my mom's general chicken, to my husband's credit and he gave it a thumbs up. Good menu options for sushi and Thai food. Opted for the Combination A sushi entree which had a good selection of sashimi and nigiri sushi. It wasn't Nobu quality, but it also wasn't Nobu price. $30 for the little boat was a very good value and the sushi was enjoyable. $9 for a 20 oz Sapporo bottle also seems fair these days. Service was prompt and friendly. I'll be going back during this visit to try the curry lunch options. read more

Used to be my favorite thai spot! Last time myself and the rest of my family left feeling sick and had the runs. Not sure if this happens a lot but after reading reviews...seems to be a trend. One server (older gal with glasses) in particular always has an attitude with any modifications, questions or anything that seems to be above bare minimum. The first thing that strikes you on walking to the entrance is the pretty flowers that adorn the outdoor patio. When you walk inside, the staff are cheery, polite, and welcoming. The Thai iced tea was just the right sweetness and full-flavored. Our favorite appetizer were the fish tacos, with lightly battered cod, atop yummy aioli sauce, avocado, cabbage; and although my sister loved them with the mango salsa, I preferred them with a touch of the tartar sauce. The Pad See Ewe with steamed tofu was the best our teen said they ever had. But I liked the freshness of the mixed poke salad, while my partner enjoyed the unagi and sake nigiri. And then we enjoyed a large smattering of different sashimi, and the Surprise Roll. Yes, we ordered a lot for lunch and had multiple leftovers. All in all, everyone left full and satisfied. So much so, that we came back the next evening to try their dinner! And this time we tried the Double Deck, Crab Stuffed Salmon, Beef Short Ribs (pretty blue rice!), Massaman Short Ribs, and more Pad See Ew. Had an amazing family dinner here. The food was spectacular. I had the Panang Curry which was outstanding! The service was great and we shared an order of the Mango Sticky Rice and bread pudding for dessert. My parents dine here fairly often for the Kung Pao I tried it and it was fantasti. Not a great place to have good sushi. The products used were not crisp everything felt like it was leftovers from the previous day. That wilted old taste. The cucumber in mine was spoiled, they said it wasn't so there's that.....ok. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to identify an old mushy cucumber. People get so defensive if you give criticism. They think your looking for a free meal guess what I don't want anything but for you to do better, the huffing and eye rolling like oh she's just a bitch, nope just do better. I've never dined inside here, I just got takeout but the food is pretty great based on my takeout experience! I got a lunch portion of the general's chicken with brown rice and a very delicious tempura shrimp roll that had cucumber, cream cheese, avocado, jalapeño, Sriracha and honey lemon sauces with adorable little slices of lemon.. yummy! I highly recommend getting that roll if you like shrimp and sweet, spicy and citrus-y flavors. I feel lucky to have this place located in the same plaza my workplace is located and I will definitely stop here when I'm in the mood for Asian cuisine from now on. read more

I said I was going to come back and try other items on their menu so lunch brought me to Rice again. What I do really appreciate about Rice is that their lunch menu extends till 4. Some places you have to get there by 2 but having the option till 4 is nice! I did come a little later today so it was slower. It was nice to eat in a slower environment. My server was the same server as the last time I dined here. She didn't really have a personality. Really blunt and to the point. It makes you feel like just another customer. No warmth or excitement to her approach. She did do her job by checking up on us and filling waters but that's about it. It's just another table type of attitude. For lunch I ordered the yellow curry with tofu. It came out on a beautiful plate. The presentation could have been handled a little better. There a yellow curry all over the plate. It looked really sloppy. For a lunch portion, there was a good amount of tofu, baby potatoes and carrots. They also give you a nice portion of rice with the curry. The curry had a nice amount of heat to it. It was creamy with the coconut milk and savory with the yellow curry. The first few bites were great but after that I did notice the curry was on the sweeter side. My favorite bite was the rice that soaked up the sauce with a chunk of tofu. It was a decent lunch but overall, it was on ok experience this time. Side note- the sugar container had dried sauce all in the side of it. With such a pretty establishment you'd think the things they bring to their customers would be a little cleaner. read more

First time here for us since we moved to Treasure Valley in June. We came on a Saturday just after noon and there were only a few other customers. We were told to seat ourselves. We sat at a table with nice antiquish chairs near the sushi bar. Brandon was our server and he did a really great job taking care of us. Very nice, professional, and attentive. We both ordered the miso soup and chicken Pad Thai at a 2 spice on a scale of 5. It was delicious, the right kick but still able to enjoy all the flavors. The sweet and sour taste was really yummy. Let me start by saying how impressed I was by the service at this restaurant. My husband and I went to dinner on a Friday night, and I don't think I've ever received my meal faster. We started off ordering drinks and an app. I got the lemon basil signature cocktail that our waitress recommended. It had great flavor and is the signature cocktail for obvious reasons! We also ordered the cream cheese wontons. Within 5 minutes of ordering, both the drinks and apps were brought to our table. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and the wonton noodles in broth, both were great! The pad Thai does have more of a sweet flavor, so if you want more spice ask for Sriracha! There wasn't a price on the special menu and she never mentioned that the lobster special would be $30.00 there was only one price listed on the entire menu and it said 12.99 so we assumed that it would be 12.99. very misleading and super disappointed. It had been a while since we had Rice and decided to go for a late lunch. The patio is delightful and interior seems calm. Our server was nice but didn't seem super personable. Food came out quickly so that was nice. We ordered the Snake River Roll, Fried Rice Coconut, and Fish tacos. The roll was good. Nothing super crazy but light and easy to eat, sauce was also good. We'd get it again. The fish tacos were okay. Tarter sauce was really good paired with the slaw and fish was tempra breaded, but fish inside was a little dry. Tortilla was your basic flour you could get from any grocery. The fried rice coconut left much to be desired. Rice was greasy and bland. Shrimp was a little chewy but tasted dirty with not much flavor. There was a chunk of coconut inside that was mixed in with the rice and that was unpleasant since it may its way into a bite of rice. I've ordered takeout from Rice a couple times now, and they have yet to let me down. I love how large their menu is - seriously, it takes me forever to decide what I want, the options are nearly endless! The first time I ordered, I chose the India Chicken Tikka Masala curry (chicken in an India tikka yogurt based curry sauce served with basmati rice and Naan flat bread with mango salad dipping sauce, $16.99), also requesting it be level 5 spice. Surprisingly, the spiciness met my expectations and didn't burn my taste buds raw, but they were tingling! The chicken was cooked perfectly, not tough at all. The overall flavor of the dish was exceptionally delicious and perfectly flavored. The mango salad dipping sauce was superb! Blended very well with the warm, fluffy slices of naan. On my second take out order, I decided to try their sushi menu. I must admit, I was a tiny bit skeptical at first when I noticed some their sushi rolls had lettuce, and I avoided those. I ordered the Little Dragon roll (spicy tuna, asparagus, & cucumber topped with hamachi, avocado, & masago mixed with tempura flakes, spicy mayo, lemon sauce, & eel sauce, $14.95) with steamed mixed veggies ($3.00). Wow, I was so surprised how pretty the roll was! It was so eye-catching and beautifully presented, even as take out. Alas, I cannot say it tasted as great as I had hoped. I found it kind of flavorless and loaded up the wasabi, ginger slices and soy sauce. It was okay, I wouldn't order it again. A+ for presentation, B for execution. The steamed veggies were nice! Overall, Rice isn't bad at all. They definitely have some strong menu items, and others that could use improvement. I will be back to try more! read more

The most white people "Asian" food I've ever seen. Some of it was really good for what it was, some was so gross I couldn't believe it. Our server acted like we were a hassle to even be there- not kind and kept trying to rush away from us and sighing if we asked for anything. We were the only table..? Maybe she was busy in the back or something idk but she didn't even smile or seem like she cared at all. The bartender was beyond kind and the only reason this place isn't getting one star. Food is ok. A wide ranging menu. Service is good.A good place for lunch or a casual dinner. Rice has just about any type of Asian food: Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, and probably a few others. A huge menu. Not really my preference, but it does mean that everybody will find something to eat. I think that the food is getting better over time. Still not great, but the noodles are pretty good. Even some of the curries are good. Haven't tried having spicy food or sushi, and that might drop the score... Desserts can be pretty good, but have also gotten not-quite-ripe mango. Rice is consistent. I've eaten there many times, and while I've never had anything truly amazing, it's always satisfyingly good and at a fair price. Service is similarly quick and friendly.
