I guess for whatever reason it seems as though they had salted their noodles. 90% noodles and the rest are strips of egg beef and a couple spinach. Also order the combo plate. The ttekboki was delish and spicy. Kim chi was good. Bulgogi was a bit spicy when generally ordered it is not. I'm not sure if the business catered toward a Boise pallet or just needs improvement. This place was okay... We tried the bulgogi with rice and the galbi with rice. The bulgogi was a little too sweet for my taste, and the galbi pieces were way too fatty. For $15-20 per bowl, it honestly felt kind of like a rip-off. Overall, I'd say it's just a decent Korean food spot. read more

The food was delicious! I got the combo special with Fried K-chicken and Bulgogi Joomukbap with a Mango green tea with boba and it was so good! The atmosphere is fun, it was a little humid inside though, but loved that Kpop was playing on the speakers and it's in the center of downtown Boise which was perfect for walking around. The girls working were so sweet and knew what to recommend. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Boise. read more

The food at Seoul Street is pretty good and comes out fairly quickly. Service is quite friendly, and the lady behind the counter was very patient as we tried figuring out the menu. We appreciated how many vegan options they have, which is rare for fast food restaurants in the US. My only complaint is that the portion sizes are terribly small compared to the prices. We spent nearly $50 for two people, and didn't even get drinks. read more

The perks of working downtown is all the fun food joints. It's been a hot minute since I have been to Seoul St. Cafe. The last time I came was when it first opened. This joint is only a block from my work so I headed here for some food. I came at a later time so it was slow. It was nice not to have to deal with the lunch rush. The young man at the register took my order and got my drink started for me. I ordered a strawberry lychee lemonade. For food I got a spam musabi and jachae. The strawberry lychee lemonade was really refreshing. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness to it. The spam musabi was freshly made. The seaweed was crispy, it had a hearty amount of rice and a good chunk of spam. It was good but it would have been nice to have the spam cooked in the sweet sauce vs just warning up the spam and drizzling the sauce over it. The japchae was hot! It had fantastic pieces of veggies, beef and egg. It was savory with the right amount of sesame oil. I got a side of it and it was a nice amount! I'm happy I stopped in today to grab a quick meal. This place smells like walking into my mom's kitchen! It's a cute place on the corner that is very clean and has outdoor seating. We've been a few times and we love it every time. We've tried the fried spicy K-chicken, bulgogi kimbap, bulgogi and rice, Tteokbokki, Rabokki. Joomukbap, and the fried dumplings. Everything we've tried has had amazing flavor. The Tteokbokki was a perfect balance of soft and chewy and the flavor was perfect. The dumplings were awesome and the bulgogi was good as well. I did not try the fried chicken, but my kids really liked it and they've grown up with Korean food. The only thing that one of the kids wasn't a big fan of was the Rabokki, and it's only because it is one flavor throughout the entire dish. It's basically the Tteokbokki sauce on the ramen as well so it just ended up being too much of the same thing especially since it was pretty dense. It still tasted delicious and we took leftovers home for the rest of the kids to try. I haven't tried any of the DIY ramen bowls but they have several options to choose from. We also have not tried the teas or smoothies but I will try one next time we stop in. Best part about this restaurant is the owners and they actually prepare the food. They were both so pleasant and we enjoyed chatting with them. They put a lot of heart into this food and it shows! So if you're craving some Korean home cooking or even something new, you should give this place a try! read more

I used to work in Oklahoma City, which had a significant Korean population, so I spent a few years trying many Korean eateries, and chicken bulgogi quickly became my go-to dish. So, when I found Seoul St. Cafe, their chicken bulgogi was my first order, and I was happy with it. It perfectly captured the sweet and savory balance I'd come to love. The cafe itself has a cute, inviting atmosphere with warm lighting. A fun photo booth adds a playful touch. The service is good; the owners seen to care about their customers. They made sure I got a little Kimchi with my order though I didn't ask for it, which was welcome. Everything seemed fresh and made to order yet served quickly. Prices are fair for the quality and authenticity. Seoul St. Cafe delivers on authentic Korean flavors and warm service. I went here the other day for dinner and I didn't really know what to expect but in having experienced this restaurant, I might not go back. I'm not a huge of KPOP and they had it going the whole time I was there so there's that, but I did think the food was good even though they said they were out of all their meats except beef. Also the employees could have been friendlier, not "want to know my entire life's history" friendly but at least smiling and making me feel welcomed instead of a hollow "hi, welcome in" and a "what else" at the register. Decided to have dinner before seeing Henry Cho at Egyptian Theater-making it a Korean celebration. Went with my BTS friends, we're all familiar with Korean food and hadn't tried Seoul Street yet. Got Bulgogi & Rice with side of kimchi. Seasoned okay and quality of beef was so-so, portion was generous. Don't think it's worth the drive downtown. Koco Bell has better food, but they just closed. Don't give very many so-so or negative reviews, especially of late. Food establishments are having a rough time of it surviving with rising costs and competing for business from customers trying to spread out their eating out budgets. read more

The cashier was cold and unhelpful. The food was cold. Very cold. We ordered Bibimap. The egg was cold and hard like it was cooked hours ago. The meat was a microscopic portion. We sat in the front against the window. It was cold so we moved to the back. It was even colder because a door was open in the back. For two Bibimap and a small tea it was $42. Including a tip (regretful). My wife wanted to use the bathroom before leaving. Apparently an employee was in it and taking forever. We left and went to a cafe a block away to use the bathroom. I'm from Seattle and miss all the Korean restaurants there, so I go to Seoul Street every time I have a sseodeok craving. I love this place and have liked everything I've tried here, but I have to dock one star because the atmosphere is always really awkward. The menu is pretty wordy and not clearly organized into food/meal combo/beverage/dessert sections so you have to go right up to the register to read it, and the employees always stand right at the register and stare at you while you read the menu which makes me feel really pressured. I usually end up just getting the same thing I've gotten before because I feel pressured to give my order quickly, even when there's nobody else in the restaurant. Maybe it's just a personal problem, but I've never tried their drinks or desserts for this reason. My advice is to take your time looking at the menu online before you go in and then take your food to go. read more

Be so for real. We walked in 16 minutes before closing and the girl at the register proceeded to say that since they are closing soon they won't be able to make everything on the menu. Without further explanation of what they are still able to prepare for the customers DURING open hours. When we asked what they were still able to cook for us the girl did not give direct answers, as if she just didn't want us to order anything. I have worked in food and beverage and understand "closing", but when a restaurant of any kind closes at a certain time the employees should never begin closing until BEFORE the closing time. read more

I was transported beyond Boise's good but typical fare into the deeper authentic experience I had last found in Seattle International District. The whole place could simply be described as "bright," but as a full affect, rather than just literal high light levels (it's bright but natural light mostly). The energy just feels fun and open while maintaining accessibility for those less initiated in Korean street food. FOOD: I love that the menu remains true to the roots of the dishes and doesn't Americanize form (placing on rice or putting it in a cup or taco) or flavors (aside from shaving some scoville off). I also appreciate the menu feels quite clear on what things are. While I've had a decent amount and various takes on Korean food, I definitely couldn't order by name alone and know what I was getting. As for quality and flavor: Outstanding. Not a single bite was lacking crisp where it should be or chewy where chewy should be. As for flavor, undeniably excellent and indelible delectable. SERVICE: Fast, friendly, caring. As a kid, I remember going to friends' houses, whose parents made dishes that transported me to different places with exciting new flavors and foods I had never experienced before. One thing all these experiences had in common was the pride in hospitality and the pride on delivery. It was a moment I got to share in a culture beyond my own and see a glimpse into their world. Recently moved to Boise and back home I'm surrounded by a ton of Asian restaurants. My boyfriend and I stumbled across Seoul Street, the first time I came in I was just looking at the menu but ended up getting a spam misubi. The spam misubi was so delicious, I could eat 20 of them. Today I got the Kimchi Jigae, this made me feel like I was back home. It comes with a side of rice, it had good size pork belly pieces in it and the broth was perfect, perfect amount of spice and tons of kimchi! The sweet couple who owned the place checked in on how my food was, I got to know them a bit and they are very sweet and you can tell care about the food they are making. I love that there is a Photo Booth and the cafe lights add such a cute touch. This will definitely be my go to place. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. What a gem of a place! Not too many Korean restaurants in the area and I have been anticipating the opening of this Cafe. The food is definitely on par with being a blend of Korean street food and a standard lunch. Brought back a ton of memories of Korea. The Cafe is very well designed and it was so cool seeing people getting excited about authentic Korean food and there were BTS fans everywhere while we were eating lol. I understand first hand how hard it is to source Korean products to make alot of this food as I personally make trips to Seattle to pick up ingredients for our family so absolutely huge props to them for keeping it authentic. The staff and owners were so kind to us and I saw them checking in with everyone eating several times. We will definitely be back to enjoy this awesome little Cafe. read more

I'm not related to the owners or anything like that but your speech is pretty hateful and does not help anyone. i was at the restaurant yesterday and Seoul street food was pretty decently priced for the quality food they were serving. I don't know if you understand that the overall margin for restaurant businesses is only one percent. I'm not a restaurant owner, but I'm a business owner in another industry. i'm not sure you know, each price increases, and the food ingredients increased as well. Restaurant owners have a very hard time keeping their prices low. Are you asking them to make no money? Isn't it true that they also have a family to support? If you really want to help people, you need to make reasonable, edifying reviews that benefit both customers and businesses. Although you probably don't want to pay high prices for food, some people are willing to pay decent prices for good food that is ethically made. at least I am! Restaurants are not non-profits, so if you ask for lower prices, where are they getting their raw ingredients from? It might not be fancy Korean food, but it is street food that is made from Korean ingredients. If you aren't familiar with Korean culture please don't make claims like that You can also buy your own cup noodles and eat them at home if you don't like spending 10.99 for a small cup of noodles. There are plenty of other options to enjoy Korean food at home than eating Korean food out. Lovely spot! I've been twice now on weekends and both times they were relatively fast, and the staff is very friendly. The fried chicken is spot on. Nice, light and crispy texture, perfectly cooked. The sauce is not nearly as spicy as I was expecting, but it still has a nice hot and tangy flavor with just a hint of sweet. Highly recommend. The bulgogi came in a generous portion and also had a great flavor and texture, the rice was perfectly cooked. The milk tea is not overly sweet, which I like. The name is great. But this is not what I (Korean) expected as a real Seoul Street Food. The food will be good for those just testing the waters for how spicy the food is. It's not even remotely spicy. I give this place a spicy level of Zero. The service is great. One huge suggestion to the owners, teach your employees that Odeng is a clear broth with fish cake that accompanies Ttockboekki, it's not in the Ttockboekki. The server said the Odeng was in it. WRONG. We were the only ones in there, until a bit later when a guy, a couple and some young ladies came in all separately of course. So I counted less than 10 people that came in after us. We were there and it was empty until we showed up. The Photo Booth was a bit much at $10.00 a pop. We passed on that. Ambiance is street furniture indoors. All together, this place gets a 2 star rating from me. Never lie to a Korean. Just because I don't look it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. If this place is owned by Koreans, shame on you! Teach your servers the correct way to describe what your cafe is serving. In Korea, Ttockboekki (no matter the weather) is served with Odeng soup. The two go together like PBJ in the US. Let the customer decide if they want Odeng Soup, not the weather. SMH. Honesty is always the best policy. Snickering employees, checking to see if I had a problem with the EXTRA Spicy chicken that I ordered and ate there was not cool. It was not spicy! Nothing was spicy. So please take Seoul out of the name. People go in once and never again, like us.
