Love their cupcakes! I purchased a Groupon order for $12, for a dozen cupcakes, and placed my order via email 2 weeks later. I ordered strawberry, red velvet, and chocolate flavors, and they sent me an email the next day saying they could deliver a week from the email. They did deliver on that day, however they were 2 hours late...but the lady who delivered it told me she got lost. It was fine because it was 9pm when they delivered. The cupcakes are GOOD! So, wanna hear a horror story boys and girls? I'm glad you do... I got a Groupon for 2 dozen cupcakes. I ordered 6 of each red velvet, vanilla, strawberry, and pineapple. I gave them 3 choices of delivery dates that would be acceptable to me. They picked Jan. 17th. They emailed me that morning to let me know that they were out of one flavor, and would deliver my cupcakes on Jan. 24th. That's today, so let the games begin... My delivery window was between 11am and 3pm. I was still waiting for my cupcakes at 3:15pm with no email or phone call from them. I emailed and was told that the driver was 7 miles away. Okay, 7 miles is gonna take what? Maybe 15 minutes. Well, 25 minutes later guess what? Still no cupcakes. I emailed again and was told that the driver would be at my location in 15 minutes. 15 minutes came and went, and I think you can guess where this is going...no cupcakes. I emailed and was told that my cupcakes would be delivered to another location since I had to leave my job (my 1st location). Okay, I thought. Silly, silly me. I was told that my cupcakes would be delivered to my house ASAP. Well...if ASAP meant after 9pm, then bang up job Cupcake Heaven! Seriously dude, when the delivery came, not only did they totally screw my order and only give me 2 flavors, but these cupcakes look like they came straight from a supermarket. Got Groupon, - Placed an order for 3 dozens on 11/30. - Confirmed on 12/2. - Sent an e mail requesting change of delivery date on 12/7, no reply. - Sent another e mail after getting an e mail from Groupon regarding the company on 12/16. - Finally confirmed new delivery date on 12/19, and was asked to send the details of the order again (maybe lost or deleted?) - Delivery scheduled for "between 10am and 3 pm". The cupcakes were delivered at 7:25pm and the reply I got via e mail was " WHAT!!!!!!!! Oh that's it! That's Unacceptable!!!!!! I will be dealing with this with the driver!!!!" The original order was placed almost a month in advance. As other reviewers have said, you can't speak to anyone on the phone, as there is only an option to leave messages, then the mail box was "full". I ordered these for the store staff I work with to thank them for working so hard through the Holiday season. Unfortunately nobody got to enjoy them. Will be requesting refunds through Groupon...... I bought a Groupon deal for a dozen cupcakes (for $12!!) to be delivered from Cupcake Heaven NY and was excited to find out that we could mix and match any 3 flavor combos. After browsing their website, Gabriel and I placed an order for: 1. red velvet cake. vanilla icing. peanut butter cups on top.2. rich chocolate cake. whipped cream filling. marshmallow icing.hershey bar topping.3. classic white cake. chocolate pudding filling. chocolate icing.oreos topping. The order arrived for us a few days later in cute little boxes, but we were bummed to find out that the combos were incorrect, and included some flavors that we really strongly dislike and wouldn't eat. At that point, I emailed the company to point out this disappointment and was told that our order would be corrected and re-delivered at our convenience. Happy to accept that mistakes are made, and a solution was offered, I placed the new order for a couple of weeks later. Well, the order arrived today and I must say that I am VERY pleased. Everything we wanted was exactly correct, and the cupcakes were totally delicious. The cake was moist and fresh- I'm guessing they came out of the oven just an hour or 2 before they arrived at my door. I read the reviews on Yelp and see that a lot of people are unhappy with this company. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. They are clearly new and working out some kinks. Agree with below poster. Awful experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a nightmare. Six times I tried to have a delivery and Cupcake "Heaven" cancelled last minute, which is really convenient if trying to plan a function. These were CONFIRMED delivery plans with up to 6 weeks notice!! Last time, with a delivery window of 11-3, they attempted to deliver 4 hours LATE when business was closed. Complete lack of ANY customer service, no response to phone calls, and my last email questioning why so late, the response was downright offensive. Please see my note to Groupon: "Dear Groupon, When I had purchased this Groupon deal over two weeks ago, I made sure that this company would be able to deliver 36 cupcakes for a baby shower event (12/10/12) by calling them and e-mailing them. They proudly said yes (via e-mail) as long as they had advance notice. I sent them an e-mail the day after I purchased the Groupon deal with my requests, and it took 3 e-mails to get a "confirm" receipt. Also, you never get to talk to a live person. All phone calls went straight to voicemail with a request to send e-mails because they respond "faster" to those. Fast forward to the past few days (12/8/12-12/9/12.) I e-mailed them a reminder for the delivery of the cupcakes only to get an automatic response saying they weren't taking any further deliveries until next week. Realizing that I might not get ANY response from e-mail or phone, I looked online and found these Yelp reviews. Lo and behold, they surely confirmed those reviews and ruined the baby shower event (delivery was for 9am) by sending me an e-mail at 2:11am on the DAY of the event when I'm obviously not even awake to check it, and then proceed to let me know that THEY needed to change my delivery time from 9am to 10:30am b/c they didn't "realize" their driver doesn't leave the facility until 8:30am. Um...how long have they been in business? Do they expect me to believe that they don't KNOW when the driver leaves the facility when they are a cupcake DELIVERING company? Also, if I'm ordering 36 cupcakes, it's obviously for an event. What makes them think that I have the time to sit there and wait an hour and a half for THEM when everything else has already been set for the event?! To top it off, I received an e-mail at 8:48am (I checked this one before the 2:11am one when I woke up since it was most recent), telling me there was an "emergency closing." If they were really serious about their business or the closing and they KNEW they had deliveries that day, wouldn't it make sense to CALL your customers vs. e-mailing them?! So, in conclusion, I DEFINITELY would like for Groupon to refund my purchase of the cupcakes. I understand that this is not Groupon's fault for this unreliable and unresponsive company, but by sending this e-mail, I wanted to make you aware of all the horror stories Groupon customers had to go through with Cupcake Heaven (as proven by Yelp reviews - I'm posting my review very soon, too!). With a company as big as Groupon, vendors should know to expect a lot of demands/purchases once they are on Groupon. I cannot express my dissatisfaction in this company beyond the email that I wrote to the owner on Christmas Eve (which I have included, in part, below). Though she did respond to it stating that she would be sure to deliver my order on Christmas Day, I opted to contact Groupon for a refund instead (wonderful customer service there). My order was confirmed on 12/5/11. She had plenty of time to contact me and inform me of any possible glitches with delivery, or her being overwhelmed with orders. While I understand being overwhelmed, it is unreasonable to remain waiting for a delivery which was never received despite assurances that the cupcakes were on the way for over three days. I wish I had looked at the Yelp reviews before the entire ordeal took place. I will definitely know better for next time. "As it is now 9:30pm two days after my cupcakes were supposed to be delivered, I can see that your Company will not be fulfilling its end of the bargain. Despite your assurances that my cupcakes were going to be delivered first on time, and then one day late, and then two days late after your driver had finished taking his...rest in Brooklyn, I can see that Customer Service and Satisfaction are not high priorities for you or your Company. I once again put of all my days' plans on complete hold...based upon the "promise" (I use the term loosely as I am now sure that you have no clue what the word means) that my order would be fulfilled. Because that is the fair thing to do. You were negligent, and so you will make this default right. I am not sure how you are used to handling your business, though based on recent reviews that I have come across, I think the answer is 'not very well'. I was gifted a Groupon for one dozen cupcakes, $12 for a $24 value. I e-mailed Cupcake Heaven to place my order, but received no replies even two weeks later so I tried to call them, but was only directed to voicemail. I sent them another e-mail, but again received no response. It wasn't until my third try a month later that I finally got a reply and confirmation of delivery date/time. I ordered 10 red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and 2 chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Thankfully, they were delivered right on time and the owner even called me ahead of time to tell me that they were on their way. While the chocolate cupcakes were a tad too sweet for me, the red velvet ones were delicious. The cupcakes were soft and moist, and I could tell they were freshly made. I would give a 5-star rating, but took off a star for poor communication. I did notice that they later posted a delivery schedule on their website with the available delivery dates/times for each borough, so my guess is that they were initially overwhelmed and not prepared to handle such a high volume of Groupon orders. Luckily the cupcakes were not for an event, but if you are planning to order some for an event I would recommend contacting them as soon as possible to make sure that everything goes smoothly. Cupcake Heaven has written a comment on my review which has surprised me, saying that I never expressed what I wrote in my review to them via emails: While I was generally polite in my emails and to the delivery woman, I was not happy. Here is one of my emails: Feb 15, 2012, 6:12PM: Yeah...he [delivery person...I found out later it was a she] is not here once again and I have to leave. I shouldn't have to call him. These cupcakes are officially two-days late! I think I've been very patient but this is completely ridiculous... You guys are obviously taking on more orders than you can handle and deliver, and making empty promises." I think that is pretty consistent with my review. The rest of my emails are literally, "hey, where are my cupcakes?!" So I guess all this proves something else. I am very dissatisfied with this business and would never use / recommend it to anyone. I bought a 2 dozen order from Groupon which was a good deal. After an annoying ordering process, I received my order 45 min ago for my child's school bday celebration. There were supposed to be cardboard cutouts (per their website) to secure the cupcakes. Since there wasn't, the cupcakes are squished together, the frosting looks slopped on as if a child did it, and the strawberry slices slid off and are brown - very unappetizing. This company is very unorganized; unreliable; and dishonest. I had gotten a groupon for 3 dozen cupcakes and I placed my order a week prior for delivery in south Yonkers. The order was for my husband's 40th. birthday party and I thought it would work out perfectly to get cupcakes delivered because the bakery I was going to buy him a cake from had gone out of business. Two days after placing the order, I received a phone call from them asking if I wanted to place my order. I told them I had already placed it, and the person said oh, then they were just calling to reconfirm. The night before the party, I received an e-mail from the person who had taken my order asking me if I had placed my order yet, and saying that orders needed to be placed by e-mail. I sent her an e-mail back saying I had placed my order a week ago by phone with her, and if they weren't going to be able to process it, to please call me in the morning and leave me a voicemail so I could by a cake somewhere. I kept checking my e-mail in the morning and there was no response. I also tried calling their number multiple times, but the voicemail box was always full. At about 4 p.m. I saw that Tanya had e-mailed me back with some B.S. story that the van with my order had been hit and that to make up for it they were going to give me 4-dozen cupcakes--but they still didn't tell me when I was going to get the cupcakes. I got this story after I had talked to one of their drivers who had tried calling me earlier that week and that I happened to call back for the second time that day to see where my order was. She didn't mention anything about the other van getting hit--she just said she was doing the deliveries in Manhattan and not in Yonkers so I needed to e-mail Tanya again to find out what happened to my order. To make a long story short--I had to do a mad scramble for a cake at the last minute on my husband's 40th. birthday, with guests at the house, when I had given Cupcake Heaven plenty of opportunity to tell me that they had messed up and lost my order and to go ahead and get a cake early in the day. I had to call groupon and cancel my order during my husband's birthday party. I bought a Groupon deal too for 2 dozen cupcakes. I honestly did not have a problem with customer service. They did come a bit late (one hour) but I did not need them at a particular time so that did not really bother me. But, the cupcakes on the other hand was really bad. Honestly, it tasted like one of those supermarket cupcakes where the cake was dry and the icing was really sweet, exactly like the ones at chain supermarkets like waldbaums or pathmark. It came to a point where I actually suspected them of purchasing supermarket cupcakes and just selling them as if it was their own. I also suspected this because they had my order incorrect where my filling was missing. However, when I mentioned their mistake, they asked if I wanted another dozen. It seems that CupcakeHeavenNY posted this Groupon hoping it would promote their small company and bring new clients -- the irony, of course, is that it only brought attention to how unorganized and unprepared they are. I got a groupon for this company and all I can say is that I was disapointed and wish I came on here and read the reviews before I placed the order! Even though I did receive my cupcakes (they were late) and they weren't what I ordered (I asked for Christmas sprinkles, instead I got rainbow sprinkles) but the customer service and presentation has a lot to be desired. first of all, they came in a inside out bakery box, mind you, the bakery was a different bakery! the groupon stated they are full size cupcakes (they were mini cupcakes). the frosting was pitiful and the sprinkles were not what I ordered. I understand that there is traffic on Christmas Eve, but when I emailed the company to tell them my dissatisfaction, I never got a reply. The response was she ran out of boxes, so she used relative's boxes from his bakery. You could have told me this BEFORE I opened the box in front of my company and my new inlaws. When I inquired, I was told they had no record of my order (which I forwarded, along with follow-up email traffic). While I was apologized to, it was too little too late. I wish I could have posted a rave review for this business, but I cannot recommend a company that failed to deliver... and it's clear my experience was not unique, which makes it even worse. I emailed them placing my order and the person who replied seemed quite rude, not really answering my questions and typing 'lol' after each sentence. seemed more like a teenager than anything else. anyway, after about 10 emails (TEN) i finally arranged an arrival date. I was told it would arrive around 3-5pm and I waited till 7pm to finally have them delivered. I was planning to go shopping but I guess my plans changed. The only reason why they get 3 stars is because the cupcakes themselves are DELICIOUS. i ordered the vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting and nuts sprinkled over. They tasted absolutely amazing, so moist and fresh. I'd say go for it if there's something you know you want catered (but be prepared for delays) since the cake itself is fantastic. But honestly, I'd just go to crumbs or one of the other thousand cupcakeries around the place. The groupon was worth it though. read more

So where do I start. I should copy and paste everyone's negative comments because I experienced the same. I understand that yes, they may have been overwhelmed with orders but either you hire more personnel or YOU STOP TAKING ORDERS!!! I also purchased the Groupon for 3 doz cupcakes with free delivery. First, I could never get through to a live person on the phone. I would leave a message when the mailbox wasn't full to place an order. Then I filled out their own request form on their website. Then I finally emailed them the order. After 2 days (which is long for a business to get back to you) and me following up on the email, Tanya Perez decides to email me back. We agree upon a date for delivery which was the following week. The date came and went and there was no delivery. I had to email Tanya back to inquire what happened. She said she put the delivery on her calendar wrong. Fine people make mistakes. So we rescheduled it for 2 days later where she said she would PERSONALLY deliver it at 12pm. Guess what? 12pm came and went. When I emailed her back to see if it was going to be delivered at all, she emailed that it would be delivered at 7pm. The place where I was getting it delivered to was a place of business and closed at 5pm. I emailed her this and she came up with some story that the delivery truck was en route and she mixed me up with someone else. I emailed her what approximate time does she expect the truck to arrive. She never responded. It got to a point where I was bending over backwards for a company who was supposed to provide ME with a product I purchased. I finally got fed up and cancelled the order. Groupon was great. They refunded me the money. I will never recommend them to anyone because if their customer service is this bad, their cupcakes cant be far behind. read more

It is amazing how ridiculous this company can be. I also did the groupon purchase and placed an email order for 3 dozen cupcakes to be delivered on 12/23 about a month ago. I requested it to be delivered anytime between 10:30 and 6:00 the same time as their delivery schedule.I confirmed with them the day I placed the order and received an email from them that the order was set. Today (the 23rd) I emailed them this morning and was told they would arrive before 6:00 as promised. At 6:00 no cupcakes so I contacted them and was told they were on the way. 8 o'clock and I am still waiting for these cupcakes to arrive at my office. These were supposed to be for my staff and they have all left already. I find it absolutely inappropriate and inconsiderate that despite multiple assurances that these cupcakes will be here at 6:00, that they did not arrive. If they had no intention of fulfilling this order, then at least be an adult and honest and say so instead of having me wait. Why lie and say its on the way? What does that accomplish?? I can't imagine a company so rude and callous to have a client wait for NOTHING on Christmas weekend... read more

Had a groupon for two dozen cupcakes. Of course when I bought the group on a month ago the company website had pictures of beautiful looking cupcakes all over the website. When I go to order a month later there is now a groupon link on their website that tells you that you can only get a choice of four flavors with "sprinkles"on them. Totally misleading as the pictures shown during the groupon sale were of big professional cupcakes with all sorts of candy toppings, fruits, etc....so I really have no choice and I place my order. They arrive in a used old box that is pieced together and ripped with a handwritten note saying they had just run out of boxes. After a half hour trying to open the box with a pound of tape around it there are 24 little I mean little cupcakes inside. They are not uniform at all and are all different sizes. They have cheap cupcake liners and are a little bigger than bite size but not much. One of the cupcakes doesn't even have frosting on it and was left plain. I was going to serve these for my sons birthday party but can't they are so ugly and cheap looking. I could make better cupcakes. While they taste okay and just okay these cupcakes are not professional and I will be complaining to Groupon and trying to get my money back. Buyer beware for sure! read more

Like many others, I bought the Groupon for this business because it was a good deal and the photos on their Web site looked nice. Plus, delivery was free -- why not? After I bought my Groupon, but before I placed my order, the company changed its Manhattan delivery schedule to Mondays only -- annoying, as my husband's birthday is on a Saturday this year, and I had planned to have the cupcakes sent to his office the day before. Also, instead of being able to choose any flavor cake, filling, candy topping, etc., Groupon customers were limited to three cake flavors, three icing flavors, and sprinkles or no sprinkles on top. I placed my order a month before I needed it (I decided to send to my husband for Valentine's Day). Pros: It was delivered when promised, and set up as requested, with the specified assortment of cake flavors and icings. Cons: The clear plastic box looked a bit cheap and was sticky on the bottom (frosting?). It was tied with curling ribbon (again, looked cheap) and the print-out of my order was attached -- glad they did that so that the order got to the right place, but the paper reeked of cigarette smoke (from the delivery person's car?), and had I been sending these to anyone other than my husband (ie, a friend or client), I would have been really steamed because the order e-mail specified that I used a Groupon. The cupcakes were just OK -- they tasted like anything I could have baked from a box, and the frosting looked like stuff you would get at the store in a tub, even though it was piped with a decorative tip. I don't regret buying the Groupon, but these cupcakes do not compare to places like Butter Lane (which also appears on Groupon occasionally), Crumbs or Magnolia Bakery. Cupcake Heaven??? Ha, what a joke..More like Cupcake HELL!!!!! My mother in-law purchased 2 dozen cupcakes with the Groupon special for a special birthday party. She ordered way in advance and needed them delivered on Feb 25, 2012. She received confirmation from Cupcake Heaven stating that the order was confirmed and that the 2 dozen cupcakes would be delivered on Sat, Feb 25, 2012 between 11am and 1pm..WELL..lets just say the cupcakes NEVER arrived!!! She called them MULTIPLE times where there was an automated response saying that no more orders would be taken until March 5th because they were overwhelmed with orders from Groupon. Nobody live picks up (HOW CONVENIENT!!!). So, on Monday, Feb 27, she called them to see why the cupcakes were never delivered. They said that one of their bakers got sick and were overwhelmed with orders. She then told them that they should have called her to let her know that she would never get her cupcakes. They gave her a hard time on the phone after asking for a refund and when she told them that she was going to post negative reviews of their company, they simply said "go ahead." So, me, as a wonderful daughter-in-law, decided to take the initiative and post the negative reviews of Cupcake Heaven for her. I am just shocked that Groupon would do business with such an incompetent bunch of individuals that run, what they call a "business". Please do not buy any Groupon deals or any direct orders with this company. You will be sorry in the end. read more
