I REALLy shouldn't be doing this, but I must. Other bakeries are gonna be mad at me, but it is what it is. I am not a lover of Red Velvet cake. Until I had a piece (then more) of a cake from FLEETWOOD Bakery at our church. Lord have Mercy! I have the right to remain silent but I won't. That cake sanctified me! So, just to be safe, I went back and ordered other desserts - Napoleons, Cannolis, cookies - Same verdict! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Worth the trip and worth the money! (mid ranged price ) Just to let you know: on my last visit, it looked like the UNITED NATIONS in there: All walks of life leaving with a smile! This is a down home, small intimate bakery with a huge kitchen in the back. No fancy ambiance, just lovely foods stacked up and a place to do custom ordering.... Just the way a community bakery should look like. read more

Fleetwood Bakery is a quality bakery that has a wide variety of baked goods to suit your taste buds! With so many cases with bright lighting it was so hard to choose! This review is for their jelly donuts and black & whites only. Jelly donuts very, very good, BUT not quite like Delite Bakery in Yonkers. For starters, Delite's jelly donuts are totally impregnated w raspberry jelly. Fleetwood not as much. Also, Delite offers powdered and cinnamon sugar. Fleetwood only powdered. The B & W's very close. I rate them a tie. At some point, have to try other products from Fleetwood. For now, Delite is a crumb above. Fleetwood gets 4 stars read more

I've been going to Fleetwood Bakery for years, and they've never disappointed. When it came time for my wedding, there was no question where we were getting our cake. The cake was absolutely amazing--beautifully done and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. A special thank you to Enzo for making everything happen, especially on such short notice. CONSISTENT!!!!! We've been coming here for over 20 years. Angelo/Josephine/whoever - these people have a stellar establishment. The cookies, the pastries, the cannoli's are tremendous, BUT the Lobster Tails are first of all enormous, second of all stuffed with cream while you wait, and third of all are the absolute best Italian Pastries in this entire country. This is the go to Mount Vernon Italian bakery. The family runs the establishment and are lovely folks. Great Italian pastries and cookies. I've also had the cheesecake, the chocolate cake with canoli cream which was particularly delicious and red velvet and carrot. They also have ices in the summertime. read more

Went there for a To Good to Go pickup and I ended up getting some extra treats - Everything looked great. Staff were super nice. Their Nutella donut was good and full of Nutella filling. Their Dubai chocolate was also pretty yummy. Not sure how authentic it is though. The filling looked different than the online videos. I also got some lemon drop cookies that I still need to try. Would definitely go back to try some other treats. read more

Forgot about this bakery when I moved from Bronx River Road in the 1970s. We would go there for the pastries and birthday cakes. As I recall, we were always very satisfied. For my birthday, my daughter ordered a strawberry shortcake for me. Sorry no picture but it was beautifully decorated with 4 large strawberries on top. In between the layers were cut up strawberries and real whipped cream. The entire cake was engulfed with real whipped cream. You know what I'm talking about when the cake is covered in make believe cream. At the end of the night, my daughter boxed up the remaining half of the cake and Itook it home. Walked in with our son, 7 years young 3 days after Christmas. Place was not busy. The friendly young women behind the counter gave our son a free Santa cookie as well as a tin foiled wrapped snowman. Very nice freebies for the cub ( Marco). I ordered a raspberry filled butter type cookie, that was fresh & delicious. I then proceeded to order, cause I couldn't control my sugar seeking satisfactions, a decent slice of cheesecake topped with 3 bright shiny strawberry halves. It was highly satisfying! And I ordered three sfogliatelle, and finally a chocolate covered pretzel for Our son Marco. The sfogliatelle was on the money ! I gifted the other two to my parents. All this came to 29$ I wouldn't say expensive but not on the cost efficient side, but somewhere in the middle. Their biz card boasts about having the tastiest lobster claws. This is my go-to bakery for my office events. The vanilla/vanilla cakes are always fresh and delicious, and the strawberry short cake is always fresh and stuffed with cream & fresh berries. A huge array of pastries to choose from danishes, cookies,cupcakes etc & delicious, fresh, hot coffee always ready. Staff is always pleasant & helpful. Fleetwood Bakery Shop made our dream wedding cake come true! As a preferred vendor for our venue, they made it a smooth an easy process to order our desired cake within budget. Enzo and Mena were absolutly wonderful to speak with over the phone as they described our size and style options. We went to visit and tasted several frostings and flavors. We ultimately decided on a vanilla cake with Chantilly cream and strawberry filling, which was sweet, creamy, and light. Our guests raved about the cake's flavor and many asked for second slices, not often for wedding cakes! Enzo and team easily partnered with our florist to put the final decor on the cake, and make our vision a reality. Delivery was fully coordinated with the venue and so after final payment, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Oh man... it was a Sunday and I was craving perfectly sweetened, fluffy, traditional Italian treats that remind of me of my hometown of Staten Island and this place knocked it outta the park! Loved the Napoleon the most. Not too sweet and the upper frosting and the crust was so fresh and delicious. The Bavarian cream in the lobster tail is also divine. This is an Italian bakery. The cookies are amazing. I went to Italy once and there was a bakery downstairs from my hotel that looked exactly like this one. The desserts were the same as well. We ordered the cake kinda late 3 days before the event but they came through for my 50th birthday. Tastes amazing (strawberry shortcake). You know when a birthday cake tastes good when there's no left overs on their plates, even when we have a dessert platter served. Honestly...if I could give this shop zero stars I would. If someone comes into your shop and needs/wants to discuss a cake and cookie order for a very special occasion you never ever get arrogant or nasty with them...especially if they chose your shop and bring business to them. And that's exactly what the older lady with the glasses (who I believe is the owner) did to me! She was very disrespectful and was nasty and if she's not the owner...she shouldn't be there working! The place itself is a typical pastry shop...and has a nice enough appearance inside. I don't care how good they say their cakes or pastries are...her attitude was no good and that's no way to treat anyone. I wanted to discuss pricing, cake options and cookie trays. Perhaps she was having a bad day or has issues...or maybe was not in the mood?? The heck with this place, I won't go back, there are many other bakeries and better people to deal with. The cannoli, Sfogliatelle, eclairs & other assorted Italian pastries we purchased for Thanksgiving were to die for - so fresh, tasty, flaky & delicious. We will definitely be back soon! A really good bakery in Mount Vernon/ Fleetwood that has it all from cakes , pies , desserts , pastries, cookies , cupcakes and on and on with the sweets . I was in a semi rush so I was able to grab some cupcakes , 2 pounds of mixed cookies , and a Boston creme pie .wish I had more time as the display of sweets were too much to handle for my waist but you got to enjoy at least one or twice a month ..loved the pie as it was fresh and one cupcake and one cookie was my allotted limit for the month , glad the month is almost over as the eclairs and cannolis need to see me soon . I called last minute and they had a cake in stock that I could grab for my wife's birthday. It was delicious. The staff was lovely. They said the frosting was buttercream. It didn't taste like butter. It tasted like vegetable shortening. I guess "buttercream" is now more of a generic term? But the cake itself was delicious and so was the frosting. We ate it for days. I would 100/10 recommend this place to anyone and everyone anywhere. I absolutely L O V E Fleetwood bakery. There is never going to be a debate on it. I've ordered major milestone cakes to small little pick up snacks. Their cakes, filling, cannolis, lobster tails (giant pastry) are just unbelievably divine. Established in 1996.

My mom is a widow of 31 years and has 3 kids. At the time of purchase her kids were 19, 18 and 16 years old. She purchased the business without having any knowledge of running a business. This was my moms first step on owning a business ,she came from Italy when she was in her teens ,born in Italy but raised here in America in Mount Vernon.She just took the step to open up a business for her kids and it's been 21 years since .We are still going strong and continuing everyday to stay opened for the next 50 or more years . Thanks to my mom she is truly our rock and we look up to her everyday ,she is our role model .Without her nothing would have been possible and she makes sure that her customers are satisfied until they eat our delicious fresh morning danishes to our Italian-American desserts and etc....

The blue velvet cupcake was just OK, in my opinion. The cake was soft with a nice buttercream frosting, but nothing that blew me away or stood out to me as THE best I've ever had. I did not end up eating the vanilla cupcake due to an unrelated illness later that weekend. Nonetheless, it was nice to finally try this establishment out. In terms of service, the woman who helped me was super sweet and kind. She also thanked me and wished me well upon leaving. The store itself appeared clean and organized and I really liked the variety of offerings. Some of my favorite childhood candies were readily available and overall pricing was fair. I'd return in the future for their candy selections but I don't think it would be my go-to for baked goods. Highly recommended otherwise!

My husband and I received our wedding cake through Fleetwood Bakery and it came out fantastic. When I went for the tasting, they were so helpful and let us try a few different flavors and when we ended up enjoying three different flavors, she told us that they would be able to use a different filling in each tier of the cake. Our top layer was a chocolate mousse filling, the second layer was cannoli filling, and the bottom two layers were Bavarian cream filling with strawberries. We also decided that we did not want a fondant cake and instead the bakery was able to do a buttercream frosting type of cake with incredible silver accents all around. We were so happy with the service, the cake, and the fillings and our guests told us that it was one of the best cakes ever. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM FLEETWOOD BAKERY IN MOUNT VERNON NY!! I ordered a vanilla cake with vanilla icing, when I cut into it realized it had a tiny strip of "cake" and essentially fondant and icing. I called and spoke with the manger who was extremely rude and spoke over me the entire time, her exact words were" it is a sponge not a cake, next time ask for a little more cake then icing" I paid $72.80 for a grad/birthday cake that could not be eaten. I have gone to Fleetwood for my wedding cake, my daughter's christening cake, and her 1st birthday cake, as well as any other cakes/pastries I ever need... and will be going back for my daughter's 2nd birthday cake.
