Until I had a piece (then more) of a cake from FLEETWOOD Bakery at our church. Lord have Mercy! I have the right to remain silent but I won't. That cake sanctified me! So, just to be safe, I went back and ordered other desserts - Napoleons, Cannolis, cookies - Same verdict! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Worth the trip and worth the money! (mid ranged price ) Just to let you know: on my last visit, it looked like the UNITED NATIONS in there: All walks of life leaving with a smile! This review is for their jelly donuts and black & whites only. Jelly donuts very, very good, BUT not quite like Delite Bakery in Yonkers. For starters, Delite's jelly donuts are totally impregnated w raspberry jelly. Fleetwood not as much. Also, Delite offers powdered and cinnamon sugar. Fleetwood only powdered. The B & W's very close. I rate them a tie. At some point, have to try other products from Fleetwood. For now, Delite is a crumb above. Fleetwood gets 4 stars read more

CONSISTENT!!!!! We've been coming here for over 20 years. Angelo/Josephine/whoever - these people have a stellar establishment. The cookies, the pastries, the cannoli's are tremendous, BUT the Lobster Tails are first of all enormous, second of all stuffed with cream while you wait, and third of all are the absolute best Italian Pastries in this entire country. This is the go to Mount Vernon Italian bakery. The family runs the establishment and are lovely folks. Great Italian pastries and cookies. I've also had the cheesecake, the chocolate cake with canoli cream which was particularly delicious and red velvet and carrot. They also have ices in the summertime. read more

Went there for a To Good to Go pickup and I ended up getting some extra treats - Everything looked great. Staff were super nice. Their Nutella donut was good and full of Nutella filling. Their Dubai chocolate was also pretty yummy. Not sure how authentic it is though. The filling looked different than the online videos. I also got some lemon drop cookies that I still need to try. Forgot about this bakery when I moved from Bronx River Road in the 1970s. We would go there for the pastries and birthday cakes. As I recall, we were always very satisfied. For my birthday, my daughter ordered a strawberry shortcake for me. Sorry no picture but it was beautifully decorated with 4 large strawberries on top. In between the layers were cut up strawberries and real whipped cream. The entire cake was engulfed with real whipped cream. You know what I'm talking about when the cake is covered in make believe cream. At the end of the night, my daughter boxed up the remaining half of the cake and Itook it home. Walked in with our son, 7 years young 3 days after Christmas. Place was not busy. The friendly young women behind the counter gave our son a free Santa cookie as well as a tin foiled wrapped snowman. Very nice freebies for the cub ( Marco). I ordered a raspberry filled butter type cookie, that was fresh & delicious. I then proceeded to order, cause I couldn't control my sugar seeking satisfactions, a decent slice of cheesecake topped with 3 bright shiny strawberry halves. It was highly satisfying! And I ordered three sfogliatelle, and finally a chocolate covered pretzel for Our son Marco. The sfogliatelle was on the money ! I gifted the other two to my parents. All this came to 29$ I wouldn't say expensive but not on the cost efficient side, but somewhere in the middle. Their biz card boasts about having the tastiest lobster claws. Fleetwood Bakery Shop made our dream wedding cake come true! As a preferred vendor for our venue, they made it a smooth an easy process to order our desired cake within budget. Enzo and Mena were absolutly wonderful to speak with over the phone as they described our size and style options. We went to visit and tasted several frostings and flavors. We ultimately decided on a vanilla cake with Chantilly cream and strawberry filling, which was sweet, creamy, and light. Our guests raved about the cake's flavor and many asked for second slices, not often for wedding cakes! Enzo and team easily partnered with our florist to put the final decor on the cake, and make our vision a reality. I was in a semi rush so I was able to grab some cupcakes , 2 pounds of mixed cookies , and a Boston creme pie .wish I had more time as the display of sweets were too much to handle for my waist but you got to enjoy at least one or twice a month ..loved the pie as it was fresh and one cupcake and one cookie was my allotted limit for the month , glad the month is almost over as the eclairs and cannolis need to see me soon . I called last minute and they had a cake in stock that I could grab for my wife's birthday. It was delicious. The staff was lovely. They said the frosting was buttercream. It didn't taste like butter. It tasted like vegetable shortening. I guess "buttercream" is now more of a generic term? But the cake itself was delicious and so was the frosting. We ate it for days.
