These are by far the best cupcakes I've had. I had tried their carrot cupcake topped with coconut flakes, the chocolate/brownie, the red velvet, and the vanilla with bits of Sneakers on top. After reading some of the negative reviews I have to defend this place as it's my families favorite. We almost always buy the cakes which are baked at their Nanuet location and shipped to their other locations. Their cakes are amazing!!! So good that every time we go to someone's house or celebrate a birthday, we get these cakes! As for the mixed reviews for their cupcakes, I get it. Sometimes they are great and sometimes it seems like they sat for a couple days. If you want the full experience of these amazing cakes, order them and demand that they are fresh! read more

The cupcakes were way too sweet. Even our kids said they couldn't eat them because the frosting was too sweet.

Some of the cupcakes we got were frozen in the center and some did not taste fresh, but that was like late in the day. Maybe I will try it out earlier in the day to see how they actually taste. read more

Beautiful little gems that are also tasty. Tried the hostess lookalike it was delish, also the carrot cake and it was awesome. Saw this cupcake shop while driving through Englewood yesterday. It was a cute little shop and looked like a private establishment. I ordered the a red velvet flavor and a strawberry cheesecake flavor. Both were absolutely delicious. The cake portion was moist and fluffy and the cream part were heavenly, not too sweet or heavy, just perfect. Prices were also very reasonable. My first experience with Cupcakes at Carousel was a gift from a coworker who sent us some over the holidays. To say they were delicious is to not doing them justice. They were large, soft, flakey, and ample frosting - the works!! So of course I raved about them to my husband (who has a HUGE sweet tooth) and he wanted to try them. So I found this location which was not far from my house and I was very excited to bring him there to experience these delicious cupcakes and yesterday was the day!!! Here it was his birthday and I wanted him to choose whatever he wanted. I checked out the website so I knew they had a large variety. I was so excited as I said before he loves sweets. So he chose chocolate raspberry and tiramisu and I chose the red velvet which happened to be the ones I had tried before. So we sit down with some coffee and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And then we went to dig in. The disappointment was immediate. These cupcakes tasted as if they were made days ago! These cupcakes were definitely trucked in as they were a bit hard and stale. For $2.95 a cupcake you would expect them to be bakery fresh. The sad part of it all is that the flavor was there, they must have been delicious whenever they were made. I ordered a cake for my son's first birthday party. When we came to pick it up they didn't have it, and claimed they couldn't find record of it (I showed them that they had charged my credit card two weeks prior.) They said they couldn't write on cakes in this location, and we'd have to drive to the Rockland main bakery if we wanted it to say Happy Birthday. YES! I went back to Cupcakes by Carousel and got the Curious George. I was absolutely blown away. This really makes up for the bad experience I had with the banana split cupcake. It was similar to the banana split cupcake - vanilla cupcake and banana custard but the ganache and peanut butter made it 10x better. I can't stop thinking about it! read more
