Banana choc chip vegan cake with vanilla frosting
    Sarah T.

I ordered a vegan birthday cake for me and my roommate's birthday (we share the same bday!) and wanted everyone to feel included at our party (I have a few vegan friends). I myself am not vegan so was hesitant about the cake but tried red velvet cupcake samples at the Englewood location and they were good-- couldn't even tell they were vegan (which works well for me because I don't eat dairy anymore). If you want a vegan cake that's delicious, this is the place to get it from. The downside is the cakes were pretty pricey with all of the options we added on like the banana choc chip flavor, candles, etc, but I'm glad I experimented and got the flavor I wanted. The ordering process was pretty straightforward- my only complaint is that the person who sent me the invoice didn't explain why there was an extra 7$ added, but I was grateful they picked up my order. Also, they were very accommodating to turn the vanilla frosting burgundy as I requested! I do wish that they added more glitter to the top though and all over the cake (like I asked for). It's not an extravagant looking cake but it got the job done and pretty decadent for a vegan cake. I added the fresh cherries. Also I picked up the cake Friday and it's Tuesday now and the cake is becoming a little dry. But I'm assuming that's expected as fresh cakes don't last long in the fridge. I also got 4 gluten free cupcakes and even though I'm not a fan of the consistency (it was chewy almost like corn tasting), my friend that was GF appreciated them!

I was very excited to try this place out. Since I have an allergy to dairy and a huge sweet tooth, vegan bakeries are always enticing for me to go to so I HAD to see what was up. The chocolate cupcake had a good blend of savory from the cake and sweet from the icing. The chocolate did a good job of balancing out the sweetness from the icing. The donut was AMAZING. I don't like cake donuts so I'm thankful this was your typical fried dough donut. Absolutely delicious. I love pistachio so I had to try the croissant and it didn't disappoint. Not overly nutty but just right. The breakfast sandwich was dry and nothing special. I do think the sandwich needs to be jazzed up. It's nothing to prepare this at home BUT add something special. Like actual sauce to the sandwich and maybe season the eggs and butter the bread. Just a piece of advice but overall i'd come again.

Found this place while searching for vegan cakes. I ordered a customized cake for my Fiancé birthday. I ordered some 6 inch carrot cake with cream cheese filling with glitter and coconut flakes. I think I paid around $60 and tip. The cake turned out so cute and so delicious. Would def order here again. Their response time was great within 24 hours. When we picked up they had a mini store and sells different kinds of pastries. We picked up more desserts and even some vegan treats for our pup. Will definitely come back for more

I love this place! I never remember to take pictures but, here's a few from my most recent visit. I had a slice of quiche that was amazing, and the biscoff cheesecake, but this time I primarily visited to pick up some fancy plant based cheeses for a charcuterie board. I love that they carry bandit and rebel products. Everyone that works here is a delight and I like to visit anytime I can.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Vibes: 5/5 I've only tried the Lemon Raspberry Scone, but it was delicious. It was a pleasant texture and had just the right amount of kick of lemon and raspberry. My friend got a different pastry and was just as pleasantly surprised with his. We didn't know vegan pastries could taste this good.

Lots of interesting things Cute place with lots of plants :) you can buy the plants if you want! Brownie- dark and so yummy Berry scone and carrot raisin scone- didn't like the texture. Thought the carrot was better than the berry Guava cheesecake- reminded me more of icing and less cheesecake Cornflake cookie- good. Second favorite Cinnamon roll- my sisters second favorite but I didn't like it as much I really wanted to love the desserts from here cus there's a vegan donut place in LA that my sister and I love. We def expected too much and was disappointed for the most part. They do have some interesting drinks and stuff so I might try it again later but would not go out of my way since I'm not vegan

Vegan Pastry Lab opened earlier this year, and everything we tried on a recent visit, both sweet and savory, was incredible. I feel like we would be here all the time if we lived closer, because the food is great and the people are so friendly and helpful. I intended to get a few savory items and a couple of donuts, but everything looked (and for the samples they had out, tasted) so good that I ended up walking out with a picadillo empanada, a cream cheese bagel bomb, two donuts (hibiscus and strawberry glazed), a cookies and cream cupcake, a unicorn blondie, and a brownie. It took a lot of self-restraint to not get even more. My favorite of the sweets was the unicorn blondie topped with sprinkles and white chocolate chips, but the donuts were a close second. The picadillo empanada (seitan) was delicious, and if they have any empanadas when you visit, I highly recommend them. Generally, everything we had was fantastic, and for any vegan food skeptics, you really can't tell the difference for the most part between what they offer and non-vegan versions. The only exception for me would be the cream cheese in the bagel bomb, since I think cheese is really difficult to exactly replicate in vegan form, but the bagel bomb was still good as it was. Looking forward to trying more on our next visit!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! They are super nice here and their desserts are so delicious ! My daughter has allergies and it's one of the only bakeries that she can eat from. I was also able to get gluten free pastries for my brother. The pastries are a 10/10! 100% recommend!

    Carrot cake with cheesecake filling.

Ordered a last minute cake for my daughter who turned 17 and is vegan. Although cakes have to be ordered 3 days in advance they fulfilled my order (I called 1 day prior). The cake was DELICIOUS!!!! I took the suggestion from someone else in a review and ordered the carrot cake with cheesecake filling and coconut flakes. It was so good. My family isn't vegan, just my daughter and we ALL enjoyed the cake. We also got some banana pudding and a passion fruit donut. Everything was so good. We also purchased a cheese (Brie type) can't wait to try it! Ohh and customer service when I picked up the cake? 10 out of 10!!

I love this place. I'm a recent converter and have been here before but now appreciate this spot even more. Pastries are seriously amazing. They also make breakfast sandwiches that are delicious. Today I had the #3 breakfast sandwich ham & cheddar on a pretzel bun . Also had a lemon blueberry slice of cake. So good. The jam bar is also a top pick.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the interior. The pop art! The giant takeout box in the corner! The homage to Bruce Lee in the bathroom! Whoever was in charge of the restaurant's interior design took their jobs seriously. Service here is also fantastic. My husband and I were greeted boisterously as soon as stepped through the door, and when the guy at the counter heard this was our first visit, he was eager to explain the ordering process and the choices available. Fat Choy offers buildable and customizable bowls that are meant to be inspired by Chinese takeout options but healthier. What I appreciate is that they don't use seed oils (a big no-no in the health food world). It all sounds great. But in my book, food has to taste good. And this is unfortunately where Fat Choy fell flat for me. It might be 'healthier' Chinese food; it's also quite saucy and salty. Every single ingredient I selected for my bowl was heavily seasoned, and not always in a harmonious way. Even the more recognizable takeout elements of our meal - like sesame chicken - tasted a little off the mark. Some things were a little too gingery, others seemed a little heavy on the soy. In short, if you want to satisfy a craving for certain familiar Chinese takeout entrees, you might not want to bring those cravings here. But let me interrupt my mini-grousing session to mention one absolutely praise-worthy item here. The crispy mushrooms? Delectable. When we were ordering, my husband pointed to the pan of mushrooms at the counter. We were confused when they went into the back kitchen to get his serving. As it turns out, the ones in the front are a front; when someone orders it, they'll fry up a fresh batch in the kitchen so that customers never get the mushy ones. I respect that level of dedication towards optimizing taste.

I've been enjoying meals here since 2021 and I've never been disappointed. Füdgarten is the ideal spot to grab a healthy bite during a lunch break, after a work out, or for dinner. There's plenty of seating inside if you want to dine in. The interior is modern, clean, and inviting with lots of greenery. Their menu is built on natural ingredients and bold flavors. You can choose from diverse options like salads, bowls, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, protein shakes, etc. They use grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, wild-caught seafood, and locally sourced organic fruits and vegetables. They carefully craft their recipes and every item is made with love and care! Yes, the prices are on the higher end. But I'm happy to pay for higher quality food... because what you put into your body matters A LOT ;) I've tried a little bit of everything and they're all delicious. The food is packed with vibrant flavors and generous portions of protein. My top recommendation would be the Big NY (~$16). It includes steak, onion, mushrooms, romaine, feta, and lemon cilantro vinaigrette. I usually get it on a whole wheat wrap and it is to die forrrrrrrrr!!! The steak is super juicy and tender. All of the ingredients work so well together! One bite and I was in love. I also love getting a side of baked sweet potato fries ($6). Even the ketchup they use is organic and only made with REAL tomatoes. Don't forget to grab a bottled Kombucha ($5) from their fridge - a tangy, fizzy, sweet, and refreshing drink! The owner, Mike, is the man!!! Haha he's very welcoming, personable, and really cares about customer service. He's the type of business owner that will remember your name and order. This juice bar was just what I needed and it was very close to the Pilates studio I go to in Englewood. The friendly lady at the counter explained that shakes had protein powder and smoothies did not. I wanted something lighter. They had fresh squeezed juices but they are not made to order. There was a variety of bottled juices but I didn't check what kinds of juices there were. I opened for a smoothie made with coconut water and blended with banana, spirulina, spinach, chia seeds, pineapple and mango. It was refreshing and pretty light. I think it could have used more banana for creamier mouth feel though. They offer food options too for lunch and I could smell the vegan chili cooking. There are only stool seats but it's pretty quiet in there, sunny, but not really a place to sip and lounge. I finished most of my smoothie sitting in there enjoying the cool AC breeze. I stopped by this local juice bar tucked away in a corner of Englewood's bustling Palisades Ave. It's a small, but cute spot. Very clean and bright with lots of natural lighting. There's a few stools/bar seating facing the windows, but this is more of a grab-and-go place. The menu is straightforward. Of course you can expect prices to be higher $$ for organic ingredients. They sell smoothies, meal replacement shakes, cold-pressed juices, and wellness shots. There's a large variety of fruits, vegetables, and superfood add-ons. In addition to drinks, they also have a limited food/snack menu - smoothie bowls, salad, soup, protein bites, overnight oats, impossible burger, etc. They even sell sea moss! Everything is fresh. There's plenty of vegan options. Service was standard and quick. I wish the employee was more interactive and enthusiastic. I told her it was my first visit, and she didn't really give me too many recommendations or explain the menu/products very well. I ordered a small McKay Madness smoothie (~$9) and berry chia seed pudding (~$5). The smoothie had mango, pineapple, banana, kiwi, and coconut water. The consistency was smooth and not too thick. It was refreshing and not sweet. Not the best smoothie I've had, but it did the job. The chia seed pudding was a satisfying snack, but I wish it had more flavor and sweetness to it. The texture was perfect, but it just tasted bland. I added a bit of honey on my own to enhance the flavor. I would come back to try more smoothies and juices if I'm craving one.

The menu is tantalizing and there's plenty of familiar favorites along with a few new-to-me items that the server readily described when I asked questions. This time, I tried the pargiot sandwich. I had no previous conception of 'pargiot' but another reviewer had sung praises about this wonderfully marinated chicken thigh meat. Having tried it, I'm not convinced it's blow-your-mind good, but it was decently flavorful and tender. You can customize the salad type that goes in your sandwich, and I chose the Israeli salad, a blend of tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Mine felt a touch overstuffed since it was harder to taste the chicken and made my pita soggy quicker than I would have thought, but it's hard for me to ding points for generous servings. Our server checked in on us regularly and even thought to inquire about any sesame allergies before setting down the tahini dip that comes with the welcome platter of bread. As the restaurant got full and our visit came up against a reservation, I appreciated how respectfully he asked for the table. Speaking of reservations, it might be a good idea to make one for your visit, especially if you're thinking of coming for dinner. My friend and I came on a random Tuesday afternoon and this space completely filled up. There are also some outside tables available for possible spillover seating, but if your heart is set on coming here, call ahead. Parking in Englewood is always tough, especially come mealtimes because there are so many restaurants here.
