This is not a place to get trendy or fusiony style things (bubble tea, matcha desserts) and they don't have vegan or gluten free goods. However the classics they make are solid. Had an Oreo cupcake. The batter was rich chocolate cake. The white cream icing had massed up Oreo cookies in it and a thick layer (removed some of it). A whole Oreo cookie sat on top of the piped icing. I stopped in last week for the first time in over 30 years and still the same delicious products. I had to get their infamous Pecan Bavarian ring cake ( see pic) which was so good. Grabbed a few pastries called Lobster Tails which is a crisp, shell-shaped Italian-American pastry with hundreds of paper-thin, flaky layers, resembling a lobster's tail. This version was filled with whipped cream ( as others are with French or custard cremes. ) Always a safe bet when you need good bake shop goods. Only thing off to me was on a recent Saturday afternoon there were only 2 clerks working and between the phone call orders and the 2 people in front of me it took almost 30 minutes to get a few items. The location is pretty easy to find, but you need to find street parking. It's a decent sized place with many pastry and cake options (definitely coming back for a cake!). We got: - Irish soda bread (they can slice it for you if you want): everyone makes this different, and I really enjoy this version. It's made with white flour and raisins, and has this hint of sweet vanilla / milk taste (reminds me of my childhood pastries). - rainbow cookies: whoa - these are triple deckers! I was really shocked when I bought the strawberry cheesecake -- the strawberries were nearly rotten and not fresh at all. The ones I saw in the display case looked fresh, but the ones in the package were disappointing. The donuts were also nowhere near as good as Dunkin' Donuts. We have been cutomer's of Miller's Bakery for over 40 years. Having said that, our last couple of experiences have been very disappointing. We ordered a Strawberry Shortcake last week, we could not believe how THIN the strawberry layer was. When I called the bakery, they asked me to email them photos of the cake, we complied. She assured me when she received the email she would call me back. She never called. I called back and spoke to the lady again. She says they are making the strawberry layer thinner. It's shameful that a bakery that has been around 90 years is cutting corners on the recipes and raising the prices of their product. The woman began to mock me and was rude. When they offered a chocolate chip cookie instead, I was hesitant. But she assured me, "You won't regret it." I decided to trust her confidence and ordered the cookie. I was shocked--it was the best chocolate cookie I've ever had! Not too sweet, with a wonderfully fluffy yet crunchy-soft texture that's hard to describe. No wonder she was so confident. Warning! Black mold on strawberry short cake! Had a bad horrible reaction to the cake and after checking thoroughly, I see black mold on the strawberries. How is this business still open? When someone truly gets sick, will they care about what they are doing? Is it not enough to see mold on the cake? The difference is it's not a thick custard but more of a chantilly cream, it was fresh and tasty. There were no customers whatsoever in the shop at about 630 on a weeknight. There were three young ladies standing behind the counter. Not one of them looked up and welcomed us or greeted us. I really wanted to turn around and leave because I always say 'I vote with my feet'. It just seemed awkward at that point so we picked up a couple of cupcakes. I've been a customer for almost ten years. Almost all our family's birthday cakes and party cupcakes came from Miller's Bakery. The flavor wasn't the best in the area but since it's only 5 minutes' walk from our house, this place has been our go-to bakery. We also recommended the bakery to many friends in the area over the years. However, my experience there today really disappointed me. The girl served me wasn't friendly to start with. I didn't feel like being treated as a valued customer at all. I would have been to another bakery if it wasn't raining. Eventually I picked up a cake and asked the girl to write Happy Birthday on the cookie for me which she did. When I got home, I was shocked to see the cookie completely glued to the box thus the Happy Birthday writing was totally ruined! (See pic) Thank God I checked it before I presented it to the birthday boy! Well, I had to run to another store to get a Happy Birthday sign to rescue the situation. This Happy Birthday cookie episode might be a one-time thing, but your staff's attitude is the main reason that I am not going back. It's not just one girl, I experienced the same disappointing customer service the last few visits. Sadly you are losing a long-time customer. If you want to hire kids, make sure train them at least to have a good attitude towards the job and the customers. read more

I haven't tried everything in the Miller's Bakery. But whatever I tried tasted great! My personal favorites here are croissants, scones, almond biscotti, cannoli filled cakes and ... their own fresh made mozzarella! But you have to order the last one. More awesome things are there, but try them for yourself. Everyone is very kind here and pleasure to deal with! This is my favorite place to walk to into almost every Friday. The smell of baked goods is somthing by itself. Reminds me of my childhood. The bread is incredibly good too. I bring it as a gift to my friends. This makes them happy, and so me as well. been coming here for almost 10yrs. I went last week to buy deserts for TG dinner. Bought a cake and a dozen cupcakes( more expensive than the cake). When i served them the next day after TG dinner, the cupcakes were super hard and stale. They were unedible,i threw them all away. I was mortified. Thank god for the cake, well,not really. Cake wasnt great either,also stale but not as bad as cupcakes. Still tossed half the cake in trash too. I was so disappointed. My boxed cupcakes are way better. The butter cookies dipped in chocolate with sprinkles is the reason I come here. It's the only bakery I go to in Cliffside Park. Not only do they have a good assortment of different desserts, I have yet to try something that wasn't fresh. I could almost bet that they make 'em fresh daily. The only thing is I don't like jelly between the cookies (it tastes great, I just don't like jelly). I wish they would have a selection of the dipped cookies with sprinkles without glueing it to another cookie with jelly or maybe glue it together with chocolate instead?
