I had called AAA to get a tow to my normal mechanic after my car had died twice while running and I managed to get it to a Sears to just do a battery check. They came up with "it's the alternator" and were going to give me a shit part and no one would touch my car that day cause they were "not comfortable" working on it. Called my mechanic to tell them what happened and he immediately said "DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR!" and gave me the number for Cupertino Towing because they often work together. When speaking with AAA I requested Cupertino Towing because of my mechanic's referral and they told me they were going to call them anyway. To which I responded "AWESOME! THAT'S PERFECT." Cupertino called me not even 5 minutes after I got off the phone with AAA saying their man would be there in about 10 minutes. After dealing with complete IDIOTS with Sears seeing Daniel come to take me to my normal mechanic made me ecstatic! He was very warm, polite, and easy to talk to. I had an awesome drive chatting with him on the way to my mechanic. They guys are beyond efficient and any time I become a damsel in distress again I wouldn't hesitate to call them. After reading the below reviews, I am glad that I was able to drive my car after getting a jump from Cupertino Towing. This review is for the battery jump only. I was in charge of my boyfriend's car one weekend and of course the one weekend I have it, the battery dies. I called AAA and they sent Cupertino's battery jumper type car out to help me out. The guy who helped me out was professional and quick and did a battery reading that did, indeed, confirm that the car needed a new battery. After a quick jump start and a 5 minute wait to see if the car would stop again, we were on our separate ways. This is a review is from a AAA tow with Cupertino. ----- My truck would not start so I called AAA to have it towed back to my home. When I called AAA I stated I needed a Freightliner Rollback due to the truck being a dually and it required a larger deck that the usual trucks they send out and as expected AAA thought I did not know what I was talking about. When the first tow truck driver showed up (not a Cupertino Towing truck), he came in the smaller Dodge 5500 Rollback. As soon as he pulled up the driver said "That truck will not fit on my rollback". I then had to call AAA back again to get this resolved where they told me they would have to tow it back to my home tomorrow morning. Not an option I was going to consider, so I had to battle with AAA to finally call Cupertino Towing and have them bring out their Freightliner Rollback (we have used them prior and it was a great experience). Just like that, Cupertino Towing showed up with their Freightliner Rollback and we were on our way. Mike (the tow driver) totally earned his $$ by spending the better part of an hour figuring out how to deal with my mess (a 2005 Prius with gas and HV battery drained - a completely avoidable dumb move on my part). He even let me gas up the car while it was on the flatbed, in a last-ditch attempt to get it started again (apparently when a Prius is completely drained of all fuel + battery, it needs to be sent to the dealership)... if it worked he'd just unload it right there. Had to be towed twice in 35 hours.Saturday night we had to be towed from Main and Cypress (car stalled -fuel pump just stoppedworkinf). Roland got there within 15/20 minutes. Delivered us home and put the car in the back yard right where we wanted it. Second tow was monday morning Hillcrest exit on west bound Hwy 4. Jake picked up me and my truck in a timely manner and parked it right next to my car in the back yard. As he was unloading the truck he saw what the problem was and showed me. The fuel tank had collapsed because the fuel cap had malfunctioned. Thanks for being so observant. It made the fix quick and easy. Friends drilled a hole in the old cap. Blew air into the tank thru the cap which expanded the tank back to original shape and put on a new factory cap. Good as new. All your drivers have been courteous, clean and very helpful. I would highly recomend them. read more

This TOW Company is the worst company I've dealt with in awhile. I CALLED AAA to use my Premier Membership and they sent Cupertino out to tow my car. First off they were late and then they Towed my car from Brentwood to Martinez to my Mechanics shop. My mechanic told them not to drop the car right in the middle of his driveway because there wasn't a key and he wouldn't be able to move the car around. He told them to drop it in the parking lot across the street and that he would deal with it . Well Cupertino refused to drop it in the parking lot and decided to take it back to there tow yard all the way back in Antioch . Which is not far from where I had them pick it up in Bremtwood . Well they said they called me but I didn't receive any message and then I get a bill for over $1000 dollars for the week of storage at the yard . I didn't even know it was at the yard and they just tell me that I owe them $1000 dollars . They basically cost me my car because I couldn't come up with $1000 dollars at the time and then it just kept on adding up everyday . I called Cupertino and asked if they could work with me on this and they said no . I told them that it was a big misunderstanding and it shouldn't cost me my car because they wouldn't drop the car. So basically they stole my car from me and I got screwed . They are totally unprofessional and they don't care because they got AAA IN THERE POCKET AND A COUPLE CITIES AS WELL . TOTAL b.s. on there part and once again the little guy gets screwed over by the big fish . I would never use the guys again read more

It took 2 hours on a Friday night for AAA to conjure up a tow company to come get my stranded ass, and I was grateful. Travis expertly got me as far as he could, even though it was well after quitting time, and we kind of ran into a snag...Travis remained calm and professional and I felt safe and taken care of all the while. Cupertino Towing sent tow truck driver Andrew Russell in response to my call for roadside assistance from AAA. My battery cable connection to the battery had corroded and the bolt was frozen, so I figured I needed a tow to the mechanic. Andrew said he thought he could fix it. He actually drove to an auto parts store and bought the new part, then had to use a mini-torch to get the old bolt off. When he got it repaired, I asked him what I owed for the parts. He had used his own money -- AAA doesn't reimburse this -- for the $15 in parts. I went into the house to get the cash, but when I came back out, he was gone. I can't possibly convey enough praise for Andrew and for Cupertino Towing for this kind of above-and-beyond service. read more

Normally don't write reviews all that often but I felt the need to do so after my experience with Cupertino. I needed to have my car taken from one shop in Antioch to another in Martinez. I'm expecting 45 minute wait or so like its always been all my life with towing. Nooope! Less than TEN minutes goes by and this cute girl with cool sunglasses named Anna shows up. I didn't even have a chance to tell the mechanic I would be needing the car out of the shop to tow even. Anna didn't mind waiting as we had to move several different cars to get mine out of the shop. Once out we were good to go! She strapped up everything pretty fast. You always think a drive longer than 5 minutes is going to be just a bit awkward in a cab with a stranger. Anna wouldn't allow it. Right from the start she was very professional and courteous, but still genuine. I liked her energy and her general positive outlook which is rare anymore. She told me some funny stories, and was even an attentive listener when I started rattling on about something! Once we arrived we shortly realized I had given her the wrong address initially as I didn't know this mechanic moved to another part of town. Anna was all smiles and wasn't the least bit annoyed. Once we made it to the actual location I was honestly a bit bummed as I was enjoying our conversation. Crazy, right? To top it all off, she tells me she's only been with company for 6 months. What the what?! Well apparently they must be doing something right at Cupertino, if they can churn out a quality tower like Anna in that period of time. Well done management! So yeah-anytime I use AAA in the bay, from now on I am demanding Cupertino! And if they are still listening, by god then I will demand that cool tower chick that works for them! Cupertino Tow either has no insurance or violates CA state law 16028(a)VC- (Proof of Insurance ) by not providing insurance in an accident. An impatient Cupertino Tow driver stuck in a busy lane swung out and hit my vehicle in heavy traffic without signaling- clear violation of 22107 VC- (Unsafe Lane Change/ No Signal). The accident caused minor damages so I took photos, created a diagram, and exchanged information. The tow driver claimed he did not have proof of insurance. I should have notified the Police right away when Cupertino Tow had no insurance. The tow driver gave me a business card with his manager "Craig Baker" on it. He told me to call for the proof of insurance. I called over 10 times spanning about 2 months. I spoke to Craig a few times and he flat out refused to give insurance information. Allstate Insurance handled the claim and Craig refused to give Allstate claims manager proof of insurance. Instead he tried to negotiate with them. Now Allstate has to take them to Civil Court. What a ridiculous company. They have no accountability and it starts from the top. By the way, Cupertino Tow is rated "F" in the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I would give them zero stars if I could. They are an unethical business. I wouldn't trust them. read more

Outstanding service from when I first made the call and was greeted by a very nice polite person on phone to when the A+ driver Bruce showed up to tow my vehicle. Bruce had to be the kindest, friendliest, patient, and helpful tow truck driver ever! A brand new ignition key that I had made needed to be sent with car to Nissan, but in the midst of my very hectic day seemed to grow legs and walk away. He tried helping me look for it in the front yard and then told me to go ahead and take sometime in the house and he would wait. He said he hated for me to have to spend more money to have a new one made. Overall I would say he is an asset to Cupertino Tow and for sure the tow driver anyone would want to show up when in need of a tow! read more

Too fucking high with prices.. Called for an unlock and was charged like i needed a tow across town

I had an accident on Nov. 17th on Route 4 by the construction zone which disabled my car. I called AAA and they had Cupertino Towing come to the scene, with AAA logo truck blazing. As I was trying to contemplate where to tow the car, including a friends house who also arrived on the scene, I felt completely rushed by the tow truck driver to the extent that I had to yell STOP so that I could remove items from my car. Still deciding where to to the vehicle the driver suggested that my car could be towed to their lo and I could decide the next day where to tow it. THE DRIVER NEVER MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS NOT PART OF THE AAA SERVICE, and that it would cost me $75 for the car to be towed there overnight. I could easily have had them tow me to any local gas station off Route 4, or to my friends house, and I would not have been charged at all. I feel the 'rush' job coupled with not informing me of storage charges borderlines on unethical. A complaint has already been registered with AAA and I hardly ever write reviews on Yelp, but feel compelled to on this incident. read more

Accident on 4-15-2020, Malicoat Avenue and Main Street in Oakley. Fast response but the driver left all the debris in the road. He picked up three pieces and threw them in the damaged car and drove off. Called the office and they said they would message the driver. Nothing happened. Called Cupertino Tow a few weeks ago to pull a truck out of the mud. Two separate trucks showed up and neither even made an attempt! They said my truck was too heavy and would pull them into the mud and then we would all be stuck. Seems that training (or common sense) would prevent that from happening but... So I called Arrowhead Tow. They sent out a truck that was smaller than both of Cupertino's but by some divine miracle of physics, he had me out and back to work in about 10 minutes. When my truck brake line broke I called AAA and requested a flat bed tow truck because my lowered chevy truck is too low for a regular tow truck. Sean from Cupertino tow showed up and he has been a pleasure to work with. He is friendly, knowledgable and took really good care of my truck. He took his time and gently pulled my truck up the flatbed and used rags to cover the chain so that he wouldn't damage my painted front valance. He also explained everything he did. Our conversation from Clayton to Oakley was pleasant and I really appreciated his service. A+! When he unloaded the truck he did the same care as loading it. He also jumped started my truck because my battery died. (Yeah one of those kinda of days). I've used Tow service many of times in my 31 years of driving and he by far was the best I've encountered. My tow service was on 5/24/2014. After calling AAA, Cupertino Towing was to my house within 10-12 minutes!! Th gentleman who arrived was nice and had my car loaded on his flatbed in about 7 minutes. I needed to ride along with my car and the cab of the truck was comfortable. This tow company and the owner, Kyle, are the most unprofessional tow company out there. When I called for a tow they told me 1 hour. I waited more than an hour on the side of the road in the dark with my 8 year old son. They told me that the tow would be no charge and when the driver arrived I asked if I needed to sign anything and these were his exact words, "I don't know, I've never done a night tow and Kyle was always at the yard so I'm not sure". The next day I received a call saying that the repairs were $500 and that the tow was $80 and that I could not have my car until paid.
