I have been telling my husband I have been wanting to try this place every time we drive by it. Finley we didn't forget about trying this place. I was way more excited than him, but when he saw some of the food go by he was excited. The menu had such a wonderful items that sounded so delicious I wanted to get one of everything. One thing I just love about the kids menu it had two options for a little eaters and big eaters I thought that was really sweet because I have a little eater and sometimes he doesn't need three pancakes. Anyways I got a cup of coffee and their coffee was delicious. I ended up doing the ChillaQuiles w/ green sauce and two eggs and I added grilled onions! It was so good that my husband had to help me with it! We drive back and forth between San Diego and Phoenix frequently and have been looking for a great breakfast/lunch spot in the area to stop at with the kids. The part that I am really writing about is the customer service. It was great! I was there for breakfast with my 100 year old mother in law who walks with a walker. I am giving two stars only because the people who works there was nice, all of them were polite and nice. But the food was disappointing. We got there and right away they served water for us, but after that we waited for like almost 20 minutes before a person that we think is the owner came and asked us if everything was okay. We told him that we were waiting and he called somebody another good 30 minutes passed before we finally saw our food. Like I said it was disappointing. The chilaquiles were dry and the meat no flavor whatsoever. The "owner" (because i dont know if he is) offered an ON THE HOUSE bread pudding and I'm not lying. We waited AGAIN and two different servers came with the check so we decided to just pay and leave without trying the dessert that we never got. But I decided to tell the waitress about it and she told us okay, is going to be ON THE HOUSE... we were like.. okay then another server came and brought the bread pudding and he told us.. IS ON THE HOUSE okay! OMG! We were like okay super clear! We tried it but WE DIDNT LIKED IT the place is nice but is too hot to be waiting forever for the food and stuff plus is not with it. Decided to try them for the first time for take-out during the COVID crisis. I was first impressed by the friendliness and warmth of the owners - then when we got home and ate the food - Wow. Even better. Their Chicken Piccata is perfection, and my son LOVED the Meat-lovers burger. Never seen anything like it, but it definitely lives up to it's name. Driving through town we took a pit stop and were talking about how hungry we were when the nicest stranger recommended Cups Cafe. We got there 20 minutes before they opened and the owner (he may have been the manager but took care of the place like an owner) told us they opened in 20 but we were welcome to come in.
