I had been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally my guy said he was craving something sweet so off we went. When we walked in the atmosphere was great. There were tons of delicious looking cupcakes. The girl behind the counter was awesome and asked if we had been there before. We told her no so she gave us a rundown of everything they had. We ended up buying 4 minis to try them out. The German chocolate and maple bacon for me, and the lemon and a strawberry for my guy. I loved mine, they were soft and moist and the German chocolate one was on point! I wanted to try so much more and another customer in the store mentioned that the brownies were to die for, when I go in by myself next time I'll get it definitely... and maybe I'll share :) the store was inviting and the cupcakes were yummy. Im definitely a repeat customer! UPDATE: I had to add more into my last review. I came back to this shop again to get some cupcakes. I got double fudge, strawberry, German chocolate, salted caramel, red velvet and birthday cake. These cupcakes are MIND BLOWING. I think the double fudge was the most amazing cake item I have ever had. The frosting was ridiculously good and their cakes are so moist and dense, yet fluffy and delicious. Their cupcakes are so moist and delicious!! They even have gluten free cupcakes. The frosting may be the best part of the whole cupcake. I really love frosting though. They have slices of cake, rice krispie treats, other yummy looks treats, and parfaits in a cup. There's so many options but I usually end up going with a couple mini cupcakes. They made a custom cake for my son's first birthday a few years ago - woodland theme - and it was perfect. The fondant woodland creatures came out perfectly and the whole cake, down to the last detail was so cute. We ordered a marble cake with vanilla frosting and omg I still remember how delicious that cake was 3 years later. It was perfectly moist. When I heard they'd opened a store in OKC I was thrilled. Came in here to order 72 cupcakes for a military ceremony. I need them for the Tuesday after Memorial Day. The lady wasn't willing to work with me at all. She told me to buy the cupcakes on Saturday! Who wants old cupcakes for a military celebration? This happens to be a very special day for my military family! I tried to ask about getting them fresh for that day and the answer was NO! They are closed on Sunday and for the holiday. She is the baker and she is not coming in early to accommodate my order. I guess she just doesn't need the business? Needless to say, I left unhappy. This shop will NOT get my business in the future. It isn't because I didn't want them to have it. After all, I went to them first. It is because they chose not to have it. Btw, I would have given them plenty of it. We host a lot of events. So I left and went to Gigi's cupcakes on North May. Not only were they able to accommodate the 72 cupcakes/$240.00, but they offered to come in early to bake them fresh for the day! The baker is coming in at 4am to make the cupcakes especially for us. Wow! Just wow! Buttersweet wouldn't even open at 8am for me to pick up cupcakes from Saturday before the ceremony on this next Tuesday. What a difference customer service makes. Maybe Buttersweet should head on over to Gigi's too. They could learn a thing or two about customer service. Their lack of practicing it might be the reason their cute little shop was empty during my visit. read more

Hellooooo new favorite cupcake place!! I love, love, love the fact that they have mini versions of every flavor. It's perfect for someone like me, who wants to taste every flavor. We got 6 flavors: creme brûlée, cookie dough, strawberry, red velvet, birthday cake and Boston cream. They were ALL moist and delicious! Next time I'm going for the whole dozen to try the rest! They have other desserts, too, but I was too distracted by the pretty cupcakes to even think about getting anything else. There's always next time. We were excited abut the Girl Scout themed cupcakes and anxious to have ButterSweet make a Tagalong cake.... especially after seeing the cupcakes topped with Tagalong cookies. We love the ButterSweet cupcakes and get the mini-cupcakes often; so the anticipation was heightened as a birthday and Easter approached and coincided in the same day. So, we took a step out and splurged on a custom Tagalong cake. However, we were majorly disappointed - MAJORLY! We were very specific with directions and what we wanted. Even to mention we wanted light icing and definitely Tagalong cookies to help finish off the cake. The icing was super heavy and way too much (not enjoyable). The chocolate Ganache was extremely thick, missing any shiny finish or smooth texture (much different than the cupcakes). Probably the biggest disappointment were the FAKE Tagalong cookies. I had to make a 2nd visit, to pick up the cake, because they were waiting on the delivery of the cookies to finish the cake. Please just visit and buy cupcakes but don't order a cake... Because I think they freeze them before you come and pick it up. It was a total fail. I'm coming back to fix this review and make sure Buttersweet has the stars it deserves. They fixed the issue with the cake and we have been back several times for cup cakes and the kids love them. The staff is always super nice and I enjoy stopping in to grab a treat. read more

We love the cupcakes and when looking for a cake for my Mothers 91st birthday we decided to get it here. What a huge disappointment! The cake was 2 thick layers that had no moisture! It was so dry and crumbly that the pieces could not be moved to the serving plates without crumbling. The frosting was mushy and tasted nothing like buttercream. I was totally embarrassed in front of our entire family! To top it off, Mother asked for pecan pie so we ordered a pie that cost $19!! I expected it to be no less than scrumptious and it might have been if it hadn't been burned to a crisp! We couldn't slice it with a knife because it had cooked so long the 2 inches around the edge was hard as a rock. Not only wasted $55.00, I was made to look like a cheap idiot in front of my family. I came in today to get a single cupcake to take to my son for his birthday. His school doesn't allow for classroom birthday parties, as he's in middle school and all of the students couldn't be included. While i was in the store for less than three minutes. The girl behind the counter pointed out the pricing four times. "All of our cupcake pricing in on the wall over there" "cupcake pricing is right up here", etc. i never once asked for the pricing nor was i concerned about pricing. It started to seem strange to me and took a minute for me to understand why she was repeatedly pointing out the pricing of CUPCAKES I was dressed in pajamas and just out for a quick errand. I would never return to this store after the way that young woman acted. Another woman was also in the store purchasing cupcakes in business attire. The staff did not alert her to the pricing a single time. It was disgusting and a little funny at the same time. What an ignorant assumption for someone working the counter of a cupcake store to make. Keeping a small business running can be tough, especially with a staff who makes assumptions about their patrons based on their attire. Many bakeries with better product and better service in the area. read more

I ordered a wedding cake through them and on my wedding day they didnt put the flowers on it. the flowers were sitting right beside the cake! Worst thing is when i was cutting the cake in front of everyone, the flavor of the cake was all wrong except the bottom tier!!!! When i called to complain they just said they were sorry for the ordeal as a baker placed the wrong tier on top too. they offered me an anniversary cake( like i would take a cake from them after ruining my wedding day cake-.-). After fighting over and over again with them they finally sent me a check of $100. Now know that my cake cost me $520 and everything but the bottom tier was wrong!! and they only gave me 100 back.. Hold on that's not it. I cashed the check the same day i got it. the next day I see that the check got canceled and I had to pay a fee due to that check being canceled. I called them a million times and they ignored and avoided my calls until i called with a new number and they answered. They said, and I quote, " We will send you a new check only if you remove your bad reviews on facebook, google, yelp etc.. It's hurting our small business". I understand that they are a small business, but if you would treat your customers right then you wouldn't be having bad reviews! They were bribing me!! This business is a lie. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAKES THERE!! FYI Never got my money. I refuse to lie to people looking for a good cake company and I didnt delete my review. I even started filing a lawsuit but it was just too much of a hassle and stress for us newlyweds. read more

Just ok. Honestly since moving from Northern Illinois area last fall until now every time someone brags about food here we are disappointed. Nothing spectacular here either. The places back home better for everything including cupcakes. We tried turtle, creme brûlée and key lime. Cake nothing spectacular, frosting did not taste buttery enough for me to call it a true buttercream. I do a killer buttercream!
