My experience at Hopscotch was deeply disappointing and left me with a lasting negative impression. A friend and I stopped in to enjoy the evening. After we'd been there for a while, my friend, who had briefly stepped away to use the restroom, was approached by staff and told he needed to leave because someone had allegedly said he was making them feel uncomfortable. He calmly asked why, but no clear explanation or specific behavior was given. My friend chose to leave peacefully rather than argue, but it was obvious he was hurt and confused. He's one of the kindest, most respectful people I know, and seeing him treated that way was upsetting. We left together because the atmosphere no longer felt welcoming. I can't speak to the staff's intentions, but the experience felt unfair, judgmental, and unwelcoming. I hope management takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled so other customers don't leave feeling the same way we did. read more

We are not from OKC, but several family members met here, and we picked it because we wanted somewhere with a lot of variety, good vibes and is fairly child friendly since we were coming with 16 month old twins. We got here early, around 1120. The selections on the menu sounded very good and we all got something different and they even had a children's menu. The food was outstanding and there was plenty of it. I got the kickin chicken and it was outstanding. My daughter had roasted Brussels sprouts with her entree and said they were amazing. Overall, a great experience and couldn't have made a better choice on where to go. Hopscotch is a village local favorite. This place slaps. I live close by and have explored their menu frequently and cannot find a thing I dislike. The service is great and they have a drive through pick up window on the back side of the building. The only thing I wish they changed is the dive bar look inside. That said, our meal and especially the alcoholic beverage selections, storage and crafting left much to be desired. A glass of red wine came to me disappointingly warmer than the usual 60°. My companion's red Sangria looked and tasted like something that came straight from a grocery store shelf bottle. Served warmer than not, it was frankly, awful. The Rotisserie Chicken salad was short on chicken and long on candied-sweet, fried, unidentifiable, I-don't-know-what. Not recommended. Price point was higher than average. A friend of mine comes here every Thursday with a group of her girlfriends and wanted to have dinner together there this Saturday so I could try it. I was surprised by the casualness. It's a restaurant & bar that is heavy on the bar atmosphere. You walk in and there is self seating with bar tables and booths and in the back there are pool tables and TVs. It was quite loud but we could still talk at a comfortable level. The staff were also welcoming and friendly. The food was pretty good. She got a wedge salad with French onion soup and a side of glazed carrots. I got the two piece meatloaf with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. The house red wine wasn't that great, but I also know I ordered the cheapest wine on the menu. We split the chocolate cake which is from La Baguette and I kind of wish we'd ordered a house made dessert instead like key lime pie or banana pudding. The cake was delicious, but very rich and fudge like. I'm glad we shared it because I definitely overdid it. read more

I literally inhaled my half pulled pork sandwich and hefty cup of tomato bisque. The pulled pork sandwich had coleslaw on it, and it was the bomb. My other friend got the exact same thing I did and inhaled his as well. My other friend made a special request for a BLT and they happily obliged. They accidentally brought out regular fries instead of sweet potato fries, and then we quickly recovered the sweet potato fries without us even having to ask. The weight staff and manager were super friendly and checked on us a normal and fair amount of times, and made sure we had full cups (literally and figuratively) at all times. I had high hopes for this spot but was a bit disappointed. Hopscotch is more of a bar than a sit down spot. The inside has a large bar area with high tops and a pool table. The music they were playing by the pool table was LOUD (more bass than I anyone would care for). The place was a bit rowdy and it felt like Hopscotch can't decide if it wants to be a loud bar or a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, some people seemed to be enjoying the loud music and screaming to talk to each other, but it's not what I or the rest of my companions were looking for. Our table did not have an assigned server, as far as we could tell. We had three servers drop by during our visit. The food itself was average at best. I had the Honey Chicken (lightly fried chicken breast medallions, honey sauce, crispy rice noodles, diced red bell pepper, scallion, broccoli, and jasmine rice). Let me start by saying this spot is truly one of the best local hangouts -- the perfect blend of bar and restaurant. The staff, both behind the bar and on the floor, are always friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I've been coming here for about two years now, and the food has consistently been solid. If anything, I'd love to see the menu evolve a bit seasonally, even with just a few rotating additions to highlight fresh, local ingredients. I've heard there's a new chef stepping in, so I'm excited to see what direction things go -- time will tell. My only small piece of constructive feedback is that one of the owners (the blonde with curly hair) could be a bit more engaged with regulars and locals. A quick hello or a smile goes a long way. We were looking for somewhere to eat on St. Patricks day and the Rueben sandwich at Hopscotch caught our eye! We don't usually go to pubs/bars but the menu items looked pretty good. A real nice selection of foods to meet everyone's taste. We ordered an appetizer of chips, queso and salsa first. Two Ruebens and one order of Lettuce Wraps completed our order. The chicken for the lettuce wrap was a bit salty and they happily switched it for the Pulled Pork sandwich which was great. The Rubens were generous and flavorful. The marbled rye bread was perfect. The fries were just the right doneness. Honestly the service is where they shine and can't be beat. We were attended to by not just our server but every staff member that walked by made sure we had full drinks and checked our needs. I went here on a rainy Wednesday for lunch with my burger-loving friend. We're trying as many burgers as possible around metro OKC. This place delivered a burger that I would definitely eat again. Since it was my first visit, I stuck with a plain burger and added some grilled onions. That's my favorite burger topping. Combine that with some pickles, ketchup, and mustard, and I'm ready to go. This burger was also served with some lettuce and sliced tomato. Normally, I like having those on my burger, but this time, it led to burger construction problems. The tomatoes reduced friction too much; I had to keep adjusting the way that I held the burger to make sure that everything stayed together. On a future visit, I might take out some of the tomatoes. When you visit a place for the first time, you're not sure if that thick burger looking at you was made from fresh ground beef in the kitchen or thawed out from the food service vendor's package. This one appeared to be the former. It's great when your burger doubles as a thin steak. The grilled onions added the extra bit of umami that I expect from them. The bun also met my expectations. It was thick enough to hold the burger without disintegrating, but it was thin enough that I didn't struggle to open my mouth wide enough to eat each bite. Not every pub can make a great burger, but Hopscotch does. The fries that accompanied the burger were fine. I'm not sure if these are double fried, but they are darker fries. I like skin on my fries, they met my standard for visual appeal. Before I finish, I will echo a few other reviewers about the space itself. It's smaller than you think from the outside because the game room takes up about 50% of the non-kitchen and bar area. I am sure that it gets very loud with not too many patrons. Since I have trouble with loud environments, I'll limit future visits to weekday lunches. I also agree with other reviewers that this place does not appear to be family friendly. The aisle between tables is narrow, so a high chair would easily block the aisle. Also, the bathrooms are not set up with adequate space to change your baby or toddler. read more
