After paying, I grabbed a glass from the self-service water station near the back and rejoined my group. When my name was called, I picked up my perfectly brewed tea, and soon after, the BLT arrived--pure perfection. The sourdough, sourced from nearby Twisted Tree Baking Company, was a revelation: a crunchy crust with a soft, airy interior, hands-down the best I've had in years. It was very busy when we went but the line moved at a decent pace and the employees were all very nice. The inside is adorable with art on the walls and many seating options. The food here is sooo good! I love the big breakfast burrito and the breakfast sandwich. Food prices are a little higher but worth it. Coffee pricing is cheap. I get a Cortado for $4.50. Service is great and fast. Ambiance is excellent! We love eating next to the window. Parking can be tough if you aren't early. Located in downtown Edmond. This was my first time even though I've lived in Edmond for about 5-6 years now. I brought my family and everyone enjoyed their brunch entrees. My youngest had the waffle, oldest had the sausage, egg, and toast, hubby had the meat lovers omelette, and I had the avocado toast. They use twisted tree sourdough, and this is a self serve restaurant where you seat yourself and grab your own water. It was super busy, but we were lucky to find one table that was open. If I were to describe the notes of flavor I sensed from my cup I'd say burned bread, or if you've ever made caramel and took the sugar too far and burned it but it was not good. Evoke has grown on me and I've come to appreciate their taste and style. I love that they use a good quality coffee, syrups, and even oatmilk. The pastries are made off site and have always been yummy but the other fare is made in their kitchen. The service is relaxed but efficient and the physical space is warm and always filled with bubbling conversations. If I could change one thing, it would be to request an option of a somewhat larger size of drink (16oz, maybe?) and the inclusion of a hazelnut syrup option. Overall, the experience was so so. It's quite small, so if you're going there to work, read, or study, it really just depends on the day if you will have any space. They do respectfully ask that you not linger if they are very busy, which is totally understandable. The coffee was very pleasant. Great roasted espresso flavor and not too sweet. What lost some points here with me was the French toast. It was terrible. I would have sent it back, but it took quite a while for it to come out of the kitchen, and I was on a time crunch. Today is the first time my wife and I visited this establishment. It has some of the most amazing ambience. The chai latte was great and they are pet friendly which is super important to us. My only critique would be that the staff that takes your order should be friendly and welcoming...she was sullen and tad on the irritated side because I didn't Know exactly what I wanted. It's been close to maybe 4 years since I've stopped by Evoke and I'm sitting here a week after drinking one of their lattes like, "why don't I stop by here more often?". It was a simply syrup latte and it was one of the best drinks I've had in years. It had an incredibly smooth shot and was sweetened perfectly - not so sweet that it overtakes the drink but not so understated that you forget what you ordered. My wife got the caramel latte and was taken aback at how good it was. Everything about the drink was executed perfectly. Evoke does a great job with their drinks, pastries, and customer service, plus the actual dining area is great for coffee dates, meetings, or family brunches. The inside has a large amount of seating but it's not somewhere I would hang out at for a long time, the furniture isn't very "cozy." This is the real deal, a real specialty coffee shop here in Edmond. The cappuccino was served at the right temperature in the right cup. The cortado was also made luke warm (as it is supposed to be) and served in a Gibraltar cup. Top notch bar work and some amazing latte art to boot. They have a kitchen as well with some well chosen dishes. Everything seems to pair well with the espresso drinks they serve. The atmosphere is pleasant with lots of life and energetic conversations happening all around. The tables are clean and comfortable (the seats aren't hard metal objects like some trendy places), you can actually meet and take up some space with your friends. Ceilings are high and the room just overall feels roomy and comfortable rather than cramped and claustrophobic. Staff was all smiles and very friendly. High marks for this spot! My sister and I went to Evoke this morning, a spot we frequent. In fact, we took 3 out of town guests there yesterday morning as well. We ordered two avocado toasts and two coffees and planned to order more. My daughters 4 and 7 were with us, so we decided to pick them up a donut on the way, so we could enjoy our favorite spot peacefully. The menu at evoke, is great but designed more for an adults' tastes. We had just received our coffees when the manager came up to us and told us that we're not allowed to have outside food. We asked him if he would like for us to leave and he said yes. We said, should we just get a refund for our food and he said yes, the lady at the counter could help us with the refund. He informed us that "we didn't have to break the rules" , which were apparently posted in fine print of the front door. I've been here dozens of times and had never noticed and clearly didn't set out to be a rule breaker today. We never dreamed that we would be asked to leave. He made a scene in front of everyone and made us feel like criminals. We were both in shock that such a big deal was being made out of a donut when we had ordered 4 items and would have definitely ordered more. He could have kindly given them a few minutes to finish the donut and asked us not to do so again in the future instead of choosing such an insignificant hill to die on and losing frequent customers. The manager was extremely petty and seemed like something else was going on with him and he chose to take it out on the customers today. I understand that businesses have rules, but there is always a more tactful way of handling them when there is no harm done to anyone.
