The food and cocktails were amazing. The only problem we had was that our reservation did not go through when I booked online. We weren't aware until arriving at the restaurant. The hostess was not polite or accommodating at all. She didn't offer a table at a later time. I went to my car and booked a reservation for 30 min later. Originally I was told all of the tables on the patio were full and were being reset after they cleared. This was clearly not true since I was able to make a reservation from my car and while eating on the patio none of the other tables were reset with guests. We did love the food and atmosphere. The outdoor patio was very pretty. Customer service from the person who greets guests is very important. read more

We came from California to Chicago hoping to find some places like this and nothing we had there came close to this. We thought some items would be too heavy but whoever is in the kitchen knows their food!! I mean the roasted Brie with roasted garlic and the fig jam was just enough for you to enjoy without spoiling your appetite for the rest of the amazing dishes to come. Melt in your mouth short rib, perfectly seasoned and flavorful; the shrimp was perfectly crispy and the skinny fries with a kick of spice were just perfect. Those mushrooms were insane and I didn't want to share but sadly I had to. Same with the truffle pasta!! And the grand finale was dessert. I'm usually not a gelato person but my son got salted caramel and I was worried it would be too salty. I regretted not ordering it. It reminded me of those French sea salt caramels. Amazing! I don't think you can go wrong with anything you choose here and the great thing is everything is just the right portion and balanced for you to enjoy without feeling heavy and you leave satisfied. I was in town for a mellow visit. I live in California now and the bar is set very high there. Curate would stand up to most of the better spots back in Cali in terms of flavors and offerings. We had takeout to avoid in person dining during Covid-19 and although the presentation was standard for take out the flavor and quality exceeds most found in Springfield. We thoroughly enjoyed the Short Rib, Lamb Meatballs, Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Roasted Brie, and Spicy Bucatini with lobster. The service was friendly and efficient. The difference in dining between Curate and sister restaurant Vele is eye opening. The experience at Vele compared to Curate is hardly comparable; but here's a start-Curate charged $20 for a martini. When we questioned the waitress she replied they change by the ounce. $20 for a Tito's martini? The other restaurant owned by the same people ( Vele) is $9.00. This is not a mistake-this is Springfield. This isn't Chicago. Avoid as they take every opportunity to gouge customers. read more

We LOVED our meal, the atmosphere, and the service. Our dinner club (14 of us) had planned to visit this new Springfield addition when COVID hit and we had to cancel our reservations. Once Curate opened back up and we could go out to eat, first stop Curate. After a year of waiting, we weren't disappointed. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the cost of some of the plates are too high for the quantity of food. To order enough to get enough to eat would be about $40-$50 per person. The drink menu was great and paired well with the food offerings. I opted for the flank steak and roasted brie. Both were phenomenal! Let me start out this review by saying I'm celiac and I understand it's a pain to serve someone with such a severe food allergy; I know, it's worse living with it and trying to live a normal life. That being said, I noted it on my reservation to give a heads up but that apparently it wasn't observed. We were immediately seated and the server came right over which we love. I discussed my allergy and the server said she was new and would come back to tell me what I could eat. When she came back she said I could have 4 things, and clearly demonstrated a lack of knowledge of celiac so I asked if someone could help her. She was visibly insulted and a new server arrived and we could not be more thankful because as much as we travel the world, she's the best server we've ever had! Courtney was not only knowledgeable about the menu and my allergy, she was conscientious of what my boyfriend could eat and what I could, and PERFECTLY, timed our many courses so we each had food. It was beyond impressive. To add to that, she was incredibly personable and engaging, a quality we both value in our server. The experience at Curate would not be the same if Courtney wasn't our server and she is the reason we will be returning; her and the lemon sorbet :-) read more

Curate was amazing! Our group of seven shared about 14 different menu items. We had a charcuterie platter with amazing humus dip, blue cheese, naan, red peppers, olives, and other cheeses and dipping sauce. The small plates we shared included ribeye, lobster pasta, steak tartar, salmon crudo , wedge salad, Brie with fig jam, fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and several other pasta dishes. Every plate was beautifully plated and tasted even better than it looked. The price of the small plates were between $8-18 dollars for a nice sized portion. We then topped off the dinner with a dessert platter that was off the charts. It was almost too pretty to eat. The specialty cocktails were different and had a generous pour. The butterscotch martini got a rave review as did the mule. The wine also came with a generous pour. There was seating outside and inside. All of the employees had their COVID protective gear on. The service was fast and friendly. I think Curate definitely is the best restaurant in Springfield. It ranks right up there as one of my top 5 restaurants of all time! read more

I don't even know where to start with the amazing experience we had at Curate last night! We had three of their season cocktails - ALL outstanding and their bartenders were so good at helping select or describe each one so you could select the best for your taste buds. The food - drool-worthy. We cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! We had the prawns, Caico e pepe and the short ribs - melt in your mouth. Each dish was unique and flavorful and we would order all three again. We also had wine flights with dinner and our waiter did a great job helping us pair them up. Which leads me to my final point - their service was something out of this world. We came in and did not have a reservation, but the hostess was immediately offering options for us to enjoy the bar and another lounge area while we waited for a table. Very accommodating, she followed up several times to ensure we were still doing ok throughout our wait and the entire staff was just highly attentive and extremely helpful in making our experience a phenomenal one.
