The service here is excellent. I do think the food is more expensive than it's worth. It's decent, but it's not amazing. They're definitely charging for ambiance, but, hey, I'm happy to pay for it for a nice dining experience. I'm just excited that this place exists, as there are only a handful of late night spots in Columbia. Though overpriced in my opinion, dinner was tasty - I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries. The sauce they put on the sandwich is soooo good! I'd definitely come back and order it again. I also plan on coming back to try their brunch, as I've heard good things about it. read more

One of the top tier fine-dining restaurants in Howard County. We went on a busy weekend night and were told there would be a wait time, which was no problem. We were quickly seated then. I got a scallop and other seafood dish, while my partnered ordered a charcuterie board along with a Mediterranean style flatbread. My dish was fantastic; the scallops were tender and large, and the mussels in the broth were fresh and seasoned well. She said that her flatbread was amazing and the charcuterie board was great too. They have live jazz on Thursdays I believe, which we definitely should go. All of the staff were wearing masks and gloves. read more

While the food was delicious overall, Cured Table and Tap is left patrons underfed and overcharged for the portions offered on the brunch menu. Our family ordered two of the small plates each to share - we tried the sliders, steak, chicken and waffles, quiche, eggs benedict, and shrimp &grits. Many of the small plates were palm size portions, leaving much to be desired. The service was excellent, and the bartenders nailed the Bloody Mary and Mimosas - in general, Cured Table and Tap is a great place to go for drinks and a snack, but perhaps not for a filling brunch. read more

My wife and I eat at Cured 3 or 4 times a week. Not only is the food good, but the sangria is the best I have EVER had! To put this in prospective, I lived in Spain for seven months and have traveled extensively throughout Central America and Mexico! Trust me, it's the best! read more

You know, when someone goes and eats somewhere and loves it, they tell you. And even when they tell you and describe it, it tastes better than what's described. That's how the food was here. Better than I was told it would be. Eric was amazing and so was the service. Those crispy Brussel sprouts were amazing!! I really enjoyed my first Cured experience! Having read previous reviews I feel like they've actually taken some of the constructive criticism into consideration and worked on the weaker points that yelpers have mentioned. Overall: Awesome service (thanks to Kat the best waitress of all time), extensive menu across the board, and most importantly good food that includes both classics and more creative options. The Good: We were here on a Friday night and it was packed. Luckily we got a high top without a problem. The service was on point. They made sure not to fire our entrees until we were done with our cheese board (definitely recommend) which is always appreciated. I had the sloppy joe grilled cheese. Yeah it sounds over the top and fattening but YOLO! Not many other places offer such a creation. It was so filling I only ate about a quarter of it and took the rest to go. Great the next day reheated on a cast iron! The Bad: The initial vibe is still a bit ADD mixed with a side of "huhhh?" as other yelpers have alluded to. You don't really get a clear identity of who they are and what they're about. It kind of feels like a DC restaurant that opened up in the wrong town. Also there are way too many menus going on. There's a cured menu, a raw menu, a cocktail menu, a dinner menu...so many menus my man didn't even notice the cured and raw menu at first. Our side of mac & cheese came out as a big blob. Disappointing, but they got us a new batch so that helped. The Ugly: Luckily nothing stood out here to reach my dreaded ugly section! Unless you factor in the women of Columbia who were here and Trying Way Too Hard. Aside from that, no major complaints! read more

Sooooo good! Wife and I had the clam chowder, PEI Mussels, The Dip, and the Pit Wings. Everything was super delicious! Definitely one of the best French dip sandwiches I've ever had before, and I order them almost any time I see them on a menu. Substituted fries with brussel sprouts and was amazed by how good the brussel sprouts were. They are glazed in a Thai chili sauce and are borderline addictive! Have only eaten outside during COVID and now that the temperatures aren't allowing that, I was going a little stir crazy. I made reservations, and when they called to confirm, I shared that I was a bit nervous because I have a serious medical condition. They said there were few reservations (it was a Sunday night) and they would note to put us at a corner table. Upon arrival, we were offered a private dining room. I felt so comfortable. Thank you so much! As for the food. Brussels sprouts were amazing. Fried catfish I can't recommend. Salad was huge. Crab cake was delicious and burger looked amazing. Well, that was...something. After a shorter-than-expected visit to Merriweather Post Pavilion I was in need for a nice "sit down" meal. From the outside, Cured Table & Tap looks like this satisfying experience. Upscale, large portions, thick food that can warm the soul. As soon as you sit down inside, you might find something different. First, I'd like to highlight some pleasantries. The waitstaff seems like they are training for a relay race than simply delivering written orders and food. They're constantly in demand of multiple tasks at the same time, and are making sure the baton is passed on to the correct cocktail connoisseur, kitchen worker, or staff member. My eyes could not stop darting around watching the flurry of activity. Waiters slinging drinks while simultaneously delivered food in the opposite hand while a waitress slips in real time on a spill happening at the bar. These people deserve a break, and not at broken back. Second, why is this environment seem so crazy? From my experience, our food did not come on time, or sometimes at all, which caused all this chaos. I could go into how the steak was undercooked or the fries were covered in an unpleasant spice not in the description, but instead I would like to just point my finger at the kitchen. Such an attentive waitstaff will always fail if the hands behind the food are not helping hands. The kitchen is the heart of the whole establishment, and it is definitely off beat. My advice to the establishment is re-concentrate on your kitchen, which will alleviate the front-of-house staff. I think the whole experience could be elevated to where it is intended to be. I don't think I'll ever be back, but I hope that Cured Table will turn around their kitchen, help balance out their staff, and tap into an audience that could become regular customers. read more

I've been coming here for awhile, I remember when they first opened and I have to say this place has one of the best customer service and selection of Whiskey and Bourbon in the Columbia area. I also want to say that one face that always greets me with a smile every time I walk through the door is the beautiful and radiant Pepper. She's dressed so stylish and has such a smile on her. I only go to a couple places in Baltimore and DC to eat and this is of course one of my treasured places I come when I'm relaxing in Columbia. I love the Jazz, and I love the bartenders and amazing waiters. But Pepper is one of the first people I see and last person I see when walking out the door. Loved the Sunday brunch "tapas like" menu. The breakfast burger sliders were full of flavor and tasted great. The chicken and waffles was average, but would recommend the silver dollar ricotta pancakes. The freshness of the ingredients was the star of the food here, plus the $15 all you can drink mimosas were delish (just the right mix of OJ and champagne). Went here for brunch. We've been to cured and 18th and 21st in the past but never for brunch. This was a rare opportunity for us to venture out eating indoors. Tables were spaced out enough where we didn't feel like we were on top of other tables. Our waitress wore gloves and a mask. The waitress nicely explained to us that the dishes were tapas style. We had the French toast sticks, frittata, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. The portions are incredibly small for why you get. $5 for a piece of French toast that I could make at home. It was a piece of bread cut into 4, nothing overtly amazing about it. The chicken and waffles was one note. I did like that it had gravy but the chicken and waffle were both soft and had the same texture, very one note. Again the portion for $9 was half a waffle and a bland, soft piece of chicken. No one ever came to check up on us throughout the meal to see how things turned out. The entire experience seemed unwelcoming. Would I go back to Cured? Sure but not for brunch and I won't be rushing back. read more

Met a few friends for a last min brunch outing. I ordered from the brunch menu and needless to say I was slightly disappointed when it came to the table. I wish I could tell you what it tasted like but as soon as it arrived I sent it back. It was 1/4 of a waffle with what looked like a chicken tender on top...like I literally out loud when it came. Now I'm not that person to send food back but I politely asked the server about why the portion size was so small. She informed me that it was tapas style which isn't a big deal but it would have made my decision making process different. So if you go know that some items are tapas size. Now this tapas chicken & waffle bite was around $10.00 which I think is ridiculously priced. Once again I did not see where delineated which was tapas and what was a full plate...so I decided on the steak and eggs....and advacado toast. Which was ok. Kinda hard to mess up over easy eggs...the steak was ok but it was more of a think steak steakem....the advacado toast was bland even with the feta they threw on top.....I also had the bottomless mimosa which were ok as well. My two friends ordered the salmon wrap which was a good size and the Brussels sprouts. Not sure if I was just hungry but the Brussel sprouts were really tasty and smothered in some type of sweet sauce ..almost toooo sweet but they were yummy. Ok I'm going to end on a positive note...the birthday donuts were delightful..a bit overcooked but really tasty and our server was super sweet and very attentive. We had a very enjoyable dinner here with some family a few weeks ago. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff and a spotless environment. We were seated in the bar area, where there were rows of hightop tables between the bar and the more-formal dining room. The environment was open and modern. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and the asparagus salad. Both dishes were thoroughly enjoyable, although I would've liked more spice on the hot chicken (or an option for hot sauce on the side). The fries that came with the sandwich were addictive. I also got to try the beet salad (delicious) and the Cured Burger (great flavors, but maybe slightly too much tomato jam). I also enjoyed two cocktails - the Doctor's Orders and the In the Conservatory. Both were fabulous and could've come straight from a fancy cocktail bar! In addition, we felt that the service was solid. We appreciated she walked us through the menu and was unafraid to give recommendations. In my opinion, Columbia doesn't have enough unique dining concepts - but Cured is among the restaurants that are changing that image! I could picture myself eating here pretty regularly if I lived in the area. I also LOVED the concept of the speakeasy in the back and can't wait to check out that side of the restaurant. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner. I ordered two appetizers - jackfruit taco and tuna tartare /avocado. For the main entree I went with crab cakes. They were out of most of the few appetizers they offered so I ended up with only one of the two appetizers.. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular but I must admit, the jackfruit taco was pretty good. The portions were so small that even if I had that second appetizer with the main entree , i Would've still left hungry. We called ahead of time To make arrangements for storing the cake we were bringing. Never during the several phone conversations did they mention there would be an extra charge for bringing our own cake. The server told us after we got there that there would be a $3.00 charge per person (we were in a party of 17) for bringing our own cake. Are you kidding me? If they mentioned it when we called ahead of time , it wouldn't be an issue. BUT They never mentioned anything about it!!!!! The food was ok, service was slow as hell and I left hungrier than when I came in. As a matter of fact, we went to another restaurant afterwards bc most of us left hungry. Tried this spot for brunch with my husband, our 6 month old, and my friend and her boyfriend. We had a 12:15 reservation which I made on the phone. It was confirmed via email and the Resy Reservation system, but then cancelled. I received a text to confirm or cancel and I replied with confirm so it was odd when my friend said it was cancelled. I also got an email that it had been cancelled after I had confirmed via text. The place was not very busy so it wasn't a problem but it was still strange. They do note on their website to allow for extra time for parking when nearby Merriweather has concerts. Almost all of the spots in the garage were blocked off, and level 2 is where you get off on the elevator to access the restaurant, not level 1 like one would think. Also the entrance along Little Patuxent is locked, and the entrance is in the back by the parking garage. Kind of a wild goose chase to find. Our server was great, I forgot her name but she is of African American descent. She could read our table and that we needed more time and also answered any questions about the menu. The food portions are tapas style, and we ordered a few things. My husband and I got the French toast sticks (3 each), the fingerling potato side dish, and the breakfast pizza. The other couple ordered steak, chicken and waffles, and oysters. The oysters were delicious! We got 4 choptanks, blue points, and I forgot the other one but they were briny and tasty! Our friends ordered the donut of the day which was delicious. There were maybe 5 mini donuts deep fried to perfection in a cute little basket. The cocktails were decent, we ordered tequila (feeling hot hot hot), the Paloma drink, and bloody Mary's. I would try it for dinner. Went for dinner for the first time tonight and had a great experience. Our waiter Matt was very personable and all of his recommendations were spot on. The time between appetizers, entree and dessert was good as you got to enjoy the wine and evening. We started with the mussels which were cooked in a butter wine broth which i drank after we finished the mussels because it was so good. Service was nice; we were seated pretty quickly for a Friday night. The interior and decorating was cute and trendy in a modern Industrial kind of way. That's about it though. Our main entree was truly, truly disgusting. $24 for the Mushroom Stroganoff, which came out plated beautifully and tasted like someone had tried to heat up dirty pipe water. It was a ball of submerged, overdone pepparadelle pasta soaking in basically hot mushroom dish water. The mushrooms were bobbing around in the salty slop, and they had garnished the dish randomly with a few leaves of spinach. It was so bad that I split half with my boyfriend, and neither of us took more than a few bites before feeling queasy from all the salt water that was meant to be stroganoff gravy. We split the fried chicken livers and the roasted bone marrow. The fried chicken was pretty good; not out of this world, but good nonetheless. The bone marrow was good, but super tiny portions. More bone than any marrow. We rounded everything off with the charcuterie selection, which was just okay. Boyfriend got the Smoked Old Fashion, one of the signature drinks, which ended up being a glass of water with a splash of whiskey and zero hint of smoke. The following week 1 of my nieces and I went back for brunch (i love brunches). Once again I wasn't disappointed from the service to the meals all A+. I love the small plates.... my favorite so far are the shrimp & grits and the sausage sliders. After our meal we moved to the bar, where they have featured tasty cocktails on draft along with some beers. The staff was friendly and open to give suggestions. Some friends and I had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Cured, the Sunday before the New Year, what a great find!!! We had 12 noon reservations and were seated right away. The restaurant is located at the bottom of an office/retail building with a free parking garage connected to the building, so convenient! Cured as well as 18th & 21st both have amazing ambiance, we all loved it. The service was great, Bridgette our server was top notch. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. We enjoyed everything we ate. The shrimp and grits, the bacon, the duck sticky buns, the fried french toast sticks, the donut of the day, the fennel cured salmon, the eggs benedict, the creamed chip beef, the chicken and waffles and for dessert, the bread pudding. We left nothing on our plates and if we weren't so stuffed, we would've eaten more. To make it even more exciting, during brunch there's a buy one, get one free special on Mimosas and Blood Mary's. We tried Cured for the first time today for lunch. The food was wonderful. We had the Cheeseburgers with the works (bacon, avocado and a fried egg) and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both were very good. The signature Old Fashion drink was good too. They take great precautions with distancing without impacting the atmosphere. Our server Eric explained the menu and was wonderful! Patty and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to try other things from the menu. We had a sneak peek into the connected live music lounge named 18 & 21. First time here and we love it. We haven't had food this good in a long time. Oysters on the half shell and tuna tartare were very tasty. Charcuterie board had smoked duck that they make in house. Didn't want to try hit but ended up loving it. For our entrees we selected the scallops, lamb chops, wedge salad and strawberry fennel salad with salmon. There was nothing left on our plates and no take home boxes. Absolutely delicious. Creme brulee and apple cobbler topped off the night. We can't wait to go back! read more
