Eight of us [including 2 little kids] enjoyed Saturday morning brunch, including steak sandwich, berry pancakes, ricotta toast, caesar wrap, etc. Place was quite busy for 11am Saturday, but our server Daphney was very pleasant and efficient - a real standout. The caesar wrap was especially good, but the corned beef was unlike anything we've had. Though tasty, it is presented as cubes of beef and potatoes, rather than ground or chopped into small pieces. Drinks were good, especially the bloody mary, except a vodka gimlet came out as vodka on the rocks with a slice of lime. Have to mention the exceptionally comfortable chairs - nice touch. We went to Cured Table and Tap last night with friends and had an amazing experience. The service was great (attentive without being intrusive). While our waiter was new he was very good. This was our first time at Cured and it won't be out last. We made reservations and ate outside. The charcuterie board was was very tasty and the shrimp specials were wonderful; I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the grilled creole shrimp. This was my second visit to Cured. Both experiences were great. I got the Cured Burger - it was cooked exactly to my request (medium) and was delivered with nice presentation. In short, food was fine, but overpriced. Service was very slow. I live and work in Columbia, and I know it is expensive. Cured, however, seems to want to be a hip DC bar, and is priced accordingly. The food was good, the burger might even be called exceptional with its blend of meats, but not worth the price. For a place that has "tap" in the name, the number of beers on tap were underwhelming. I'll probably come back to try 18th&21st for a special occasion, but for bar fare, I'll stick to the Alehouse or Frisco's. read more

These guys are making a great effort under these dire circumstances. We got the family meal to go last Friday night, and it was very good. The creole pasta was fantastic, and really could have fed more than the stated four. It was a bit of a creeper; the heat from the peppers and sauce steadily grew as we ate. The shrimp and sausage had just the right amount of heat. Not overpowering, just great taste with a kick. The bread and herbed butter and the dressing for the salad were both spot on. This was probably my last restaurant outing with Covid ticking back up. And a wonderful last meal it was. Great food, great drinks, quiet night and great service. My only one note (which is no fault of staff) is the lack of masks from staff and diners coming in. I didn't even realize until I sat down and looked at the bartenders who were all without them. I cane here for brunch with a friend and was sadly disappointed with the food. The service was great! Our server made sure our bottomless mimosas were never empty. We ordered the pancakes, breakfast pizza, avocado salad and frittata of the day. First off the pancakes were hard! It was difficult to cut through then with a knife! I'm not even sure how a pancake gets that hard if they are cooked fresh. The frittata was very bland and the vegetables were not the best inside a frittata. The salad was okay but a little underdressed. For an avocado salad it only had one piece of avocado. The breakfast pizza was okay but nothing special. read more

When I looked over Cured's menu, I knew immediately that I had to go. Why? Three words: roasted bone marrow. I've never had it before and I saw an opportunity. Darn right I was going to take it. Service was spot-on, the airy venue was pleasant (and quiet for a Saturday night! Probably the rain.), my cocktail was excellent (In the Conservatory, made with chartreuse), and my dish was everything I dreamed it would be. The bone marrow, served with what looked like a layer of herbed breadcrumbs, was meaty and melted in my mouth. It came with garlic crostini, pickled red onions, and a side salad of greens with a mustardy-tasting vinaigrette. This place has a casual atmosphere with an interesting and unique menu. The cheese plate and Himalayan sea salt salmon as appetizers were amazing. I had the mushroom stroganoff for dinner and the root beer float for dessert. I'll definitely be back on my next business trip. read more

I went for a Sunday brunch. I ordered a rose sangria, salmon BLT and the bread of the day. The food was delicious. Great portion size, very flavorful. Nice setting and location. Service was fast and pleasant. Surprised at the lack of variety with teas (only 1 option), lack of variety for dairy alternatives - milk, that's it. Everything was enjoyable. Friend green tomatoes could have been a buck or two less... our appetizer was more than our entrees. That being said, we did order a salad and a sandwich for dinner. $12 for three pieces. The breading and cheese were done well. Caesar salad was very good. Cheese was plentiful and not over dressed. Be careful to not add extra pepper until you check the salad out. I love pepper and usually add extra. Not to this one. Sloppy Joe grilled cheese was a prov/cheddar mix on sourdough. There was a good amount of stuff in the sandwich. It wasn't too greasy. The side of fruit that it came with was a good size. Our friends got some curried lentils and a burger. They enjoyed both, but the lentils were a bit steep. $19? All in all a good meal with solid service. Most entrees were priced much higher than the sandwiches we ordered. I don't think it's better than Victoria, with similar fare. If it's my choice I'll head to Victoria next time, but I wouldn't turn down a dinner date from another couple if they wanted to go to Cured. read more

Where do I start?! The staff was so accommodating; I was able to secure a reservation for a large birthday party [of 10] with just a few days notice. The staff had a very nice separate space for our group which made us feel even more special. The appetizers, the drinks, the entrees, AND the desserts were all so amazing. So let's talk about Cured... the food was so good I didn't even make it to take a picture. I started off with the wings and a cider. The wings have a glaze on them and are the perfect size and amount they're layered on top of potato salad which is way better than expected. I hosted a private birthday dinner here this past weekend and my experience was nothing short than Amazing. The events manager Patti set the tone with walking me through everything and making sure I was happy with the menu and price point, she welcomed all of my changes with no problem. The day of the staff was very friendly and willing to help and service my guests and I with no hesitation. Everyone liked the the food and some were even asking for information to host their future events there. I would definitely recommend for private events or just casual dining. read more

First, it took forever for someone to come and take our drink order even though there were many staff members doing basically nothing. We finally got our drinks and then it took forever for someone to take our food order. We ordered an appetizer along with our meals. We waited and waited and the appetizer never showed up and it took forever to get any food to our table. The entrées came before the appetizer. I ordered the gnocchi and it was not gnocchi at all. It was rotini pasta which is not gnocchi in anyway. I would've sent it back but we were running late and had to be somewhere so I ate it but I was very unhappy about it being rotini pasta and not gnocchis. My husband sandwich was only subpar. The appetizer which was wings was just OK. This used to be where we would go before concerts at Meriwether but no more. We had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of this exciting new addition to Columbia and to say that we were all very impressed would be an understatement. The layout of the restaurant is open and welcoming and the friendly and professional staff is there to answer any questions that you may have. They have an excellent selection of spirits and have a delectable cocktail menu to select from. Lots of beers on tap and vino by the glass or bottle available. They have a nice long bar that seats plenty. The food, oh boy... we sampled quite a few things as our table shared a number of items. Of the items we tried recommended are the marrow, the coconut braised short rib, the spiced spring chicken, the pan salmon, the lentil curry, the root beer float, and creme brulee. Because it was a soft opening some items were not available but I place my bet that they will be just as scrumptious as what we did get to try. We are sure to return to try the other items. Been twice and can't wait to go back to try everything else. My favorite items were the bone marrow which is topped with breadcrumbs and served atop some dressed greens with crispy capers and pickled red onion, mushroom soup with goat cheese and preserved lemon garnish, and the crispy curried Brussels sprouts with crispy garbanzo beans. Our servers were Alex and Hannah and they were both friendly and attentive without being too casual. Hannah helped me pick out a sour beer (much to my delight, they offered several!). I like the food here but I have been consistently disappointed by the strange service here. The first time I went, I was alone, and the people at the front looked at me very strangely, like they didn't understand why I was there. (I dress just fine.) Most every time I went, I get seated, and it takes upwards of 15 minutes for a waiter to even come around, ask me if I want anything to drink, and take my order. The food is great but comes out unpredictably. Sometimes it's a normal restaurant wait, sometimes it might seem like they lost the order, and this is usually at a time when it's not busy at all. One time I was being handled awkwardly by two waiters. It seemed like they were bored because it was near empty? But it was just this strange feeling like multiple people were watching over me like hawks while I ate; I just wanna eat my food, maybe give my compliments, pay and leave. We went here for the first time tonight and were not disappointed. Our server, Cat, took care out of our group of about 10 people in the bar area and she was the best. So friendly, fun, and accommodating. I ordered a Long Island (because I'm a basic bitch) and even though it wasn't on the drink menu she came back with her own delicious LIIT creation for me. Made reservations for two on Friday night. We were seated at a high top. The restaurant is pretty and VERY WELL LIT (better for lunches, not so much for a night out drinking). The high tops were a bit close together, to where you felt like you were dining with the people next to you. Servers were nice. The food was delicious. Was worried that it was going to be a little cheesy trying to mimic the style of some NYC "hipster" bars, but had an excellent lunch there. Excellent local craft beer selection with some names you definitely will not recognize. Plenty of creative cocktails as well. Menu is very small with limited vegetarian options, but is supplemented with specials. I think they'll be able to nail down a few big staples over the next couple of months like their Po' Boy and fried chicken sandwich. Side of brussel sprouts was stellar and would highly recommend grabbing those next time they're a special. I didn't get the chance to try it, but it looks like they have a pretty well-developed charcuterie bar where they cut everything right in front of you and raw bar. This is the perfect place for grabbing a drink and appetizer there before (or after) any Merriweather concerts. It has a much nicer vibe and better food/drink than Union Jack's. I think it will appeal more for the 30+ concert crowd who are willing to pay a few bucks extra for a much better experience. Menu is easy to navigate and it overwhelming. Offered good entree, sandwich, and salad options. Steak was a bit over cooked once it arrived at the table but still delicious. Went there for a birthday dinner for my homeboy. I had salmon over cauliflower noodles. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Not too hard and very moist. For dessert I had the bread pudding with ice cream and that was simply delicious. I am not a big dessert guy when I dine out but I would order it everytime.
