Came from SC, happened to see the shop, by far the best "hotdogs" we've ever had. They're not served on hotdog buns but a fluffy roll because by the time they add all the ingredients it's basically a sub, with a hotdog in the middle. Absolutely fantastic.

I'm from California and this spot was recommended on TikTok. We are visiting for the fanboy expo. It is generally hard to find good tasting, quality food. It was a really good hot dog! I was simple on mine with ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers, and tater tots. 10/10. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's a little on the pricy end, my hot dog alone was about 11$.

This place ROCKS. From the super nice staff that want to help you find the right pick for you to the tasty souped-up, gourmet dogs, Curious Dog is a must visit. I ordered two thinking I could get through them like regular dogs but they are thick and heavy- thank goodness they have to-go boxes. It's a neat little spot with multiple coolers full of beer and specialty sodas that make me want to come back for more.

Better Than a Chicago Hot Dog Combo Jetty Hot Dog Combo

I consider myself a hotdog connoisseur, and this was by far the best hotdog I have ever eaten! I had the "Better than a Chicago" and my wife had the "Jetty" and she loved hers as well!! Fun little shop, worth the $10 parking down the road.

Great place, they load you up in fries (never a bad thing but could be a main meal by itself) 10/10

was curious about this hot dog shop... The place has pretty cool interior decor and a cool location. The menu is vast andaybe a little too vast which makes it hard to decide what to pick. I had the Philly cheese dog which was really good - like the deep fried dogs - the fries were ok - was expecting more from the fresh cut potatoes. My only complaint is The service was bad - they were so busy making door dash orders and kind of ignore you. Might stop in to try a sandwich in the future but no rush...

The food here is AMAZING! The staff is so helpful- they know the menu like the back of their hand which was super helpful when picking out what to get! They make all their sauces in house, which makes such a difference! By far the best french fries I've ever had! Good music, good people, the place is a vibe! A MUST TRY IF IN THE AREA

The bun I had to pick off one end to even find the first bite of the hot dog

I have been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it and every time I drive by I don't have time but I finally had time to stop and get a Hot dog. It was 799 for a hot dog with ketchup, mustard, pickle, relish and onion. 650 more for fries than a drink plus tip and tax was ridiculous because my fries were about 2 in long. Like just a bunch of crappy end pieces. Maybe a couple or 3 in Long? I wish I would have taken a picture at the beginning. The lady said our hot dogs are quarter pound. They're really big blah blah blah. That's why they're so expensive. I asked if they could roll it around on the grill and get it a little charcoaly but she said oh we deep fry them well it wasn't even crispy on the outside. It was just like they dipped it in some grease and for people who are vegans I wouldn't eat their fries cuz they further hot dog the same thing. They fry their french fries in. For her talking about how great and how big this hot dog was. There was an inch on each end of the bun. I had to pick off to even get to the hot dog and the other end. I took a picture so you could see there is an inch of bun with no hot dogs so the hot dog wasn't that big and it was not worth that much money. So don't waste your time or your money. It wasn't that great of a hot dog.

The curious dog has a unique interior with a ton of options for food and drink. The menu is definitely overwhelming but the staff were very patient in allowing people to order. I tried the Lafayette dog which is topped with creole chow chow, Thai peanut sauce, tomatoes, and Düsseldorf mustard. The Lafayette dog was good but the chow chow didn't blow me away. I upgraded my combo with tater tots for an extra charge, but the tots were very good. So the price is maybe a little higher than I would expect to pay. The hot dog combo with an upgrade to tater tots plus a decent tip cost me about $21. I will add that the hot dogs do come pretty loaded up. (So don't expect to look cute while eating here). I plan to come back to explore the menu some more.

The food is good and fresh. It is counter service but they are helpful and patient. The menu is extensive and I would strongly suggest reviewing prior to being in front of cashier taking your order. My wife had the NYC Dawg while I had the Ben Stellar sandwich we shared truffle fries which we could have shared with 2 more addition dinners but we did not finish those. We got two of the exotic sodas from the cooler and dined in their bohemian atmosphere Over all it was a good experience parking is difficult and it's not a place to eat if you are on a budget but a good once a month place.

If you like hotdogs at all but especially unique hotdogs.. this is the place! Curious dog is tucked away in downtown Knoxville & has more of a beer counter vibe than a restaurant. The food here is delicious they have some of the best hotdogs and truffle fries in town. It's a bit pricy, BUT it's worth it when you leave feeling full & satisfied.

This is one of the best hot dog/deli shops in Knoxville. I would give them 10 stars if it was an option.

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.

My buddy opted for the Spicy Smash. The burgers were mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm great, Juicy and the bun held up. Fries were fresh and would like to see maybe a topping or poutine option for them. SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!
