I have passed by this place for years and always wanted to try it and just haven't but we went today and everything was absolutely amazing !! Being greeted with excitement and smiling faces was just the start of it, we ordered a double cheeseburger, a Philly cheesesteak, and a delicious gyro. The food exceeded expectations so much that I forgot to take pics for this review. The menu has so many options as well as delicious shakes (strawberry was soooo good) if yall haven't given this place a try, then you are most def missing out. Didn't even meant to go there, just happened to drive by, saw Freezo and had to stop! Never seen such a slice of Americana! Freezo rules, but most importantly Rachael!! She is the coolest person we have met in Tennessee and just awesome inside and out! It was such so nice to be greeted with such warmth, great customer service and hilarious banter! Pretty good ice cream but the let down was not having many options for their Fantasy's. The fantasies are like a Dairy Queen blizzard but not as good. Limited options for mix ins and they don't even have this on the menu for customers to see and order, I had to ask about it because it was nowhere to be found. There is also only One size but it's a decent amount for the price. Not everyone likes chocolate candy bar mix ins for ice cream. This place is everything that is wrong with small businesses. Some businesses stay small for a reason. 1) No longer have foot long corn dogs which was a signature item. Would cost $5 just to get two regular ones much less any other food. 2) No prices on menu-at all. Shady way to do business. 3) Food is overpriced. 4) Cash only. 5) Close early. This is about 5 minutes from my house. They're open from about 10am-6pm and I believe do mostly lunch for the local businesses around Central as well as the people from the neibourhood. Have a few picnic tables outside, a walk up window and drive through on the side. Not that they usually take long for your order (it IS fast food after all) but you can call it in for instant pickup when you get there. They also take plastic as well as cash. They have excellent burgers, dogs and shakes. They also had (or have, not sure) really good tamales. The fries are decent but I think the burgers are way better. The frito chili pie is killer as well. Good floats as well, not sure about the rest of the stuff on the menu yet, but in a few months I'll try it all. Not the cheapest place around (not that expensive either, but I believe most chains you can eat a little cheaper depending on selection) , but it's close for me and the food is good. The staff (normally 2 people best I can tell) are always both very friendly. Freezo is a instant time warp though, when you're placing your order at the window it's easy to forget what century you're in. Sonic could only hope for that vibe. read more

I can only comment on the two orders I have had there (Lemon Lime Slush and a Vanilla cone with hardshell chocolate on it) but I have been impressed. Also this place gets high marks by the Health Dept. I have heard their burgers are good and I have been meaning to try them, but I am rarely on that side of town. The Original Freeze is one of my summer traditions! It's walking distance from my house. My tastebuds think this is wonderful, my hips aren't quite as sure. While the Freezo serves up classic drive-in burgers, hot dogs, and a few random surprises on their menu, I have never ventured from their ice cream menu. Part of this is because...well...why would I? Another part is because the ice cream portions that you receive are easily the size of a meal. I mean, seriously, their large milkshake is 32 ounces. You read that correctly: 32 ounces. One of my favorites on the menu is their dipped cones. It's a classic, but this year they got all wild and crazy and added all kinds of flavors so there are like a billion different combinations. My favorite (of the moment) is the soft served chocolate cone dipped in peanut butter. They have malts. They have shakes. They have sundaes that make the perfect dinner. I know...I've done it, and I feel no shame. There are a few tables outside under a beautiful shade tree, but that's the only seating that they offer. If you plan on grabbing food on the go, they also have a drive through. The staff is always so, so nice and offer up your order pretty quickly. I really really love this place. I hope they're in business forever. The vanilla soft serve tastes exactly the same Dairy Queen - back in the '80s. It's definitely real sugar. Order at the window - the service is fine - and sit at one of the few picnic tables at the edge of the parking lot in back - or take it with you if you can eat that cone before it melts in the heat of your car. Sadly, this type of establishment is a dying breed, which is really too bad because the food is good. Great burgers, fries, dogs, shakes and the star of the show, soft serve custard, is excellent. The food is decent at best... They have a basic, old school grill menu... Burgers, shakes, hot dogs, fries. Don't expect a healthy option. Milkshakes are good, though made from soft serve ice cream. The peanut butter chocolate malt is my favorite. Occasionally I find myself swinging over there for a couple of chili dogs for lunch. They are basic, but delicious. The onion rings are yummy too. Cash only!!! No indoor seating... But a really nifty tree out back provides shade over some concrete tables. And they have a drive through. I noticed while glancing into the window that the employee was touching my banana with her bare hands... with the peel off. My boyfriend saw the employees pick up his fries with their bare hands too.
