Looking for a curly hair cut, individualized to you in a warm and inviting space? This is your spot. Chantell did such a fantastic job with my long, thick and wavy hair. During the pandemic, I started experimenting with using products and not straightening my hair. I started to notice more wave to my hair but because it's so heavy, it would often dry straight, especially in the front. I'm a little late to the game but after so many videos, special towels and products, I mostly had figured out what hadn't worked on my hair. Chantell spent time talking with me to understand what I wanted (to reduce some of the weight without removing too much length because I plan to donate my hair) and what I'd learned about my hair. In addition to the cut, she offered suggestions for different products based on what had and hadn't worked for me. She even showed me some curl training techniques that I've been using ever since. I booked a cut with Chantell in hopes of getting my confidence back and embracing my natural hair. I was holding onto damaged hair for years but didn't feel confident wearing my hair in anything other than protective styles. It took a lot of going back and forth before ultimately deciding I was ready for a change. I had a lot of questions before booking but Chantell was helpful and quick on advising me on the right services. The studio is located in Beverly Hills - parking is $4 with validation but if you get lucky there is street parking as well. It's on the first floor of an office building with easy access. As soon as I arrived, I was in love with her cute setup & nice music. She has plenty of space for you to set down your things and get comfortable. She was so nice and easy to talk to which helped me feel less nervous and ready for this new change! I appreciated that she really walked me through every bit of the process as she was cutting my hair and made me feel involved in how much was being cut. I was probably one of Chantells most difficult assignments! I have naturally curly hair, but I have been somewhat lazy and stopped maintaining properly for about a year which allowed it to form free form dread loccs that were pretty long. I wanted to switch back from dread loccs to curls, without having to completely buzz cut my hair - meaning I would need someone to undo/cut each single dread (there were a lot). Chantell knew this would be hard task, but willingly accepted the challenge and after 2 visits, she was able to undo/cut my dreads and get my curls back! I was pretty impressed.
