I actually came in during my birthday early in the day without an appointment but I was lucky enough to have another customer cancel. I've had multiple friends talk about Current Tattooing and they told me to ask for Cory Goodmorning. I spent a decent amount of money on my tattoo, it took at least 25-30 mins for me to get tattooed. Shop is extremely clean and tidy. Nothing went wrong, best if you make an appointment cause I got lucky when I got it on my birthday. I'm planning on getting another tattoo done by Cory Goodmorning. I honestly was happy with my tattoo. He was pretty helpful in giving his own opinion on how to tattoo on me. We're out of towners so he was super willing to work with our schedule, which was very nice. When we arrived, he showed the drawing to me and then made sure to show my wife and get her approval too which was super cool. I sat with him for almost 4 hours and the outcome was STUNNING. I had a tall order for him of producing a traditional Native American girl with the added challenge of having her face look like my wife's face. He delivered, man. The piece is absolutely beautiful. I really didn't want to leave a bad review but after a couple months of getting my tattoo from Casey I realized he didn't do a very good job.. I still have bruising around my tattoo and it's been 6 months. I have a small scar in the middle of my tattoo that still hurts, it healed after a couple months but because he went in to deep into the skin it hurts a little here and there. Got a very scratchy and deep tattoo from Corey; he insisted on being hard handed and rough...awful. The squeezed and manhandled my arm way beyond what needed to be done and it made me uncomfortable. He seemed angry. He said a woman's body needs only large tattoos or else it will look scribbled on. I was referred to Che by my Aunt because I wanted a portrait tattoo, and I am extremely happy with what he created. He has also done a back piece on my cousin. My ideas were all over the place. He was able to sketch a beautiful portrait/headdress tattoo from a picture I gave him. I had a specific idea in my head, and his tattoo surpassed that. This is my fifth and largest tattoo; however, it was the least painful. I had two sessions with Che. He gave me breaks whenever I needed them, and he was very flexible with my schedule. All are very friendly and more than happy to talk about a rad piece. It's extremely clean and there's always fun conversations going on. Great atmosphere, people, and professionalism! I walked in after reviewing this Yelp page for CT and asked who could help me with an idea I have. Che was perfect for it, got me in right away and did a great job. Gave me all the info I needed since it's my first real tattoo, and had pleasant chit-chat with me during the process to distract me from the pain. Can't recommend this place enough. Prices are fair, everybody's friendly, and I'll definitely come back for more designs I want. (Parking isn't great but nothing is in the Alameda area so I'm not counting it against my rating.) Came in here for a tattoo with Ike. Walked in one day showed him exactly what I wanted. Went back two days later sat in the chair for 2.5 hours (+45 minutes of minor changes and to make sure the design flowed well with my oddly shaped forearm) and I had an amazing Deep Purple galaxy colored arm band and symbol of my choice(upside down black triangle). Ike is an amazing artist and I am so glad I trusted him with tattooing me with this design that means so much to me. He was great to chat with as well. The shop. SUPER clean and LARGE. Two areas. One in the front and a massive area in the back. Cost: Appointments have a small deposit(Mine was $50 I left $100..again at the time I got the tattoo) and it goes towards your tattoo. Its around $150 an hour (at the time I got the tattoo). Parking: Street parking is limited(AKA prepare to walk). I walked since its across the street from the area where I live. read more

I came here for a cover up of a tattoo that I had tried to laser off for several years. I wasn't happy with the outcome of the laser treatments and after a year of not doing them, I finally decided to look into covering it and someone recommended Current Tattooing. I had an idea of what I wanted and after going in and being welcomed in, I started to look at the books and I came upon Kory Buck's. I am so happy to have met him. He is a very nice guy and his work is amazing. I gave him two pictures of what I was looking at and when I finally came in for my appointment, he had drawn a mixture of the two along with things that he added to it. I trusted him completely and I am beyond happy I did. I absolutely love the outcome. I had a great experience at Current Tattoo with Daniel Dagones. The shop is conveniently located in San Jose near a lot of open street parking, and inside it's clean and spacious. I love that each artist has their own station where some of their designs and artwork hang. For my first consultation, I was greeted and helped almost immediately as I walked in the door. Daniel was professional, welcoming, and clearly excited to do some good work. I was extremely pleased with the tattoo process and the final product. While I was getting tattooed, plenty of Daniel's co-workers stopped by to see what he was working on - this made me appreciate the collegiality and overall good vibes of the shop. At a few points, the owner of the shop stopped by as well, which I think demonstrated the thoughtfulness and strong customer service of the shop. I just had a tattoo done by Kory Buck!! He's really nice and he did an amazing job! My boyfriend and I just did a walk-in and he warmly accepted us. I showed him pictures of what I wanted for my tattoo and he happily listened to me and he even made suggestions! Also, he was very accomodating when it came to pricing. They charge $150/hr but my tattoo only took about 30 mins so he lowered it down to $80. I already had a tattoo done from some other shop and i was so disappointed at how it turned out. But Kory did a great re-touch and i'm just so so thankful!! The other tattoo artists are really friendly too and the whole shop is clean and has a great vibe overall. So I needed a cover up done I came to this shop because of the good reviews. I met with Cory Goodmorning explained to him what i wanted to do with my tattoo and he shared ideas with me as well. So with the good vibes I went ahead and scheduled my appt with him for 7/8/2014 (which is today) I waited a whole month to have this done and was really excited only to be DISSED. Since it's been almost a month and I have not heard from him I decided to send him a text on Saturday to confirm. He did not reply so i figured it's the holiday weekend he will prob call me Sunday but Nope i didn't receive a call or a reply. So Monday I called him and left a message, once again to Confirm Tues appt and still did not recieve a call back or text. Well today is suppose to be the day and still haven't heard from him!!!!! No call No text to reschedule absolutely nothing.... Very unprofessional on his behalf. She gave me a recommendation for 3 of the artists there and after looking through all of their work my style of art fell squarely with Cory McKague. My mother has brain cancer and we wanted something special. When I was little my mom found 2 baby Robins and we raised them together until they were ready to fly away. Robins signify family and my Mom and I are best of friends and family. Cory was super awesome and very fast! Cory Goodmorning is amazing. I have two small tattoos - both done by him. His calm demeanor was perfect for me for my first time years ago! When I was ready for my second tattoo, he was more than happy to do it for me. He made sure that I knew that the placement of my tattoo would mean that I would be more uncomfortable during my session. Prior to the session, he took time to make sure he got my design write and the font sizing perfect. He printed out multiple font sizes to make sure the text was exactly what I wanted. During the session, he made sure I was comfortable and okay. He asked if I needed a break. Post tattoo, he made sure that I knew exactly how to take care of my tattoo to make sure that it would last. I'm writing another review for this shop and want to specify that the shop itself isn't the problem. The problem is one employee that goes by Che or Chi. This guy is a terrible tattooist and has no business sense and doesn't have any concern for his customers. He did a terrible disservice to me and didn't even give me any chance to explain my problem with his work! He flakes out on several attempts by me to have him look at the work he did! Here I am two years later with an awful blob on my arm that is so bad that no other shop is willing to try to fix! This guy should be fired from working at this shop or suffer for keeping him! Hands down my new favorite shop in SJ. The shop is very clean and nicely laid out with dope art work all around as you would expect. I went in last week just looking to book an appointment but left that day with my favorite piece and my favorite tattoo experience thus far. As soon as I entered I was greeted by one of the crew (whose name I'm blanking on, sorry man) then introduced to Skylar. I showed him what I wanted and after 5 mins of fine tuning the details he started working on the sketch. I left to grab a bite to eat and an hour later I was in the chair getting tattooed. After maybe an hour of good conversation I was done and the result was better than I had envisioned in my head. I would of paid double for what he charged me but I'm thankful he didn't! Got my very first tattoo here on 8/22/12 by Jason "Sphinx". I had been at SJ Tattoo earlier in the day and was not having a good experience so my friends started looking elsewhere to get this done. Found Current on Yelp and my best friend called & Jason said they could do it even though it was 20 min before their closing time. We went over there and the shop was really nice, bright and the people were very friendly. Showed Jason what I wanted and he just had me sign the paperwork and got everything ready. He let my mom come and sit with me during the tattoo process and he made me feel totally at ease being that this was my 1st one and I was really nervous, hands were shaking and everything. The pain wasn't bad at all in the beginning and didn't get bad until the end of the tattoo. He talked me through it and was very friendly, I definitely felt comfortable with him. I am so very grateful he fit us in. I needed this done on August 22nd and before finding this place was terrified it wouldn't happen. Aug 22nd would've been mine and my boyfriends 7 year anniversary but he passed away suddenly in April 2012 - I wanted to do something on our anniversary to remind me of everything I've been through. I chose Strength because it's taken a lot of it to get through losing the love of my life at 24 years old. It also will help remind me in the future that when times are hard I've been through worse. I was introduce to this place by Ike Greca has done most of my tattoos. So when he moved location of course as a happy client I followed. Ike is able to draw what I want with little explanations and he is a mastermind behind the needle.The tattoos that I have receive from Ike are varies pieces around my arm typically japanese style and a calligraphy piece on my chest. I love them to death and am never afraid to show them off at parties as ice breakers. The shop itself has a friendly atmosphere, plenty of space, and extraordinary collection of art. I love my tattoo artist Ikke and Current Tattoo! Ikke was recommended to me by a friend after I saw one of her pieces done. Ikke and I emailed each other for about 2 months while we went over the design I wanted and hammered things out. He was so nice and chill about everything and I was completely confident in him by the time we'd actually met. My first piece with him was a replication of a drawing my son did for me as well as a cover up of another tattoo. Ikke made sure to keep the tat exactly as my son did it, and it was beautiful!!! I got my first tattoo here last month. I worked with Ike, who is absolutely amazing. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met! I gave him the concept for my tattoo and one picture of a raven that I liked and he ran with it and came up with an awesome design. I told him I wanted to incorporate the number 425 into it and he learned all about ravens and how they build their nests and came up with the idea for the pencil. He knew it was my first tattoo and that I was a wuss about it so he kept everything light hearted throughout the three hours (3 hours!!!) and gave me breaks when I needed it. Though it had been about a month between our initial meeting and the tattooing, he remembered a lot about me and showed that he really took care of his customers. I highly recommend working with Ike. My friend and I stopped in here on a whim to get some drop-in tattoos, no major projects, just some fun. The tattooist was great - Cory. He was able to take us right back, they had enough artists around to accommodate walk-ins easily. The shop itself was nice, plenty of seating in the wait area, very clean.
