we can't recommend Jon and Matt enough. We moved from CA and have a very particular style - modern, clean and a little more resort style. Nothing like you normally see here in NC. I was thrilled to come across Currin Design when I was looking for designers for our new home because it fit our style exactly. I hope you are doing better work then you did on ours. We really liked you guys and trusted you. I asked you for brightly colored flowering plants including hibiscus and they all bloomed white. The bark was spread too thin and has been a mess. The cloth underneath was poorly laid. You said you came back out and put more but we could not see it or either you didn't come. We have always done our own yard, but this was supposed to be a treat to both of us, it has turned into a major headache. read more

I cannot express how incredibly happy my husband and I are with Currin. There was an issue getting the sod we wanted for our yard. My husband pleaded to make it happen before we had company come into town - and somehow they did! It has been a fantastic experience since the initial consult. Once the yard got started it took them ONE DAY to make it amazing. They cleaned up completely afterward - including power washing the drive way and sidewalk. They even followed up to make sure we were completely happy and fully understood how to take care of our new landscaping. Our yard is beautiful! These guys are awesome! Very knowledgeable and talented in their design and execution. We were probably not the easiest clients they've ever had (we were picky, made changes to the original plan, and working within a very specific budget), but Jon and Matt were very accommodating and in the end they met and exceeded all expectations. Our back yard was a totally blank canvas with no plants, beds, or design whatsoever. When they were done we had beautiful shrubs and ground covers, defined beds with custom mulch, and a perfect bluestone patio. Also we had multiple gutter downspout diverters that were a huge eyesore and they buried them underground so you don't even know they're there. The project itself took less than a day and the crew left zero mess or debris behind. So impressed. Would highly recommend the Currin brothers to anyone planning an outdoor project. I'm picky. Particular. I run my own local service business so my standards are high for others and Currin Outdoor had a high bar to meet. Also, I had been trying to find a hardscape contractor for almost 2 years now and finally stumbled across the Currins on Yelp. I reached out to them and a few others and they were very fast to respond. It took the other companies much longer. Matt came out quickly, gave me an estimate, and after tweaking some details I hired them. Not only were they very communicative during the entire process, they were always on time, did better than expected work, and their entire crew was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and hard working. Their crew was helpful in coming up with design ideas and changes to the plan we had in mind. They are now finished and I am stunned at the quality and timeliness and price of the work. It's a shame I can't rate them 6 stars. Fantastic! read more

Jon was excellent to work with on our indoor fireplace makeover. He has an eye for design as well as the construction skills and was helpful in selecting the right stone for the hearth and surround. His crew installed a new fireplace screen, soapstone hearth and then installed the stone surround. Jon was easy to get in touch with throughout the process and was flexible as needed with the schedule as we were working around the holidays. I was excited when first engaging Currin Landscaping as they seemed very knowledgeable. However as we began to engage we began to notice little signs that caused us to question their commitment and quality. Promises not kept, tardiness, commitments slipping requiring multiple times of reminder. Once completed, plants began to show distress, when we engaged we got a series of excuses; late frost (which by the way we had expressed concerns before planning so late in the season and they said would not be an issue), animals, over watering, under watering, to much sun not enough sun. I was becoming increasingly frustrated but assumed they knew what they were doing until plants began dying. Since paying them a CRAZY amount(which I am so angered at myself for doing so) I have lost 15 plants that I have had to replace. I have now hired another landscaper to fix their poor implementation, and he has shown me the poor prep work that has led to the many plants dying. I have never written a review but am so upset with myself that I allowed myself to be taken advantage of.
