I cleaned my plate! Curry Fried Chicken Plate. Delicious!
    Charis S.

If you're in Salt Lake City, you MUST go! This chicken. The crunch. Was so freaking good! I loved all the elements of the chicken plate - the veggie curry was full of flavor, the potatoes were fork tender, lentils were really good, the pita bread was hot, soft and fresh and the salad was simple. Everything went perfect together!

This lives up to the hype (recommended by the Mayor of Flavortown). It's humble and delicious. We were recommended exactly what we ordered and it did not disappoint. The food was ready within 5-10 minutes, if that. The fry on the chicken is spicy, thick, and very crunchy. The chicken moist and juicy. My ideal. Whatever is in the vegetable curry, I want to bathe in it, though the lentils could have used a pinch of salt. I liked the wrap, but preferred the fried chicken.

Health code concerns + Extremely rude management. I left an honest, concise review on Google and they replied very immaturely. Now, I am writing the same review on Yelp for further spread of my honest feedback. Also HEALTH SCORE - YIKES!!! Which I read this before eating there. Screenshot attached. "Ordered here because of the insanely high reviews and god the best thing on my platter was the pita. Had two bites of the chicken and tossed the rest. Rice had no flavor, curry had no flavor"

Stopped in around 5pm for a dinner here and ordered their classic curry fried chicken. The chicken is really well fried and the curry seasoning on it was really good. The veggie curry was also super tasty, I could've eaten a bowl full. The salad was ok, nothing special. I didn't really have a use for the pita - do you eat it with the rice / curry? Feels like I'm doubling up on carbs then? I wish you could add a small scoop of hummus for like a few dollars rather than having to buy a whole separate side order of hummus and extra pita. Other small criticism is that the hummus is packaged and not homemade which means i probably wouldn't order. Interior has seating along the bar, wall, and inside tables. It was empty when i arrived and food was prompt.

Just had the best meal at this place. I got the curry fried chicken rice plate and it was so comforting and tasted like a homemade meal in the best way possible. It seemed like all the ingredients are fresh and healthy and ofc the curry fried chicken is absolutely amazing soo good. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a mostly healthy and very flavorful comfort meal this is the place to be.

Good, but underwhelming. I expected more of a flavor explosion with the hype of this place. My favorite part was the crunch on the fried chicken- that was perfect, and the chicken inside was not dry. I also really loved the hummus- super smooth and great seasoning. The restaurant just smells amazing and the service was quick and friendly. The rest just wasn't special- average fries with good seasoning, and salads we didn't eat because they were overloaded with ranch dressing. For fried chicken, I prefer Nosh (in PC), ChickQueen, and even Pretty Bird. If I returned, I'd get the chicken pieces with hummus/pita and skip the rest- highlights only.

Curry Fried Chicken was my first stop in Salt Lake City. Literally. Uber driver dropped us off with our luggage in tow! I wasn't super hungry at the time (first time for everything), but knowing I had seen this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives I knew I had to power through. The restaurant is quaint with dozens of framed photos on the walls of famous people who've dined in. Good amount of seating, quiet on a Friday afternoon around noon. Chicken Shawarma Wrap was filled appropriately and had good flavor overall! It had lots of sauce on the inside and the chicken definitely had a nice array of seasoning and spices. The pita was warmed and even a bit crispy. I wouldn't say I was floored by it, but I enjoyed my meal and the price was right. Funky little spot in Downtown SLC. Easy to see why Guy Fieri would go to a place like this. If you're into Pakistani cuisine with an American spin, Curry Fried Chicken is worth checking out!

This was a nice spin on fried chicken. The overall plate was tasty and authentic. Indian spices were nice. Mild spice level. The mango lassi tasted like an orange/mango creamsicle. I liked that a lot. The samosas were also tasty The had plenty of sauces you could choose from. The food came out hot. Now the staff isn't as warm as I would've liked. It may be a cultural thing but nothing that wouldn't make me want to come back. Overall the restaurant was clean.

Yum! I typically get the chicken schwarma wrap here. The pita is always nice and soft, the vegetables fresh, and the chicken spicy and hot! The green cilantro ranch dressing is the perfect thing to help with the spiciness! I got the curry fried chicken plate today. I wish they sold their chicken by the bucket! A little heat from the curry spice, perfectly coated and crispy chicken! And more of that delicious green dressing (of course I asked for extra!)! I wanted some crispy fresh cucumbers or something to spoon up the hummus, but the pita bread was good as well. I will try this with the standard lentils instead of hummus next time.

This place is genius. I love coming for a plate everytime I'm in the area. The plates have so many components: pita, salad, rice, lentils, and hummus plus whatever protein you choose. Ofc my go-to is the curry fried chicken, but I'm also a fan of the curry fried fish (pictured)! They're filling and balanced plates! Also love the small, cozy restaurant. It has so much character and the decor is cool. I personally like sitting at the bar by the kitchen to watch the cook and people as they come in!

This place was great! It's right off state street in Salt Lake and looks very unassuming. The inside is decked out in all sorts of fun Mediterranean/Indian style decor. The restaurant has a home style feel and has the familiar smells of Indian food. I ordered food right before the establishment closed up after lunch but I received my order quickly. Curry fried chicken has weird hours and will close in the middle of the day during the week. Make sure to check their hours before going to eat at their restaurant. I tried the chicken shawarma wrap, hummus with warmed pita and a mango lassi. I took my food home but the mango lassi was almost finished by the time I got back. The mango lassi was absolutely delicious! I loved how soft the pita bread was and everything was very flavorful!

Curry fried chicken with lentils and potatoes. Gotta have this plate. It's delicious.

We dined in, and it was clean and had a good amount of seats to sit down and enjoy your food. Our food came out pretty fast and fresh, we did t have to wait long. We got the boneless large, the two flavors we picked were the honey garlic and sweet soy. The boneless wings were crispy and full of flavor, and portion size was more than enough! We split the chicken between me, my man, and my two little daughters and had leftovers to take home too. We also got the plain fries and mandoo for our kids and it came out hot. The mandoo came with 6 pieces, the fries were fried in like a tempura batter so not your average French fry. The fries were crispy and salted well! We left full and satisfied!

They didn't tell me it was a carry-out location with only limited outdoor seating...so I was surprised when we got there. They have about 6 metal tables with bench chairs on their semi-covered patio. We ordered our meals on the kiosk outside the pick up window. We got a mix of chicken strips (one mild, one medium, one hot) and a hot sandwich. We each got French fries and a drink as well. The chicken looked great...larger pieces with ample breading and spice. I enjoyed my strips and medium heat was just right where my tongue was burning but didn't wreck my stomach. However, both my boys struggled with their hot chicken. My youngest couldn't finish his meal but my oldest soldiered on and finish but he was hurting the next 24hrs. The fries were the lowlight of the meal...minimal flavor and not too soft in the middle. I basically used mine as a heat sink in my mouth. The staff was amazing as we kept needing refills on drinks and water, and they walked it out to us on a tray several times. I can see this place being a popular grab and go or food delivery service spot. We were happy they had the walk-up ordering as well so we could experience it. Thanks Pretty Bird!
