I learned about this place because my spousal unit and I are regulars at the restaurant next door. Which come to find out that both places are owned by the same people. So, it turns out we recognized some of the people working here from also working there. Hi Chaz!!!! Despite the fact I have grown up eating both Chinese and Japanese foods it was not now that I have really tried Thai. It's not bad, sort of what I grew up with. The place itself is decently nice. A few small intimate tables and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I went to this place over a different Thai restaurant because it had better reviews, but now I sort of wish I would have gone to the other restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad, but I think they may have used coconut cream instead of coconut milk, and the bamboo shoot flavor dominated the curry. I got the red curry with tofu, spice level four. I'm the type of person who puts habanero on everything, and I'm glad she talked me out of a five because the four was perfect. But the curry just wasn't the best!

Came back again with my husband to share some delicious food!! We started with the Curry Puff appetizer! The filling was so flavorful and the puff pastry was so crispy and flaky! Delicious! We also shared the Padsiew with tofu, which is one of my favorite Thai dishes. My husband also enjoyed a refreshing Coke and I had a crisp Tsing Tao beer. Service was great! It's always a fun vibe! Can't wait to come back!

This place has amazing Thai food, I'm telling you it's a must try. Located across the street from trolley square. The service is great, it can get busy and parking isn't the best but the food makes up for it. Oh, and you can choose your spice level.

Massaman curry that is rich and savory

We were looking for good Thai food in Salt Lake City and stumbled upon Skewered Thai in downtown. The small, all brick building with old hard wood floors is non assuming and on a main drag. We were warmly greeted and ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, bean sprouts, green onions, egg, peanuts and a very savory sauce. We loved the generous amount of sauce that coated the rice noodles perfectly. Our order also included a Massaman curry with chicken, onions, carrots, potatoes, and a rich, warm curry sauce. The sauce was scrumptious and had a nice rich consistency. Both orders were fresh, properly spiced as we requested and a generous helpings. In Salt Lake City give Skewered Thai a chance. The staff is very warm and accommodating. The food portions are generous and delicious. If they were in my home state, they would be on my frequent staple list. Great job ladies.

Quick service, delicious food. I got the drunken noodles. Got 2/5 spice level and it was perfect.

Stumbled upon this little gem- glad we did. If we hadn't been staying in a hotel we would have ordered way more food for leftovers- but the crispy rolls and spicy fried rice were SO good. Really want to go back and try many other items. Go here.

This is a great date place and has a great atmosphere with a wonderful staff. The food was good but it feels like they are trying too hard. Some thai dishes are best when simple... but a lot were just over much.

Cutest little restaurant with a nice ambience and cozy feel. Ordered the crispy rolls and spicy fried rice and both were absolutely amazing. Service was quick and waitress was super nice and accommodating.

I got the spicy fried rice. It was perfectly spicy, with a ton of different veggies in it. I got it with tofu, but there were other protein options as well. Portion was decent. It was one of my favorite Thai fried rice dishes I've ever had. Super delicious. Highly, highly recommend. Service was average. Dim lighting vibe.

We ordered from here for a work lunch, so I didn't see the restaurant or interact with any workers. I'm not familiar with Thai food at all so I ordered a fried rice with chicken and it was delicious. There was a ton of large pieces of onions which I'm fine with onions, but it was an excessive amount haha. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well.

First of all, this place is NOTTT kid friendly. No kids menu, no option for a small portion, and they only have one highchair, and it was in use so we had to hold our infant the whole time. Their chicken skewers and peanut sauce were yummy. We got the pineapple fried rice was not very flavorful and desperately needed salt. Then we got the massaman curry-- level 3 for spice. First of all I got no spice at all, and the flavor of the sauce was flat. My potatoes were not cooked all the way so they were tough. My husband got the bbq pork and he really liked it. I ordered the cucumber salad. The waiter told me that it was in a Chili sauce. Whatever sauce it was in was transparent and tasted like sweet water. Not sure where / how chili was used in that sauce. The restaurant is located in a house turned restaurant. Tacky on the outside with poor landscaping work. But the inside looked nice. Overall it was just not good. I will never come back.

Skewered Thai came highly recommended from many local Salt Lake City folks I've run into so I had to try it. I stopped by with my family. We were quickly seated. The service was polite and quick. The place is decorated with Vietnamese ornaments and in the background plays contemporary pop music. We ordered the Thai Fried Rice for my daughter, my wife ordered the Pad Thai, & I ordered the Moo Yang. What was interesting about this place is how differently my wife and I rated each dish. To start, she enjoyed the Thai Fried Rice, which I found bland. The rice was cooked to perfection but lacked spice. The lack of spice ended up being a motif for each dish. Also, they don't have sriracha, just chili flakes upon request... My wife is a Pad Thai enthusiast and was disappointed in her dish. The dish was one-dimensional and relied heavily on the sauce. I found the Pad Thai solid, though lacking the usual Thai spice I am accustomed to. My Moo Yang was good. The pork on its own was salty but combined with the sweet cucumber and carrots and finished off with the perfectly cooked white rice the flavors balanced each other. The salty and sweet interplay between the pork and veggies makes the dish worthwhile so long as you eat it together. It's tough to give this place higher than 3 stars based on what we ate and it's possible that there are other dishes we might like or a different manner we can order our food (can it be made spicy & can I bring my own sriracha?). I'll be back again in the future just not right away.

The best Thai I've had in Salt Lake. Husband loves the Thai beef salad and I usually do the Masaman Curry. My whole family loves it!

If you have read any of my reviews, you know that I am a Thai food fanatic and I'm going to share a restaurant with you that I have a great passion for. When I travel through Salt Lake I actually schedule my flight so I can eat at Sara Thai Kitchen. Ohhhh mama. The Tom Yum is to die for. Deep flavor and just enough heat to make me get a good wave of heat from the tip of my toes to the top of my lip. Yup. And the presentation is lovely - a small chaffing dish with a fire under it so it's always bubbling hot. Also, do not pass up the lollipop chicken. It's my favorite starter- I have them box two and I eat one. The crab fried rice is Bkue fin crab- real deal. I swear they sprinkle some magic on it. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu- but be sure to finish off with mango sticky rice. It's the perfect ending to a perfect date. You can thank me later.

Today I went back and made sure I was more careful with my plate and decided to eat at the few tables set up outside their storefront. I ordered the Khao Soi again. It tastes like a coconut milk based curry. Something about this curry is different. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's probably one of my favorite things to try if a Thai restaurant offers it. Slightly sweet and savory. The chicken thighs (2 thighs) were falling off the bone tender. On my last visit, I got beef and chicken. This time I got chicken only. It comes with green beans, rice, and a spring roll for a little over $12. Really great flavor. I killed my whole plate. The shop is very small. There is a small bar type table to dine in with 3 stools. Just the kitchen, a cooler with drinks, and a small standing area to order at. It's mostly an order to-go place. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.
