Thanks Curry Gate Matthews for inviting me out to try your food. I had the chance to visit Curry Gate, and this was my first time trying Indian and Nepali food. I'm glad this was my first experience because it set the bar high. They're located right here in Matthews, NC, and have a strong 4.8-star rating on Google with close to 200 reviews. You can also find them on apps like Uber Eats, DoorDash, Postmates, and food.orders.co, which makes it easy to order from home. For food, my guest ordered the Tikka Masala with chicken. This dish is cooked in a rich tomato sauce with spices, and you can choose what you want in it like veggies, paneer, chicken, lamb, or goat. She went with chicken, and it was a great choice. I ordered one of their popular dishes, the "Taste of Nepal" (CG Special Biryani). It's a special rice dish topped with Chicken 65, and it starts at a spice level 5. I'll be honest the pictures don't do it justice at all. It looked amazing in person. We also tried their fresh bread. I had the butter naan, and my guest had the garlic naan. Both were soft, warm, and went really well with our meals. Also their Portions size for one dish could feed two or three people. The food came out in less than 15 minutes, and everything was HOT. You could see the steam coming off the plates. When I took my first bite, I was surprised in a good way. The food tasted fresh, full of flavor, and not too heavy. You could really taste all the spices and ingredients. Now that spice level 5 definitely had a kick (my nose was running a little), but it wasn't too much. It didn't take away from the flavor it actually made the dish better. The restaurant itself was very clean, from the parking lot to the inside and even the bathrooms. The staff was friendly and made everything feel easy and comfortable. Overall, this was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had.
