Not sure why this place has less than 5 star.. portions- BEEFY! Even if you don't get beef. I got a chicken curry dish recommended by the cashier and was pleasantly surprised by the serving size. The food came out within minutes of ordering, and the staff was kind and attentive. The ambience seems traditional, I went during the daytime, so there wasn't too many people inside.

Great spot for a quick Indian lunch. Super affordable prices for their express lunch. You can order from their regular menu or you can head to the back of the restaurant and ordered their express lunch, which is what I did. I had the 1 meat and 1 vegetarian option, which comes with rice and naan. For the meat I had chicken vindaloo and I had channa marsala for the veggie option. Options look small but was decently filling. The naan was OK -- could've been more warm. I liked the chicken vindaloo but it tasted a bit different from what I usually taste from other restaurants. The sauce was definitely more on the vinegary side. Only reason I took off a star is because they automatically add tips to your total when you pay -- which is WAY above the standard 16-18%.

Mango lassi

My kid brother came from out of state & we went in Manhattan. It was almost 90 degrees, we were so tired & feeling hungry. So I googled & try to find a desi halal restaurant to eat. When I went inside only thing I liked was the paintings on the wall. The decor was kinda dull, maybe the business isn't good. But they definitely need to renovate & redecorate the restaurant. I was too tired to leave & try another restaurant! So decided to eat anyway. The price was high & the taste wasn't close at all. Me & my brother couldn't even finish our one chicken biryani. I had to bring the other chicken biryani at home. The chicken loly pop was ok. Only thing I liked is the lady who served us. Really nice & helpful. I appreciated her service a lot. Even my kid brother also gave her tip besides me. I hope rest of the food is better then what we tasted. Feeling real bad saying all this, maybe others will like it. For an Indian Halal restaurant, there was not much flavor. Probably the Chef will hate me after this, maybe I should remove my pictures from the reviewBut it is what it is! I was dissatisfied! My brother did mentioned that he liked the mango lassi. That's a plus point

Banana pakora

This is one of a few Indian places in the area. A lot of reviews appear to be be complaining here about service charges or some other stuff not even related to the food so the average here is probably a bit higher. Compared to most, they are more low-key with a good lunch special and a good dinner special for the area. Said dinner special for $22 comes with an appetizer, a main dish, a naan, and basmati rice. I got a sweet lassi to drink and it was fine. Less thick than some other spots but still tasty. My appetizer was the banana pakora. It came with 4 very large pieces and the banana inside was ripe and sweet so it was closer to a dessert and could likely be moved there without batting an eye outside of the mint chutney it came with. Someone had a Mulligatawny soup which was solid. The last person had one of the chaats I believe which was alright. My main dish was the crab curry which was surprisingly part of the special. I ordered it spicy and it was indeed spicy and good. Someone else got I believe a fish dish which I remember liking. The last person had tandoori chicken which was fine but not as good as Indian Table or Mint Heights. As my naan, I got the keema naan and it was hot and had a good amount of minced lamb though said lamb could have been more flavored. I tried the garlic naan which was tasty. The food here is a bit lower quality than at either Mint Heights or Indian Table but it's hard to argue with the lunch or dinner special here. They remind me of some of the hole in the walls in Murray Hill especially with the lunch special which reminds me heavily of Haandi. I wouldn't expect mind-blowing Indian food here but you get what you pay for here and some. Will be back for the lunch special. Mid 3.

I asked for spicy tikka masala and it was not spicy at all and realized when I got home :/. Check your food before you leave in case you have a special request. Also my samosa was not cooked all the way :/ Even though the something's needed improvement the curry was still tasty!

Fantastic dinner with amazing prices and huge portions! My mom and I ate here tonight and couldn't even finish our meals. Yum, yum!

Lunch special here, and the price is not bad. I ordered the Chicken Tikka with two veggie. Potatoes & eggplants. Food is pretty good it has good flavor. Just wish they will give a little more chicken. It also comes with a naan which is very soft. I also ordered a Mango Lassi, it was really good. A must try. Definitely will go back again.

Shrimp Tandoori Masala
Su H.

Y'all... I ordered this with 4 friends who all got the chicken tikka masala and I had the shrimp tandoori masala. We were shocked because we've never had Indian curry that was so bland/dilute. It really felt like we were eating soup... It was extremely disappointing. I really think this place needs to change the chef or recipe because something is definitely off. The curry should be thicker and have more flavor. My curry specifically felt like shrimp and onion soup. So many onions. Please season your food... The best part was the garlic naan. That is always good. But if you're going to charge $20+ per curry dish, please check its quality before sending it out.

I really wanted to eat here as it had been an eon. I had a vital appointment nearby, so I took my Uber here. Sadly, the street was closed so we had to get out a block away and walk. To our surprise, they were closed. I saw a fellow in the kitchen walking towards the door. Based on past experiences, I thought he was coming to let us in. Then someone else came up behind me and I apologized, greeted him, and moved out of the way. He went in, said nothing. Puzzled, we walked in and stood there, waiting to be seated. The man who entered before me came back out of the kitchen and just said "we arent ready yet" I apologized and asked if he wanted us to come back later. He said yes. I was surprised because they are usually so welcoming here, and I fully expected to be invited to sit down until they were ready. I figured it must be great to have customers waiting when you open. We went back outside but it was freezing. I'm disabled and had no coat since I Ubered here to get some blood sugar before going to Social Security. My caretaker had brought me here but had to be on a conference call the whole time, so without a place to sit, we had to eat elsewhere. I hope to randomly end up back here someday, but probably wouldn't rely on it for a crucial meal before medical appointment. I don't want to say anything bad about them because they've always been wonderful, but calling it a neutral visit is being overly kind. we stood outside, disabled, no coat, for 2 hrs due to unexpectedly being rejected from our first choice. sad

During the 'New Normal' this is a spot my partner and I recommended if you are looking for indian food. Currently they are not open for inside/outside dining but they do offer takeout and delivery. Personally I recommend trying out the two-course deal option. It includes most of the appetizers and main courses and will make sure to provide enough food for dinners and next day's lunch. I ordered the Kachori Chaat and my partner had the Aloo Rikki, both were a first for us and neither disappointed with a nice blend of sweet and savory. My partner continued with the tandoori bbq chicken for entry while I had the Tikka Masala. The chicken was a bit dry but the lamb was delicious especially when dipping the naan bread in the sauce

I've never eaten inside but I've ordered and picked up many many times! The is definitely my go to indian restaurant. I've tried other places and they never too this one!

The ice cream is incredible--rich, flavorful, and tastes homemade. The mango is a standout, and the brownies are honestly next-level--warm, decadent, and just a step away from a perfect lava cake. They've also got amazing cakes (including a fantastic carrot cake) and a great selection of treats that keep you coming back. What really makes this place special, though, is the owner, Peter. He's always welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. He greets customers with a smile, takes the time to say hello, and creates an atmosphere that feels both personal and inviting. The staff deserves just as much praise--every single one of them is amazing: professional, friendly, funny, and kind. I've known many of them over time, and they consistently go above and beyond. Today, one of the staff members was incredibly sweet--she even brought my order out to me while I was sitting in my car. That kind of service is rare and really shows how much they care. The shop itself is spotless--seriously clean, top to bottom--and there's even a cozy outdoor seating area where you can sit and enjoy your coffee or dessert. Brooklyn FARMACY at its best--fresh, friendly, local, and full of charm. Highly recommend stopping by--you won't regret it.

Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

Seating space (not a lot of it, so I imagine it can get packed on busy times) and bathrooms on premises. Hot chocolate was delicious. We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate. You definitely tasted the coffee and it was less thick than regular hot chocolate (which was on a thinner, sippier side). You can sample ice cream to make your selection. It's all very sweet, so if you're looking for a less sweet option go with Belgian dark chocolate flavor. For a $18 banana split you get three scoops of ice cream and a caramelized banana. Not a big portion for such hefty price. The tiny addition of toppings didn't make this banana split come together into a cohesive dish. Would get something else next time. Definitely not a good deal. Young lovely girls at the cashier were super friendly and accommodating. The not so young gentleman with a mustache who brought our order to the table was very dismissive and rude when we asked him to please bring us a correct order (he carried multiple orders and was harried to be done delivering them and barked something incoherent at us when we asked for help).

The shop itself is small but cute, nicely decorated, with 2 mini tables and a couple of windowsill seats if you want to sit for a bit. Staff was super friendly and generous with samples, which I appreciated since some of the flavors are definitely outside the usual ice cream comfort zone. They also sell pints to take home. Flavor-wise, I tried the masala chai, black cherry cardamom, and the saffron soft serve. The saffron soft serve reminded me of the leftover milk from ras malai turned into soft serve, which was interesting and nostalgic. The masala chai and cherry cardamom were more subtle than I hoped. Some tasted unique upfront but left a slightly weird aftertaste that kind of lingered. I respect what they're trying to do and can see why people love it, especially if you're easing into more globally inspired desserts, but for the price, I wanted stronger flavor payoff and a cleaner finish. TLDR: Unique global inspired ice cream flavors, friendly staff, and free samples, but some flavors felt muted and had an odd aftertaste.
