We were recommended Fish Creeks by a relative. After celebrating a wedding the night prior, we needed something delicious. Upon looking at the yelp reviews and pictures, Fish Creeks was it! We made a reservation, which is highly recommended. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed but there wasn't a line. We were seated immediately. The place was nicely lit, not too crowded. It was just my wife and I, so we were seated at a small table. We were greeted by our server. The menu was fairly simple, not too many choices to debate over. That's always a good sign imo. We decided to go with the fried rice (recommended to us), the fried pork belly and the morning glory (veggie). All I have to say is.. WOW. Even being pretty hungover, the food was absolutely amazing. The fried fish was fried to perfection, the herbs really added a nice touch. The fish was so meaty, no bones. The pork belly was a little over fried, but was still delicious. It was a little chewy but the flavors and fried garlic was excellent. The morning glory was cooked perfectly, just like how my mom made it when I growing up. Overall, the meal was 5/5! We couldn't have asked for a better meal, it exceeded all of our expectations. The service was great. The place was booming and it didn't take long to get our food or anything. definitely worth the hype! the dishes resemble authentic thai dishes closely in variety and flavor. the steamed whole branzino was my favorite -- the fish was melt in your mouth tender and they remove all the bones for you which makes it seamless to eat. the flavors were tangy and balanced. the zabb wings were also very flavorful, it's a good mix of tart and sweet, and the chicken was tender and easy to peel off the bone. the coconut crab curry was pretty simple, probably the most uninteresting. it was sweet but also pretty spicy. it comes with jasmine rice but we upgraded to sticky rice. Ten years in and the Bond Street original still cooks like it's got something to prove. Booked a 7pm, room was full by 7:10, and the kitchen was in top form. The coconut crab curry remains the order. Lump crab in a coconut cream that actually tastes of crab, cut with makrut lime and real fish sauce funk, not the sweetened stuff most NYC Thai places settle for. We also did the whole steamed branzino in lime chili garlic broth. Drink that broth like soup, it's basically a tom yum concentrate. Zabb wings were fine but you can get wings anywhere. Worth knowing: Dustin Everett runs the kitchen now, a Pig & Khao and Ssäm Bar guy, and the food hasn't lost a step. The no pad thai policy still stands, which tells you everything about the confidence level here. There's a Williamsburg spinoff now but this cramped little room on the cobblestones is still the one. Loud. Genuinely loud. Tables turn in about 90 minutes and the servers move like they're on rails, friendly but quick. Two people, three dishes, two cocktails, around $160 before tip. The coconut curry was wayyyyy too spicy and it did not come with any vegetables. It felt a little underwhelming and did not have a lot of meat. It felt like it was just curry sauce, but as a soup. Finally got to try fish cheeks after having it on my want to try list for too long, and it did not disappoint! The flavor of everything was amazing especially the manila clams with sweet basil. Unfortunately, the clams did have some sand though, and they were a bit small. We also tried the coconut crab curry, and the flavor was soooo delicious. I really liked the spicy kick. It is salty alone, so make sure to get a side of jasmine rice :) The prawn karee surprised me the most. It was sooo good. Although the host was a bit rude, our server, Griffin, was absolutely amazing and the sweetest. Finally tried Fish Cheeks after having been on my list for so long. I will preface this by saying I am typically disappointed by Manhattan Thai food. I find it oftentimes to be overpriced, coming with a lot of bells and whistles and lacking in flavor compared to Little Thailand in Queens where I grew up. This place is an exception! From beginning to end everything was excellent. The pork belly was the perfect temperature of warm, tender, a bit acidic/sour (YUM), and so delightful. I can see why many reviews recommend it. The crab curry was so nice and clean and fresh. The crab was so tender, and the curry strong, and went beautifully with the rice. It's actually such a sleeper hit, and we added it onto our order last minute. The steamed branzino was delicious, too - tender, limey, sour, sweet, a little heat - it's got everything!! We shared the oysters (literally the only place that can get me to eat oysters), some white wine maybe one too many lol and the Choo Chee Scallops. We came here as a walk-in and were able to get seated with a limitation of our dining. The service was quick though the bathroom situation wasn't the best. The food was very flavorful. The seafood tower was an unexpected surprise with raw seasoned crab meet. I was planning on skipping that. Huge mistake!!!! I definitely saved that for last. The clams, oysters, and condiments to dress them were perfectly planned! The corn salad was also very tasty. It is very important to order everything early on some dishes take longer than others. Including the fried whiting, but definitely worth the wait. The service was good. The waiter was on top of it clearing our plates and adding fresh ones through the courses. Fish Cheeks is always a vibe I love the colorful aesthetic and lively atmosphere. Last night, I ordered two of my go-to favorites: the Manila clams with sweet basil and the coconut crab curry, along with the Tongue & Cheek cocktail. The flavors in the Manila clams were still a 10/10, but I was disappointed by the portion this time. I had more empty shells in my bowl than clams with meat! I'm not usually one to complain, but I honestly should have said something. The coconut crab curry, however, knocked it out of the park as always. The flavor is out of this world, and the succulent lumps of crabmeat practically melt in your mouth. Pro tip: If you order both dishes, mix a little of the sweet basil clam sauce into the coconut crab curry. The combination is incredible! The Tongue & Cheek cocktail was divine mildly sweet, refreshing, and incredibly smooth, with a velvety texture from the egg white. Service was mixed this particular evening. The host came across as a bit rude and seemed to have an attitude, but thankfully, my bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating throughout the night. Despite a couple of misses, Fish Cheeks remains one of my favorites for its bold flavors, beautiful atmosphere, and consistently unforgettable coconut crab curry. read more

Fish Cheeks, I miss you! Truly enjoyed my time at Fish Cheeks-especially on a super rainy day! We made reservations early bc they get packed fast! Because it was a rainy day in SoHo we asked if they could seat us earlier and they made it happen!! Lovee the vibe, the bright colors, traditional yet modern decor, and the extremely friendly staff! 5 stars to the chef because every dish satisfied every flavor profile, perfect balance of heat, sweetness, saltiness, and acidty- so much flavor!! I drank all the sauce with the Branzino! I will definitely come back with a group to enjoy the seafood tower during happy hour! read more

The lemongrass was super tasty in both dishes. Fish and mussels both cooked to perfection. Excited to try more of the menu! Definitely make a reservation as early as possible because they book out very quickly! read more

Service was lovely, the place can def get packed but still felt roomy enough to sit. Can get a little loud sometimes. We got the happy hour oysters which we loved, especially the little shallot crisps. The chili garlic pork belly was nice and crispy, goooood amount of spice level. The prawn karee was the star, such good flavor and fresh prawns. We also got the signature coconut crab curry which had a nice coconut flavor, felt like it was lacking a bit in the crab flavor and meat.
